I think this is a good idea. My husband was on the sideline for most of a quarter last year (he was picked for the Texas Lottery promotion) and really enjoyed it. He thought watching the game from on the field was a great experience. I know I was jealous. GMG!

You're welcome! I will be in Tennessee Oct. 10 at relatives in a little town between Memphis and Nashville. I have no idea If I'll be able to see the game or not. I'm hoping somebody's got whatever it is you need for SunBelt TV. I'm not taking the laptop, but I will have my iphone. Does anyone know a way to at least listen to the game? GMG!

Good grief, they must be trying to give us old folks heat stroke! Why not Saturday evening? We'll probably show up to get our season tickets, but don't know how long 'll be able to take the heat. Just an FYI, I did confirm that Football 101 will be Thursday, July 30 at 6pm. GMG!

Since my husband is 1/4 Choctaw, I was also interested to know if Dr. B had any Native American heritage. I talked to her at an alumni event and asked about her interest in N.A. lit. She said it was an area that had received little research and decided to do her dissertation in that area since she didn't want to write about "a dead white man." As to tribal membership, my daughter is 1/8 Choctaw and is a card carrying tribal member. You must have an ancestor that was given a "roll number" to be a member and receive tribal benefits. I have N.A. heritage from both sides of my family, but my Cherokee ancestors stayed hidden in the mountains of Tennessee and were never put on the rolls in Oklahoma. GMG!

This is what I sent to both: I am a proud alumna of the University of North Texas ('74), as is my daughter ('05). I would like to like you to know that we both firmly support (insert appropriate bill) authorizing a woefully overdue athletics fee for the University. This fee would enable the replacement of a 57 year old stadium that is beyond repair. The students of UNT voted to authorize this fee and improve their University. Please support this bill allowing the building of our new stadium, a much needed addition to the UNT community. Thank you. Who IS this nut case and what does he care? Not even an alum?!?! GMG!

Are we sure about the changes? Why wouldn't they show up on the website? These people drive me crazy! I'm trying to plan a trip to D.C. this fall and I need to know! GMG!

We'll either head up 121 to 35E through Lewisville, or to Grapevine Mills to 2499 to 407 and up past Lantana to Denton (the scenic route). I don't want to get anywhere near TMS. GMG!
