  1. How much does a ticket cost to a Women's BBall game? It's been a long while since I've attended one. I'm thinking of taking my daughter and maybe a few others to the game on December 30th.
  2. SMU at 19k seems very generous by all accounts.
  3. Choice and Koonz make for a formidable recruiting tandem. If I was a player it would be hard to say no to them.
  4. I agree. Playing with better players *could* make a player look better than he actually is but that's hard to do with the quarterback position. Also, players become better when playing with better teammates. Iron sharpens iron. As an example, my daughter is a freshman in high school and playing a lot on the varsity of a 5A school. Her playing ability has improved tremendously during the season so far. That's partly due to playing against better opponents but maybe more so from playing and practicing with her varsity teammates. If Martin is playing with a lot of talented guys then that should make him a better player for it. I'll admit I had my doubts about not only Fine but the entire offense coming into the season. Fine greatly exceeded my expectations and we can feel good about having a quality quarterback for the next two seasons to come. In his very little playing time Shanbour has shown a little something-something and if he needed to fill in for a game I'd feel good about it. I'm really glad all of these quarterbacks coming in appear to have the talent to continue after Fine graduates but none of them have played a down of college football yet. For all their talents we have no idea if they have the leadership, mental ability, or quick decision making ability required to play at this level. However, I do feel good that of all these quality recruits at least one or two will turn out to be a quality starter and backups for us when Fine and Shanbour are gone.
  5. I believe the cold spells no only had to do with Mason but also with so many young players on offense. Getting the offense to be more consistent withing games will help out our defense as well.
  6. He's the exception. I'm not saying Sutton will drop to the 6th round but if he goes to the combine and has all the measurables teams want, they will still question him because of the competition he played against. Also, it's so early in the process that teams aren't making their boards yet. At this time last year Carson Wentz was thought to maybe be a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
  7. It's still very early so these and I would expect them to drop since when it comes down to it teams tend to favor players from P5 schools.
  8. CUSA is waiting for Charlotte to get really good before scheduling them against us.
  9. Waiting until signing day is a dangerous gamble. Hopefully all his preferred offers do not dry up at the last second.
  10. It just could be kids are finding their own way there and don't want to come back to campus to take a bus. It's really easy to make it a one day trip or even a one night trip cheaply.
  11. That is really good for Dickey and I'm happy for him.
  12. Honestly, I think this is a solid hire for SMU and I think he'll do ok.
  13. We just can't get away from that McCarney pic.
  14. I think Texas made a good hire. I hope TCU doesn't.
  15. He was also leading them to a another score late when the receiver fumbled near the red zone.
  16. Blue hair? Ugh. He does have a some mobility.
  17. Somehow in an article about Littrell mentions to talk about two losses and no wins. It would be nice to have a beat writer who didn't always see the glass half empty.
  18. I'm kinda surprised Dickey has't gotten another head coaching job. I suppose he may have just not been interested or perhaps how he left UNT is still following him. I don't see him being the hire at SMU. I don't think he would bring the excitement they would want and, much like Seth, I don't see him as a fit for the SMU culture.
  19. Cherry picking one obscure state to make your case doesn't work.
  20. Iowa.
  21. I think that was more about getting Houston on the schedule and getting out of the Army deal.
  22. Technology has also given students many more options of things to do on a Saturday afternoon.
  23. Crap! I think Todd Graham would be an improvement for them. I'm hoping Todd Graham goes somewhere else.
  24. Yep ... and it's been that way for a long, long time.
