Stoops is a defensive guy and brought in a high powered offense to go with it.

I figure our TE's are all injuried ... seems logical considering the season we're going through.

The way this season has gone I can't say that I'm surprised. I feel bad for Riley having another injury. He's a gamer but his body keeps letting him down.

I'd love to have Leavitt but I'd have to do some in depth research into his "situation" because you can't have that bit us in the butt a year or so down the line. Coach Canalas should be able to provide some great insight into him. You're also right that it's too early to start worrying over names. We'll have plenty of choices if the time comes. I just hope we'll be able to offer higher salaries for a head coach and the assistants ... whether it's the current staff or a new staff.

There's a high rate of injury for gymnastics, I believe. I bet cost for insurance is high. The biggest savings might be the coaching salary and travel costs.

I wouldn't say so much we're unique as other schools have/need to be rebuilt. However, I agree that experience rebuilding would be a big plus when looking for a head coach.

He was the head coach at Austin College (in Sherman) in the late 80's. He recruited me to play there. He seemed like a really nice guy and seemed to know his stuff. However, I wouldn't want him to be our HC.

To me this season is only a win-win opportunity. Either the team does well and we're hopefully turning the corner ... or we're hiring a new coach. Looks like we'll be hiring the new coach. Dickey was able to save his job by going on a late run but I don't see Dodge being able to pull off the same feat.

The thing about bringing a high profile coach is not only do you have to pay his salary but you also have to pay the assistants he will want to bring in. That will be a big issue if we need to hire a new head coach this off season.

Things look bleak for the WAC right now but I wouldn't give up on Karl Benson. I wouldn't be surprised if he somehow pulls something off so the WAC remains viable. Creation of an eastern division could be in that plan. If they wanted Utah (or even Nevada) over us then it just tells me location is more important to the conference or TCU is really blocking us.

You've got to be kidding! I guess if there's serious talk about then they think it could work. I have doubts how long such a large and spread out conference would last.
