This is about as suspicious as: 1. Jim McDougall having a massive heart attack in the Fort Worth Federal Prison...a possible clinton-cide. (remember Whitewater) 2. Ron Brown's plane flying into a mountain in the Balkins....then both air controllers committing suicide (i mean clinton-cide). (going to testify against the clintons when he got back to the USA). 3. Vince Foster's suicide in Fort Marcy Park....another clinton-cide....(was he actually doing Hillary.....ugggggg) Now...... #4.....Ken Lay.....did the clintons have money in enron???? hummmmmm!!! There are better conspiracy mean green theorists than me on this board.... Any comments Plummeangreen???SilverEagle???

NT hires athlete development associate

Texas Tech has an attorney for a FB coach......... IMHO let this guy from OU, who was an Academic All American in FB, who has seen what it is like to do get the job done in probably one of the best fund raising factories in America put together a similar program at UNT. This guy has 2 years experience at OU!!! Why in the name of Allah would you want someone from UNT to put together a "Big Time" program who has never been around one???? -
ArkstFan-- You bring up some good points but miss the main point. 1. C-USA schools are able to receive more money from the various revenues of TV & bowl games. The public is, probably, more familiar with the school in C-USA than SBC. 2. C-USA schools get more revenue because of the quality of teams in FB and BB. When the #1 SBC school has to play the #4 C-USA team in the N.O. bowl what does that tell you about the strength of the conference and the number of teams they are able to supply to the "plethora" of bowl games?? 3. SBC schools do not have the opportunity to share in the wealth of the success of the other SBC schools because .... how can I say this politely.....this conference su@@@!! The SBC is lucky to have at least one team, much less two with a winning record in football by the end of December. In BB the SBC just gets one invititation to the "Big Dance" and the SBC has never advanced past the first round. Marshall was 4-7 last year and 6-6 the year before "but" they get all the revenue sharing just like Baylor does in the Big 12. You think Baylor wants to leave the Big 12??? or Northwestern leave the Big 10??? The point is that a better conference will bring in additional revenue from everyone who is successful in your conference. That is why it is important for UNT, especiallly, to get out of the SBC!!!

DeepGreen-- You are correct to say that the MO Valley teams were superior to the SWC in the 60's. In 1967 NTSU, who was considered the step child of the Mo Valley in BB, beat Texas A&M at the old "Snake Pit" (I do not remember the score) but A&M was the SWC champs in BB (I believe) in 1966. It was a great game but the stands were only half full. It was not until 1968 when you had to get the "Pit" an hour ahead of time to get a seat. In 1967 NTSU lost to the U of H by 2 or 3 in the Hawaii Classic. This was when UH had Elvin Hayes who beat #1 UCLA in the Astro Dome that same year. I do not know how many of you saw any games in the old "Pit" in '68, '69 & '70 but that place would shake from all the stomping of the feet on the wooden stands and yelling in that accoustically challenged building.

untgirl04-- I truely appreciate the offer to get painted but I think it would scare the s@@@ out of my grandkid, my wife would have me institutionalized and if my church found out I might get excommunicated. Now, if you can find four other Methodists I will bring the fifth.

A Little Trivia - Who Woulda Thunk

ScreamingEagle66-- You have no argument with me on your last statements. 1. Concerning #2: Since Coach Fry departed (perhaps I should have said, "after Coach Fry departed." 2. During Coach Fry's tenure at NTSU we went from the MVC to Independent. If you remember during this time frame there were "very strong" Independent teams and a lot more than what there are now. Since other MVC teams were dropping out of the MVC, at this time, NTSU did so to pursue the second best alternative other than the SWC. At that time this move seemed appropriate. 30 years down the "pike" this move was probably not in our best interest. 3. We did have a strong BB program for a period of time but could not capitalize on its continued success like other schools such as Gonzaga. 4. Wichita State is thinking about going back to FB: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/foot...e.ap/index.html Here is what UTEP/FAU would tell them: Hire a Howard S (FAU) or Mike Price (UTEP). Here is what UNT would tell them: Hire an assistant coach. If you are looking for revenue hire a proven leader who will make your school into a winner. On the flip side, if you are looking "just" to play football for Saturday night entertainment in Wichita, Kansas then hire an assistant coach somewhere, hope he has good P.R. skills and hire some assistants that don't get into screaming matches with supporters in the stands at halftime. Unfortunately, our current situation is our current situation. As one of my preachers once said, " there is nothing you can do about yesterday but you can start today to make a new tomorrow." (someone stop me I am full of great advise today....free advise from Dr. ee) -
A Little Trivia - Who Woulda Thunk

IMHO, you can not keep blaming SMU, Rice, TCU etc etc etc......keeping NTSU out of the SWC as the demise of our athletic program 30 years ago (or so)!!! 1. Winning still comes down to coaching, P.R. and recruiting. 2. Since Coach Fry NTSU/UNT has had a losing record verses an overall winning record, up to Coach Fry's departure to Iowa. 3. The BOR put NTSU into the situation it is currently in by "dumping" us into D-1AA and kept giving the athletic department a "spartan" budget. However, there have been other schools that have climbed out of D-1AA into the D-1 arena and have been more sucessful than UNT. 4. The BOR has kept giving our athletic department a "spartan" budget for the last 30 years and has not allowed us to get the coaches we deserve. Face it, UNT is nothing more than a stepping stone for coaches who want to move up. Well, errrrr, in our case since Coach Fry it has been the "death bell" for all those who have taken the coaching position at UNT!!! I do not know of one coach who actually advanced after being fired from UNT after Coach Fry. For those who keep blaming the private schools, 30 years ago, for the demise of our current situation take a Midol and go lay down for a while (this medical advise if free from Dr. ee). -
Scroll down to photo gallery of the World Cup and tell me that you would not like to be at the game......I have not seen these at our games. http://service.spiegel.de/cache/internatio...,423324,00.html

This has to be one of the most exciting World Cups that I have ever seen. Since 1964 England has never beaten Sweden in World Cup. Last week with five minutes remaining England is up 2-1 and the drunken English start singing God Save the Queen. With about 30 seconds left in the game Sweden ties the score. Now Sweden's record againt England is 8-0-12 (or something that close). The English start fights outside the stadium after the game. The English started fighting the Germans in some beer garden after England beat some team 1-0 last week that they should have scored 3-6 goals on. I can see why people get so excited over this sport......90 minutes of pure non-stop action.....on the field.........fights off the field. This is better than the NCAA BB tournament.

Glad to see Sturns' return to the team. Good move by both Coach Jones and Sturns.

Here is an easy comparison of why we play the likes of OU/UT etc..... Think of UNT as an "underdeveloped" 3rd World Country (a low mid major) getting foreign aid. UNT needs the money to prop up our puppet dictators (BOR).

Interesting discussions from these boards from the major conferences. Appears that the B.E. is ready to expand and take 1 maybe 2 C-USA teams. Rumors of the PAC-10 maybe take Utah.... Who the heck knows..... Evidently, it will come down to alumi financial support and politics...... http://www.ncaabbs.com/forums/bigeast/phpbb/

My next door neighbor did this. His vision is phenominal at distances of over a mile. However, less than a mile he is blind as a bat. His wife took out a multimillion dollar policy on him and keeps moving the furniture, daily, hoping he will kill himself. With enough GMG donations we can send cases of these at home lasik kits to all our opponents.

In the next 2, or so, years the Big East will expand from 8 to 10 football playing schools. who do you see going where from the different conferences to balance out? If the Big East takes ECU then who does C-USA takes and will this leave the opportunity for Texas State to move to the SBC with the departure of one of the SBC schools?

ArkStfan- You may not personally like the President of UND, as by your statements of calling him a lying SOB, but the question is: 1. Do you support what he is doing, against the NCAA, for all the schools that have indian names??......now this is just a "yes" or "no" answer that does not require any of your personal feelings injected about the man's legitimate / illegitimate birth parents.
