Parents weekend game and Homecoming were both loss due to dumb decisions. For example ... one of those games we tie the game with about 15 seconds remaining. Paker decides to onside kick. With so little time remaining what are the odds that we recover, get into field goal range, and kick a winning field goal? What are the odds that the other team recovers the onsides kick, hits one pass play, and kick a game winning field goal of their own? I'll give you a moment to calculate the different odds. [cue Jeopardy theme] What actually happened? The other team recovered the onside kick, hit one pass play, and kicked a game winning field goal.

It isn't done until training camp starts in the fall.

Yep. The P5 devise a standard to make it to the final four which essentially eliminates most college team except those in their own conferences.

Alabama wore down Georgia's defense and made them look very average in the 4th quarter. However, if the refs don't blow the call on the blocked put Georgia probably wins.

I was corrected that alumn doesn't mean graduate but only that you attended. So he is an alum so even if he doesn't (which is a shame) I do. He wasn't built to be a DI quarterback but that wasn't his fault. He a tough SOB who should have been allowed to stay at receiver.

When Vito writes that he led Plano to the 1977 state championship ... what exactly does he mean by "led"? John Clark was the athletic director and Tom Kimbrough was the head coach. He was never the head coach or AD for Plano. That's ok, Vito. Don't let facts get in the way of a story.

That's a great point about Vandy and what should be solid academics.

I finally got around to watching his tape and now I'm VERY excited about this kid . His athletic ability and instincts jump out at you. Also, many of those big plays could only come from a lot of film study and knowing what the offense is going to run. You worry about JC guys taking time to find their way at this level but he has the tools to succeed from the get go. EDIT: Someone gave me a down vote for this post? Seriously? I guess some SMU fan was visiting ...

I'm not a Wintrich fan. Remember how horrible our seniors tested at their Pro Day? He has some off the wall ideas that sound good but don't seem to translate onto the field.

Are we sure about the "most" part? Perhaps that was most of the SMU fans at the bowl game.

I had no idea how this game went until I watched the highlights. I had a sinking feeling in my stomach at how far we fell behind early ... but it was still early. The end of the highlights was a real cliff hanger since I had no idea who won the game.

Only 210 but at 6'3" there's good potential to fill out.

That was the absolute worst onside kick return setup I have EVER seen in my life. Manvel only had five guys at the 10 yard line and the second line never came forward. HP should have onside kick every time against that setup.

If they do count Army then it's a bad decision.

Yep. Other than our game this game was very enjoyable. It's always good to watch SMU "P6" get destroyed.
