Sorry to hear Coach Mac is having to deal with such an issue. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like the eye glasses will be going away.

I noticed. They look more professional than what he had been wearing. Hopefully he is healing up. -
Awesome!

Joe Paterno Retiring at End of Season
NorthTexan95 replied to UNTflyer's topic in Mean Green Football
I disagree. If Joe Pa walked in and saw the crime as it took place then he should have immediately contact authorities. However, when he's made away of allegations after the fact the best way to handle it is to contact the proper authories at the university. That is how things work in a large organization ... or even a small one. It doesn't matter if they knew of previous allegations ... Joe Pa had no reason to contact the police himself. It's something that should be handled by the higher ups in the university. -
Joe Paterno Retiring at End of Season

But the issue is that if Joe Pa had "rushed to the authorities" and later it was revealed the allegations were false then he could leave himself or the school open to a lawsuit. Joe Pa did the best thing by contacting his superiors and leaving it to them to handle. As only a head coach Joe Pa should never be the one to contact the authorites in this situation. The AD should have contacted the school's lawyers and let the legal counsul determine how to handle the situation. Perhaps Joe Pa should have pressed his AD to get something done. Maybe he did but was told "the laywers are handling it". Who knows. The realy breakdown was with the AD and/or the legal counsil. -

UNT lands Lake Highlands Lineman Chase Walling
NorthTexan95 replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I think defensive linemen are the hardest to recruit but offensive linemen are a close second. -
Fixed it for you.

I get what you're saying but you've got to admit that it was also an ugly game. There was absolutely no offenseive execution.
-
It an exciting, hard hitting football game but it wasn't great football. There were way too many mistakes from both teams to want to watch that again.
-
Think again. 36-35 Ull with 1:06 remaining.

You are correct. No need to get overly worried or angry about what might or might not happen. I still think we're in excellent shape to move to CUSA. I would be more surprised if we didn't move up than if we did at this point. We could be invited to CUSA tomorrow, two weeks from now, six months from now ... who knows? Just be patient and just because we aren't being mentioned in every article doesn't mean we aren't going to be picked.

Is Seneca Wallace the next Seneca Wallace?

Is he wearing helmet stickers? -
My fear is that the Sun Belt will vote not to do this and that will give us a recruiting disadvantage against conferences that do. Hopefully the Sun Belt will allow it but each school will decide how much to do. Then it could be a recruiting benefit for us against other Sun Belt teams that don't pay it.

Source: West Virginia leaving Big East for Big 12
NorthTexan95 replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
The Big East doesn't have any incentive to "share" their BCS spot with CUSA and MW. They should be able to cherry pick the teams they want and remain a viable football conference. -
Was that the DT we'll see from now on? He showed a strong arm, touch when needed, and less deliberate on his throws. Or will we see more of the inconsistent DT? Hopefully the lights came on for DT tonight and will stay on.

Yep! Bowen is getting our defense to play at an early 2000's level. I hope he's here for a long, long time. Props to the adminstration for stepping up to the plate to pay for assistant coaches.

Good: Defense! Offense after the first drive or so. Big props to DT Bad: Special Teams - opening kickoff return ... missed field goal right before the half ... two personal fouls Ugly: Complaning about complaining. Really, it was a great night! I just wish more people could have been there to watch it.

I attended UNT in the early 90's but the Talons never seemed to be a strong force of any kind. I guess that hasn't changed.

1. Thompson silenced his critics for at least 1 game, great effort After the first drive or so those of us in the chat room were defining out negative feelings about DT. However, he played great the rest of the game. If ... and that's a bit IF ... he can be consistent and continue playing well then we may have our QB. Hopefully yesterday's game wasn't a mirage. 4. Who are Hudspeth and Freeze Coaches who are doing a pretty good job so far. But in the wacky Sun Belt who knows how they'll finish. 5. Hope Tomlinson and Akpunku fast recoveries Do we know their status? 8. NT reverses bad 4th quarter trend in a big way It was great! We got them down and put them away. I love great defense! 9. Rushing the field after game is great; lets expand the tradition and charge the "hill" and other tailgate areas and roundup the tailgaters at the end of the first quarter I can both sides of this issue but I say let the kids do it. We win enough and it may go away. The only fear is those students rushing through the opponents bench. Hopefully we won't have a bad situation occur at some point. 10. The talent in the Belt is not that different team to team I wouldn't be surprised by anything that happens the rest of the season. Winless FAU could win out in conference and I would only be a little surprised. WKU 3-1? I can see them finishing 3-5 or 6-2. It's wild. 12 Time to win an away game ... or two! Hey, look! Football talk!

I'll get this going. Yes, we have posts "complaining" about some aspect of the stadium. Those posts probably should be in the Apogee Stadium forum and a moderator could move them if they wish. But they are valid points and this is the best place for folks to get quick answers. But if you're going to complain about a lack of football talk then talk football! Complaining about complaining is not football talk. Really ... how can someone making their first post complain about a lack of football posts from others?
