The highschool kid look pretty good and seemed to make some good decisions but this Granger kid has a heck of an arm. I'd say sign him!

Offensive line coach.

I was wondering the same thing. I think it'll come down to whatever Canales is more comfortable with. He might be more comfortable in the box where he has a much better view of what's happening on the field.

Not only will McCarney have a say but he's also hiring a defensive coordinator. So there will be two defensive coaches above Nelson who will have a say in personel decisions.

I agree. I like that better than SOW which is much, much better than North Texas.

Nelson coached for 10 years with Mac. He's the most likely to stay.

Rick Canales??

He better be careful about going into the soroities to meet people. He could get arrested doing that.

There was an interview with Rick from awhile back. He said the problem wiht busses is that while everyone arrives at different times everyone wants to leave at the same time. It may still be an option, though. He also said the walk way wouldn't be finished this year and it would have to be coordinated with TDOT. From what I remember it wouldn't be ready for a few years if at all. I'm sure they'll have some way to walk from Fouts to the new field. It just may be bear to get in and out of on game days.

When it's something serious they will always let the parent on the field.

Chico will be out of our price range by that time.

Will some of y'all be at the introductory press conference? You could ask some interesting questions and get Rick squirming a bit.

I go back and forth on McCarney. I see the positives and I see the negatives. Rick better be correct or it really could be his job that is seeking a replacement next time. This is especially true if Canales is successful somewhere else.

That's what I meant. With Fran you now what offense you're getting. With McCarney it would depend on the OC.

I will say that McCarney would be more likely to have an uptempo offense rather than Fran's option attack.

If true then it's interesting that we haven't decided yet. That would help explain why we haven't heard more definitive reports.

More and more reports about McCarney becoming our next coach. If he isn't getting the job you'd expect McCarney to issue some denials so it doesn't look like we turned him down. Therefore, unless there's a breakdown in the contract talks I'm thinking it is McCareny. I'm lukewarm on him. Hopefully he'll hire a strong offensive coordinator to balance him. Maybe that could be Canales but I don't know if he would want to return considering the situation. One thing I'm a bit confused on. RV said he wanted someone who would spend a lot of time in public to promote the club. McCarney doesn't seem like that kind of personality. He seems more of an old school football guy and a bit gruff but I could easily be wrong about him. I'm just thinking that if McCarney is the hire then RV has adjusted the qualities he was looking for.

The more I read about McCareny the less I'm thrilled.
