  1. Bad decision by coach but I don't think he wanted his quarterback to make such an awful throw.
  2. It's an ok stadium. If that's what we could get I'd take it. However it does look like simply a bigger high school stadium. It would be nice to have some "bells and whistles" in our new stadium.
  3. Navy! Oh, wait ... Speaking of Navy, I just ordered my tickets for this game. I'll probably make it down for a few more games this year but I wanted to make sure I was at this game. I'm really looking forward to it. I'd love to see NT play at Notre Dame ... or at Michigan ... or have A&M come to town.
  4. Very cool!
  5. Wait a minute! That's the OLD helmet??? Arrrgghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just kidding. Very, very cool.
  6. After seeing that video I think I finally like the new shade of green and the new uniforms. I loved the old dark green but this shade has finally grown on me. The new uniforms look great.
  7. Pac 10 wants to leave? Fine! Just tell them they can't play any teams in any BCS conference. They can fill their schedules with playing each other and I-AA teams.
  8. Stupid article for several different reasons. For one ... how can anyone compare Oklahoma high school football to Texas or Florida? I've lived in Oklahoma for the past 5 years and it's nothing compared to Texas and I'm sure Florida.
  9. Looks like the old Odyssey game system. Much fun at the time.
  10. Thanks for the heads up. That was great. George and Hank do a better job broadcasting than most guys on TV. I do have to disagree with them on one point. At the end of the broadcast they said the four months until the Oklahoma game would go by quickly. It couldn't be going any slower than it is.
  11. WOW is right!!!! Amazing! Shocking! PITTSBURGH AT 15????? Who would have ever thought that????
  12. What I find interesting is it states our offensive line is our best position compared to the conference. That really makes me question the quality of this analysis.
  13. Dodge to join father at North Texasby: Billy Tucker posted: Monday, July 2, 2007 | Print Entry filed under: North Texas Mean Green, Michigan Wolverines The North Texas football program received a big 2008 commitment over the weekend, and it probably did not take too long for the news to spread to first-year head coach Todd Dodge. Quarterback Riley Dodge (Southlake, Texas/Carroll) decommitted from Texas to join his father and help propel the Mean Green back to the top of the Sun Belt Conference after suffering back-to-back losing seasons. Ex-Southlake Carroll and new North Texas head coachTodd Dodge, right, and son Riley, left, hope to celebrate another title at the next level.Dodge's situation is strikingly similar to that of 2007 ESPN 150 quarterback Clint Brewster (Littleton, Colo./J.K. Mullen). Brewster backed out on his early commitment to Illinois to join his father, Tim Brewster, after his hiring at Minnesota last year. In Dodge's case, his father had already been appointed head coach back in February when he made his original commitment to Texas. While he could be looking to help the elder Dodge ignite the 2008 class with his recent decision, he may also be assisting his own career. The 5-foot-11 quarterback is very productive with both his arm and legs in his current high school system. He possesses all the traits you look for in the position, except great size. His mechanics and overall throwing motion are good, and he is an accurate passer despite lacking elite arm strength. He can escape and improvise when the play breaks down and can be dangerous with his feet. Dodge's competitiveness, athleticism and savvy play could help the Big Green as a skill player if the transition to quarterback is not successful. We feel North Texas will be a much better fit for Dodge as a signal caller and offer him more opportunities at the position than with the Longhorns. The familiarity of playing for his dad, and the similar spread offense that Todd Dodge employed at Southlake-Carroll High School should only assist.
  14. It's just amazing to see some SMU fans downgrade UNT. Do they not realize they are just a irrelevant in the national media? In fact they are less relevant considering the press Dodge has brought to UNT. They still seem to be living 20 years in the past.
  15. It'll be very interesting to see how many of this recuiting class is red shirted.
  16. Considering they have to move when I-35 begins expanding in 2010 the timeframe seems like a requirement - not just a wish.
  17. fyi: Sam Houston was also from Tennessee. Folks from Tennessee played a big part in Texas winning independence from Mexico but Sam Houston played a much bigger role than Crockett.
  18. Thanks a lot! Now it's just a conspiracy.
  19. After looking at that now I'm even more confused about what shade of green we're supposed to be. *sigh*
  20. *YAWN* ... that was ... underwhelming.
  21. Top Five Reasons We Should NOT have a stadium like SMU: 5. We should have something distinctive! Not something just like another stadium down the road. 4. It wouldn't look right to have SMU and MUSTANGS painted in our endzone. We need North Texas and Eagles or Mean Green. 3. Ford Stadium? This is Dodge country now! Our stadium needs a HEMI. 2. We need something BETTER than SMU. 1. It's SMU for crying out loud!!!
  22. I watched it in on tv in '88 and thought UNT showed themselves well against NC.
