Dom was 4-8 on 3-pt shots and JW made one.....that was all the 3 pointers NT made during the game. Appears that Dom had the hot hand that night from "down town." I hope ya'll, SUMG & CBL, are not condeming unmade shots as unexcusable or just selected shots from selected players at selected times. If that is the case "all" of basketball is condemed. In reality this particular shot that ya'll are condeming Dom, as irresponsible/inexcusable, did not lose NT the game. However, if Dom would have made the 3-pointer and NT still lost the game this conversation would have never happened but I am sure that ya'll would have found another particular shot by someone else to blame as being inexcusable. If the both of you are suggesting such then you must look at "all" the other missed shots by all the other NT players in the same light. It is easy, after the game, to second guess players and coches.......and my friends......that is why we call JJ, Coach and we call you bloggers.

CBL, it is obvious, to me, that you probably never played organized sports "with a clock." BB, just like FB is an ever changing dynamic, second by second, and if JJ felt that those five players at the end of the game represented the best chance to win......then......i will accept his decision without second guessing him. JJ has brought respectability back to NT BB and I for one am glad that we have him and his staff.

nobody will know until wednesday what players will be going to what programs. as earlier reported some of our jucos are looking to being selected by other programs. i would imagine that the final 72 hours or so is like sifting grain. players who are waiting for one fb program may have to take their 2nd, 3rd or 4th choice for the obvious reasons. i am looking for another good recruiting class by the coaching staff.

Well guys, I hate to admit when I am wrong but after Buford Julip's recent post on who started the ASU game I am convinced that nobody, in this current football program, can remedy our current situation. 1. I think I am the one on "green cool-aid" watching this thing we call NT football. 2. When I think of NT defence I now go to de fence in my back yard and blow industrial chunks into my neighbor's back yard & blame it on his dogs. 3. emmitt is right, 2+2=4 I, for one, along with the other financially secured alum, on this board & off, will start a "Buy-Out Fund" for TD and staff and a concurrent fund to hire another really good coach this time for about $750K to $1,000,000 per year on a four year contract.....let us not forget incentives, clothes, car, expenses & etc. as extra at the end/beginning of the year. If the new coach is successful we will have to "pony-up" another $1,000,000 or so per year on a multi-year contract. Naturally, if some of you do not have deep enough pockets just message me on this board anonymously and I will not post your name because that would be like getting kicked in certain parts of your anatomy. I know this venture is "kinda" like a crap shoot but what else can we do but reach in our deep pockets to pull this off?? NT does not have any substantial funds to do this without going begging to the state legislature & we all know those guys down in Austin are Big 12 supporters. If we can't come up with the millions (and reserves just in case the new coach is successful) in cash then it is back to square #1 at this poor state school we call NT: crap shoot for another hc in 3 years from some conference's assistant ranks. ah.....coaching...... how 'bout $1,000,000 man june jones down the road......hummmm......what was his record?? how 'bout smu's bb coach who won a national championship??? there are others but don't want to bore anyone. you can be an excellent coach and have sub par players but you can't make players heavier overnight, make them run faster overnight....... nt is a mid-major in the sbc and that is what coach td recruits against....not the bcs. for anyone to try to compare nt with any bcs school is insane. nt does not have the greatest football tradition for winning teams over the last four decades....heck, nt almost dropped football at one time.....and if some of you remember nt went 1-aa. the football program will have to progress as what coach jones has done with the basketball program. let me remind some of you ...... some of you were calling for the dimisal of coach jones......now look what he is doing. i will have to agree with "cr" on the progress of the team last year. the asu game appeared that the team was finally jelling as a unit. nt's "o" line (let me see.....made up of fresh/soph "starters") were doing a great job and for anyone to say that they have not seen "any" progress last year probably only read the stats in the paper.....and for the td jump off the ship rats.....you probably quaffed too many 12 oz'ers to notice. personally, i am thrilled that td has a five year contract to rebuild.

Why are ya'll so down on the BB team?? 1. SHSU is a legitimate power in the SLC and won over 20 games last year.... 2. HBU was a very good team despite their winless record. Heck, they have a transfer from Purdue and one from Colorado State that looked really good. I would say HBU is the best winless team I have seen play. Their achilles heal........no depth. 3. Josh White....I think he handles the ball really well and has NO trouble bringing the ball up the court. 4. JJ's team has more depth than any BB team I have seen at NT in a long, long, long, long time & probably the best depth in the SBC. The team does not give up (look at NMSU last year), they play both halves (we can all remember the time they only played good one half and would fall apart the other half), we are now winning the close ones when we were loosing the close ones......heck, I see a lot of positives about this team and the way JJ has put together a winning program. 5. What are we? 7-2 and ya'll are complaining????.....
