I don't think the "common knowledge" is as common as you think. I remember his first year he went with an assistant coach to Cyril Lemon's home to flip him. I don't know what he did recruiting at Iowa St and I only have that one example from his time at UNT. However, lots of college head coaches don't do much recruiting and leave it to the assistants to do the heavy lifting.

Remember that during his time here he lost an eye, lost his brother, and got older. I think it all took a toll on him and the assistant coaches were unable to pickup the slack.

What sports could best be played now

Women's beach volleyball. It's always a good time for that sport. 🙂 -
With CUSA and AAC in the area, perhaps we should go ahead and merge the two together.

He did for that one glorious game.

Good question. I think that predates Roe. Smatresk may be the one behind it.

Mountain West may not have football

This may have more to do with those schools in California and not representative of most universities across the nation. Maybe. We'll see.- 1 reply

UConn football is more irrelevant than we are to a national audience.

I completely forgot about her. I guess she's not interfering in athletics so that's good.

They should sell UNT themed masks which should also be very durable to last the day.

The two punters wish this film had never been posted. 🙂

... Randolph Scott?

At 12 seconds per person ... 20,000 people at Apogee ... it would take 66.6 hours to file everyone through one machine. If you had ten machines it would take 6.66 hours. Twenty machines would take 3.33 hours. Let's say that 10,000 people want to enter one hour before kickoff. One machine could handle 300 people in one hour. You would need 34 machines to handle the 10,000 people in one hour assuming there's no delays. You might be better off letting every one enter and the having a crop duster fly over to sterilize everyone at once. Further research proves that SMU football would not need one of these machines as maintaining proper social distance is very easily done at their home games.

Hamilton signing with Cowboys as UDFA.

Perhaps his staff normally has so much going on they're not in the building for meetings.

Jeff Wilson re-signs with 49ers

Good for him but unless part of the contract was a signing bonus it's not guaranteed. He'll still have to make the team. -
Houston would own their division.

One of the biggest jerks was a guy in El Paso.

It's a shame some jerks not even associated with UNT protested and forces us to use NTSU. If we could have switched to UNT in 1961 it could have saved us years of announcers mispronouncing our university's name.

Cool!

Why ?!?!?!! Slippery Rock is the obvious choice.

I graduated in 1989 so fall of 1988 was my senior year when we beat Plano 26-0. I followed Plano football growing up in Plano in the 70's but my blood turned Black and Gold when East opened. John Clark was a great AD but things started to slip with Kimbrough and spiraled out of control under Brence (Brence was not well liked even when he was HC at Plano). I'm glad they went outside the district to hire the new AD. I was at that East - John Tyler playoff game. Tyler physically dominated the game and we were really, really, really lucky to get back into it with those onside kicks.
-
Plano ISD has needed an overhaul of their athletic department for a long time. Changing out the AD was the first step. Need to look at replacing the coaches at East and West.

I think Littrell would prefer that Bean's passing ability improves enough that they can make use of his outstanding running speed. We just haven't seen that yet. I think he'll get a long leash to start the season but I have doubts as to if he'll succeed.
