  1. I'm confused by a few things. First, how would he know some of these details such as a cop leaving a call on hold in order to eat a meal. Secondly, why didn't he do something when he actually was in a position to do so?
  2. Some good old fashioned offensive line play. Love it.
  3. The $2M buyout is nothing for a major P5. He may stay awhile but the contract is no hindrance to him leaving.
  4. *Yawn* Another 3 star. (kidding ... love the kid) 🙂 We've been worried about our linebacker corp. I think we've now shored that up pretty good the past few days.
  5. Is there a good reason why we're getting all of these commitments in such a short period of time? Is there something in the NCAA recruiting schedule that would lead to this? Is this some kind of snow ball effect that one signing is leading to another? Is all of this simple coincidence?
  6. As of right now with this commitment, we've passed La Tech for the best class so far. We have more total "points" but they have a higher average. https://247sports.com/Season/2019-Football/CompositeTeamRankings/?Conference=C-USA
  7. At 6'0" 200 lbs, he looks like a safety running around. Looks like he could put on another good 20 lbs.
  8. A 3 star a day keeps the losing seasons away.
  9. At this rate we'll have 30, 3 star players committed by next week.
  10. Looks like I picked a bad day to try to get to bed early.
  11. Fortunately for Fry, he never had to go through something like this again ... and he didn't have to wear such an awful jacket ever again.
  12. Great point. On the other hand, if we hired someone who wanted to run an offense based off a power running game ... um ... nevermind. Let's just not go there.
  13. Kuehne can redshirt during Fine's senior year and take over as a red shirt freshman. He would have four years to try and break all of Fine's records. However, we do have other talented quarterbacks that may have a say in that plan.
  14. I think there's a chance Williams could have been a decent quarterback if he had a strong team around him.
  15. I completely agree with you about coaches blocking kids from certain schools. I do worry about kids being able to transfer to another school at his own whim. I think this could quickly get out of hand and I bet within five years they are tweaking the rule in some fashion. I do have one nitpick ... except for certain situations, scholarships are one year deals. A coach doesn't have to take away a scholarship ... he just doesn't renew it. I guess this does work against my point in that if schools are only committed to kids for one year then perhaps the student should only be committed to the school for one year. Hmmm ... perhaps a more equitable answer would be that a scholarship acts like a contract. If a school commits to a player for four years (which I believe only D1 schools can do) then the player can't transfer without permission. If the school only offers a traditional scholarship for one year then the kid can transfer.
  16. The transfer rule is really scary. Football may start looking like basketball with guys transferring every season.
  17. I think four games is too many but whatever. I just hope it is strictly enforced.
  18. Great job, kid. Now don't get cocky.
  19. A few things to note about the schedule ... * Our off week isn't until Nov. 3rd which is week 10. We start with nine consecutive games. * We begin conference play on September 29th and immediately play five consecutive western division games (every western team except UTSA) until the off week. We play La Tech, So Miss, and UAB all within a four week period (UTEP mixed in as the second game of that four game stretch). So Miss and UAB games are back to back. After the off week we have three games: ODU, FIU, and UTSA. * Fall behind and loose tiebreakers in those first five weeks of conference play and there won't be a lot of opportunity to catch up late in the final three weeks. Take care of business those first five weeks and we'll be in a really good position for the division title. * When we open conference play against La Tech on September 29th, we'll be coming off our game at Liberty while La Tech will be coming off their game with LSU. * When we play So. Miss on October 13th, they will be coming off their bye week while we're coming off our UTEP game. November 10th we play ODU and both teams will be coming off their bye week. * Rice is playing 13 games this year with five OOC games. I guess they are getting their bowl game over early by playing Prairie View A&M on August 25th. They are playing 13 games in 14 weeks with only one off week on September 15th. * La Tech's off week is after their second game which means they close the year with 10 consecutive games including on eat Mississippi St. UAB finishes with 9 consecutive games including a game at Texas A&M. * Against the eastern division, we play FAU and ODU, La Tech gets FAU and WKU, So Miss gets Charlotte and Marshall, and UAB gets MTSU and Charlotte. Advantage UAB. * I think FIU could challenge FAU for the eastern division title and they get Rice and UTSA from the western division. (FAU gets UNT and La Tech).
  20. We drop Army and get the flexibility to add Houston. That makes the coaches happy and should make you happy. Having to do that at basically the last minute meant our options were very small.
  21. When do we start up the female sand volleyball team?
  22. I hate having the soccer game field inside a track as it puts the fans farther away from the action. However, I understand space is precious.
  23. Good question. Perhaps a tan color to match the exterior? You don't see a lot of dyed concrete which makes me think it might be really expensive for such a large project.
