  1. Devil = Fran????? Mike Price = wins for UTEP Bobby Knight = wins in BB for TT Barry Schwitzer = wins for OU Rick Neuheisel = wins for CU who is not to say that Fran = wins for UNT (if this works out....just hypothetical) Meaning no disrespect but what we have now = 38-55 So what if we get one of the "bad boys of college football." Sounds like you want to bring in another High School coach, college OC or AC....... Time to bring in a "Bad Boy of College Football" to turn this program around!
  2. IMHO, Coach Fran would be a good fit for UNT. 1. Hopefully, all coaches are looking to move up the ladder of D-1A. I am sure that Coach Dickey would like to move up the D-1A ladder. Other than Coach Fry name one UNT coach that took the next big step up the D-1A ladder after departing the hollowed grounds of Fouts Field. Fouts Field is like the last stop in a once promising college football journey that has taken unsuspecting football families to a place called the Twilight Zone. 2. Some coaches like Mike Price or Frank Solich (sp) may have learned valuable lessons with their previous employers and their current universities are glad to have them and I am sure that the Prices and Solich families are glad that they have a second chance, even though it is in the mid-majors. 3. Coach Fran, who makes more than a cool million per year faced with making nothing or $250,000 may consider an offer from a lowly mid-major like UNT. 4. So what if he only stays 3 or 4 years at UNT.....do you really expect any UNT coach to have a tenure longer than that (other than Coach Dickey)? 5. Remember......when Coach Fry left to go to Iowa.....UNT had an overall winning record......in the post Coach Fry era UNT has won about 47% of our games.....not too impressive. Coach Dickey is something like 38-55 at UNT. 6. I would support UNT getting a "name coach" who people refused to give a second chance. IMHO, this would be better than getting another OC or AC or some high school coach. Price has turned around UTEP. In BB, Coach Knight has turned around TT.
  3. If Texas A & M Coach Franchione has another sub .500 season --- and he already is 16-19, will A & M fire him?? If North Texas does not have the predicted 7-4 season as College Football News predicts and we have another sub .500 season would our admin fire Coach Dickey and go after Franchione?? Nobody thought that Mike Price would end up at UTEP and Stolch (sp) at Ohio.
  4. http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-bigten18.html just interesting......
  5. I find Sams or Wal-Mart carrying all my sized apparel for UNT in my size: "Medium" for the summer and if I want to put on additional clothing then "Large." I have found that the sizes XL, XXL and XXXL are in very limited supply or non-existent in Sams, Wal-Mart and Target lately but after speaking to one managers he has assured me that they will be stocking up in August for the beginning of football. For those who are wearing the XXL and XXXL sized jerseys the only place you will be "mean" green is in the sweaty & un-airconditioned johns underneath Fouts Field on game day, in September, when the temperature hits 90 degrees. Make sure you eat lots of meat during the "tail gates" so the Pony fans will leave us alone in our natural habitat. Perhaps some "hilltoppers" will get arrested in our parking lot "voiding" beside their BMWs. For some of you try 1-800-Jenny Craig.....that way you will be able to get your hinnies into those seats at the "PIT" that were designed for the 1970 backside and not for the big V-8's that you carry around, now. I may e-mail RV to provide complimentary cans of Lysol spray in the "johns" just like you have at home.....not unless your wife "makes" you use some sort of "foo-foo" version of amonia cover-up spray.
  6. This was not as good as the Coke Boy...... But a good break from all the trash talk and other conversations. (for those of you still trying to figure out if this is true......well.....no)
  7. Andrew Ross By: Houlton Schools Date: July 14, 2006 Houlton, Maine- Houlton, Maine running back Andrew Ross has signed a scholarship to play for the Mean Green of UNT as announced today. Ross led the Caribous in his Sophmore, Junior and Senior years in rushing with a total of 5,874 yards. According to Jim Larkins, his high school coach, Ross not only excelled in the classroom but was the team captain in his Senior year. The 2,645 yeards he gained last year is a state record. He also caught 12 passes for 215 yards and was 14 of 25 passing for 187 yards. Larkins said that Ross was not highly recruited after suffering one minor fracture to his right arm, in his Junior year, playing hockey against the Junior French National Team in Lyons, France. Larkins said that Ross' size of 5'2" and 125 pounds was not encouraging for major colleges to recruit him because of possible durability and injury factors. Even though he runs the 40 in 4.1 and the 100 yards in 9.98 no colleges offered him any full full rides. His class mates call him Speedy Gonzales. After he gets the ball he is really hard to see and is compared to former Dallas Cowboy Tony Dorsett in his ability to cut in and out of trouble. In his Freshman year he lost his left arm in a snowmobile accident. Ross' biometric left arm, according to Ross is 100% most of the time. One antidote that Ross tells is when they were playing a game in Lewiston (Maine), in his Junior year, he was carrying the ball in his left arm and the arm malfunctioned and the ball exploded and he was still able to carry a six inch piece of pigskin 55 yards for a touchdown. He has had to have his hand removed a couple of other times from linemen's face mask when the fingers jam, in the winter. Andrew's great grandfather was one of the Munchkins in the Wizard of Oz and his sister has appeared on the Littlest Groom. Ross is the tallest of his family at 5'2". His father and mother are both 4'9" and his sister is 4'7". Bill Ross, Andrew's father still holds the the record in Austrailia for being tossed 17' 9" in a dwarf toss in Melbourn in 1979.

  15. Bush, like DD....we have for at least one or two more years. no more politics....
  16. Ken Lay was a card carrying Democrat!.....so how can you blame Bush.....? Clinton.....Lay........get the connection? Lay.........Clinton....hahahahaha......well, enough said about that.
  17. The Sun Belt Conference is lucky to have two teams at the end of the season that have winning records. That is why it is important for UNT to be consistant winners of the SBC so when the next conference shake up happens.....because.....like "Reaganomics" UNT may only gain on the "trickle down effect" of other teams leaving other conferences. IMHO the next conference wanting to expand its football playing schools is the Big East. As to, paraphrase part of a quote what Clayton Williams once said when he was running for governor of Texas in the mid-80's.......he was refering to a question on rape.....(and I paraphrase) ......rape is like fog so you might as well let it happen until it clears up......
  18. Truthfully.....is this any new information that, we as the Mean Green Nation, did not already know??? When you have a D-1AA conference that is ranked ahead of the SBC, at the end of the season, what does that tell you of the "quality of teams in the conference?" Heck, last year the SBC only won a handful of OOC games.... The author of the article is correct in implying that there must be a couple of teams rise to the top of this "barely legitimate D-1A conference" to be able to move up similar to what Boise State accomplished by being invited to the WAC. Until there is another shake up of conferences to gain membership then, as we all know, UNT "must" rise to the top not only in football but more importantly in attendance.....and keep the top position.
  19. An Aggie was driving his pick up down in the Hill Country when he was side swipped by an 18-Wheeler. The Aggie managed to jump from his truck before it went over the cliff and exploded. The 18-Wheeler stopped and the trucker came running to the Aggie who had lost his left arm. The Aggie was screaming....."my truck - my truck.....". The trucker said, "Dude, you lost your left arm and you are worried about your truck??" The Aggie started yelling, "Oh no, my Timex, my Timex."
  20. Aggie #1 meets Aggie #2 in the doctor's office. Aggie #1: Hey Buddy how come you are here?? Aggie #2: To get circumcised! Aggie #1: When that happened to me when I was born I could not walk for a year. Aggie #2: faints
  21. 1. Rice 2. Whoever plays Notre Dame 3. Whoever plays Michigan 4. Whoever plays Oklahoma 5. Any D-1AA school vs. D-1A (except for UNT)
  22. Anyone have any idea(s) how many OOC upsets the SBC is going to have this year??
  23. For those who like the conspiracy theories involving UNT....here is one that involves BYU and TCU. http://www.sltrib.com/sports/ci_4006965
  24. Seriously, I feel more sorry for all the people he defrauded from their retirement than I do for Ken Lay. Ken Lay has already received his "eternal judgement" the instant he died from the only indivdual who does eternal judging. His fate is sealed. The people he defrauded must either forego retirement, move to smaller homes, not pay for their kids college education........the list is almost endless. I personally do not know anyone who worked for ENRON.....perhaps someone does, in the Mean Green Nation, who would be willing to share a story.
  25. Ibleedgreen---- This board is not about politics???? Then we should stop talking about Jackson, RV, RF, DD & the BOR???? hahahahahahahahaha
