The best answer would be to contact Rick V or someone else in the athletic department. This could be one of those details that still needs to be worked out. Let them know about the need and hopefully they can do something about it.

Just for fun ... what if this happened?

You think? I'm just having fun but it could happen. -

Having some more fun ... there is a way where the final standings could look like this: ASU 5-3 LAF 5-3 WKU 5-3 UNT 5-3 FIU 5-3 LAM 5-3 MTSU 3-5 TROY 3-5 FAU 0-8 In the six way tie for first, the teams have the following records against the other tied teams ... ASU: 3-2 LAF: 3-2 UNT: 3-2 FIU: 2-3 LAM: 2-3 WKU: 2-3 In this scenario, we drop FIU, LAM, and WKU and compare the head to head records of the other teams: LAF: 2-0 UNT: 1-1 ASU: 0-2 So UNT finishes 2nd in the conference. However, I'm sure I could find a way for UNT to win a six team tie breaker but I need to get some sleep. -

So ... if ASU, LAF, WKU, and UNT tie at 6-2 ... and then ASU and WKU are dropped due to a worse record in the four way tie ... then UNT and LAF would then be judged but their records again ASU and WKU combined since they tied for 3rd place ... UNT would have gone 2-0 vs those teams while LAF went 1-1 ... UNT wins the conference! I think ... -
Suppose UNT wins out over ASU, Troy, WKU, and MTSU ... Suppose ASU beats FAU, MTSU, and TROY but loses to LAF and UNT ... Suppose LAF beats MTSU and ASU but loses to LAM ... Suppose WKU beats LAM, FIU, and TROY but loses to UNT ... If all the above happens then four teams tie for the conference title: ASU 6-2 LAF 6-2 WKU 6-2 UNT 6-2 I don't know what the tie breakers are but if you look at head to head you get the following: ASU: 1-2 LAF: 2-1 WKU: 1-2 UNT: 2-1 If you then took LAF vs UNT, LAF wins via head to head. Again, I have no idea what the tie breakers are ... and while we can win our final four games I don't know if we can four good games in a row for wins. I'm thinking we'll lose at least one more game due to our inconsistency. This is just a little fun exercise in what could happen and how wild the Sun Belt could wind up being this year.

What, I thought the Felt brothers wouldn't be playing until next year? Just a little joke ...

Derek Thompson said something after the game that Chico decided to let DT throw the ball more this week - to open things up offensively. Perhaps the probem in previous weeks was the young players, DT's lack of experience, and then DT's injury that kept the offense more vanilla. It seems that after the success tonight we should see more of the same next week.

I'm kinda surprised they don't have a special room for that.

That's not saying much at all. Any coach UNT has ever had >>>>> TD

RV has said in the past that he felt a head coach should be able to select his assistants. Maybe the only way RV could have gotten Dodge was by allowing his assistance to come along.

Gary could have handled it better but I don't blame him. I especially like his comments about the refs not being there ever again. It reminds me of a story about Tom Kimbrough, the lone time coach of the Plano Wildcats. I'm not sure if things are done the same way now but back in the 70's and 80's high school refs got a percentage of the gate for their pay. Therefore, refs loved being at Plano games because they drew large numbers. Whenever Tom Kimbrough disliked a ref he wouldn't yell, scream, or cuss him out. Instead, he would simply say "I got your name". That meant that ref would no longer work and Plano games. That's all he had to do.

If SMU is to move up the Big East is the perfect spot. I think that's a conference which has it's arrow pointing down even when being the lowest of the major conferences.
-
That was only a decade ago? Seems like that was much longer ago.

I can see B+ ... no worse than B-. They have some difference makers but simply lack depth.

I agree with what you are saying. For the most part the money goes into facilities or for university needs. It just that the big universities are getting it by pushing down on the smaller universities and then limiting the opportunity of the "smaller" universities to move up. If UNT was in one of the drivers seat it would be "dissappointing" and not "sickening".

The greed is just sickening.

Yep. That's how I feel. It's possible if our guys can grow up fast. -
The cess pool of realignment, media rights and $$$
NorthTexan95 replied to Baby Arm!'s topic in Mean Green Football
We've gone from one extreme to another. -
I don't agree with all his conclusions but I do agree with sentiment. There's a report today that they want to remove the two team limit per conference for BCS bowls. Every team and every conference is in a state of me, me, me. Greed, greed, greed. To hell with anyone else. Some say we're heading towards four, 16 team conferences. It may actually be much less than that. It's a very sad time college football is in right now. I hate getting the government involved but it may take that to setup some kind of oversight to get things under control.

If Wilson had success in his first three years I think he's the type who would have taken off for a bigger job, thus leaving an opening to hire McCarney.
-
I do kinda like his honesty. Reporter: "Did (name) get pulled because of performance or injury?" Wilson: "We had no points ..." I always thought Kevin Wilson would have been a good choice for us to hire. I just find it hard to believe we would have hired Dodge over him ... except for the fact that Wilson has very little personality and wouldn't be an effective sales person for the team. I just always thought a Kevin Wilson would have wanted more money that we could have paid at the time.

DT is basically a red-shirt freshman out there. He had some great moments in the game but he also had some bad one. He still throws off his back foot too often and he still has a slow delivery. He's doing OK overall but he needs to get better. DT may improve over this season and next and become a very good starter for us. He may not improve and will be passed up by someone else. It's all up to him.
