Why worry about it? In our life time we will probably never see a true D-1 Playoff system due to current BCS controls. In reality, the US Congress would have to step in to "de-regulate" the NCAA/BCS bowl selections and belive me the money schools will keep the money, keep tough sanctions against mid-major programs (because the can) and ensure that no mid major program will ever play for the national championship....and if by some freekish nature an undefeated mid major program sneeks in they will end up playing for #3 or #4 in the nation, not, #1 or #2 in the very best case senario. The ones who have the money and power (BCS) make the rules (that favor them). Being a mid-major ain't so bad.....heck, all the posts on the board support moving up to another mid-major program (CUSA-WAC). The general concensus over the last years have conceded that UNT has virtually NO chance of ever moving up to a BCS program. Fun to talk about? Yes......Reality? No! There are more important things to worry about like, who is ponying (no pun intended) up the $$ for our new 35k-40k stadium? and can the SBC powers that be get a "second" guaranteed bowl tie in to the plethora (everyone goes to a bowl with at least a 6-6 record) of meaningless bowl games. Well, the only good thing about them is the payout for the schools and another chance to win a game.

college athletics, as well as the public sector, is a place for second or third chances. you do not have to look further than one of our own bb assistants, coach price. what a blessing he is for our program. personally, i did not think too much of rf after the incident in the stands with se but everyone has to move on in a professional manner. we do not know what sort of pressure that certain jobs hinder our pysche but now rf wants to get back in the game. we should only wish him and others like him the best of luck in present and future job pursuits.

7-5. Improved offense and defense. Coach TB recruited some excellent Juco players on "D" and with the addition of Coach DeLoach UNT will be much more competitive. UNT's offense will have that 1st year transition of the spread offense under their belt & the outstanding "O" freshmen will be much more improved in their 2nd year. Look for QB Vizza to cut his INT's, at least, in half of what he threw last year & in the top 10 in the nation in passing yard. Look for one of our backs to gain 800+ yards.

meangreen61- what sort of stats do you expect of a freshman? i would think the same as howerton and possibly knox. it is not too often NT gets some sort of phenom player as white.

the kid who wrote this is probably a freshman or sophmore taking a journalism class for a grade and got assigned, by his prof., to do something sports worthy. the kid probably got his info off a couple of sports links and did a compilation story. evidently by what his opinion is he has never attended a UNT sports event. i would not get all bent out of shape on this article ....it only has simplicity and no original substance.

Was FIU the best offer that these guy received? I would be more worried if a bunch of BCS schools were after them.

pmg, I really don't think playing one division 1AA team, a year, is going to destroy the program......unless you are someone like Michigan and get beat by App State in the "Big House." Ok, their conference teams laugh at them, give them crap for one year and App State gets to sell a "ton" of mechandise for that year. Got to disagree with ya kingdl..... Bavarian women are beautiful and believe in keeping in shape. Some of it may have to do with the ban on steroids in the growing of the beef, pork, chicken and rabbits. I would rank German women, overall, better looking than what I now see in Texas. German beer is so much more flavorful and cold to.....I believe by law the Germans have to keep their beer around 40 degrees or so. Naturally their beer is not carbonated and pasturized like the s*it you get here. The Germans, by law, have to make it like they did three or four hundred years ago. You can literally tell the difference. Right now the dollar is worth about $1.55 to "One Euro." When I was over there a couple of years ago it was about even....1:1. I would like to go back but not at that exchange rate. A friend of mine lived in Munich in the '80's, for two years, and I believe he said $1.00 could get you 3 Deutschemark (sp).

I was talking to a German yesterday and he made some interesting points: 1. He like the U.S.A. 2. He likes our low tax rates so he can make more money. What he does not like: 1. Funny, he said that if you buy a BMW or any other "fast" car in Germany you can drive it as fast as you want on the autobaun and in America you can only drive it 70 mph......."so why buy one if you can't drive it to its performance level?" 2.
