I like his reasons why he burglarized: dope, ADD (hyperactivity strain, i guess), anxiety, molestation from a babysitter and president bush. Who he did not blame was himself!!! I could respect him a little more if had said, "yea, I was stupid and thought i could get away with stealing." Since he was tried by his peers in court then he got what he deserved by law. just kidding about bush......

Credit Cards
eulesseagle replied to eulesseagle's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
the second paragraph of the ny times article: Now Congress is moving to limit the penalties on riskier borrowers, who have become a prime source of billions of dollars in fee revenue for the industry. And to make up for lost income, the card companies are going after those people with sterling credit. let me see......limit penalties for riskier borrowers. .....................make up the difference from those who have sterling credit. purely redistribution.........what else would you call it??? taking from the haves and redistributing to the have nots? edit: does it really matter where legitimate news originates be it from liberal or conservative newsprint......or.......be it from a socialistic rag to a neo nazi rag? Is this a legitimate story that you may find in a conservative link?? Sure it is. Some on this board have been scoulded for posting material from all souces of news links then claiming the link was either too liberal, too conservative, too socialistic and too extreme far right. eulessismore, perhaps some people on this board read the full spectrum of links to obtain news and ferret out that which is nonsense. One only has a myopic set of opinions if one only allows themself to read one of many viewpoints. That is stagnation of thought ... not growth. -
Credit Cards

SE66- Opps, I guess you are right. We should feel a little better that we are now going to subsidize those who have little to no responsibility to handle personal finances by getting gouged a bit more on credit card interest rates. Hummm, similar to those who over purchased homes who will receive federal help (our tax dollars supporting irresponsibility). Egalitarian, equality & brotherhood for all of us. I sure as heck do not mind paying those who can work but choose not to so they can collect welfare (our tax dollars supporting irresponsibility). What I really like is supporting people who cross our borders, illegally, having a baby then collect a nice government check (our tax dollars supporting irresponsibility).....a banking friend of mine says that some bring in social security checks of up to $2,000 per month and deposit/cash them with a Mexican Consulate I.D.. I would guess that some will go to Western Union and send some of our tax money to Mexico to family. Eventually what will occur will be those who are on the cusp of working paycheck to paycheck take advantage of the government "social(istic)" welfare option because they can make about the same without the responsibility. Well, you know what that means? One more person or family that we will have to support (our tax dollars supporting irresponsibility). I saw this were my mother's family grew up in Shannon County, Missouri. Government introduced welfare and a once prosperous community became the third poorest county in the country in one generation. Just a bunch of lazy hillbillies. Of course being from there I can call 'em hillbillies to their face and they won't do anything but laugh. You call 'em a hillbilly and they will make sure you leave town with about the same number of teeth or less than what they have. I, too, carry zero balances on my cards, except one. I just rotate them to keep an annual active balance on them throughout the year. Since we have been programmed to accept government socialistic programs like welfare, farm and transportation subsidies and now housing and credit card subsidies .... well, hope and change is here. -

Us Guns In Mexico
eulesseagle replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
KRAM1- are you saying that the govt is not truthful to us (again)? wow, what a surprise. -
This article should have been RED LIBERAL MORAL RELATIVISM ATTACKS CHRISTIANITY (again). This is basically what this (green) beer guzzling dis(cuss)ion is all about. There are those who support gay marriage (Moral Relativism: MR) and those who do not (Christian Values: CV). There are those who say that the Conservatives including the Christian Right exhibit extremist views. To this I say: The Bible has never changed in over 2000 years. Therefore, it must be man who has changed and moved further away. A nation that was founded on Christian values 233 years ago has now accepted: 1. All forms of homosexuality as being normal and a protected class of individuals....punishing those who object (MR). 2. Now, in front of the U.S. Congress a "Pedophile" protection act as a protected class of individuals....to punish those who object (MR). 3. All other races, genders & morally divergent views as protected....punish those who object (MR). 4. Verbal hate crimes (MR). 5. Federal judges to over rule the majority vote of the people. IF All things "ARE" equal under the law and justice is blind why do we need certain classes of individuals having "MORE" rights than someone else? That is one of the objective of moral relativists isn't it? The other objective is to persecute & prosecute those who do not believe and hold the same values as you do. One only has to see another example of the Red Liberal Left's Moral Relativism toward C.V.'s of Gov. Palin or the Boy Scouts of America. On this board one does not have to delve deep into who holds the bedrock foundations of our founding fathers and those who hold the red liberal values of relativism.

CG- Where do you come to the conclusion Ms. California is anti-gay?? All she said was that she believed marriage should be between a man and a woman. That is not "bashing" anyone. Evidently, you can not come up with inflamatory anti-gay statements she said so, as a "red liberal" you have to invent something that was not said or psychoanalize something that was not there. If you want inflamatory read and listen to the vile that your comarade in arms Perez Hilton has said. That is discrimination and you, CG, aint up in arms about what the "red left" says about the right but "only" what the "right" says. "Truth in Lending?" Not in your vocabulary. Now you can go have another beer.

mgd, flyer & ogs as much as I agree with you on raising teacher salaries that is just a "pipe dream" that politicians use every election cycle to get the teacher vote. Never happens...never will. the federal govt will continue to tell states what to teach for fear of retribution of loooooosing the fed funding. in the mean time decent teachers and some not so decent teachers are forced to teach non-compiant (i tried not to say idiots) students who do not want to be in school who are there to disrupt any, if any, learning experience. teachers have told me if they get five to ten minutes of quality teaching in per class time they are doing excellent. get these non-compliant types out of the classroom and into the workforce. well, that will never happen either because it may hurt their self esteme and we don't want little johnny to feel bad, do we? Heck, after graduation or before he will be taking my order at burger king and hopefully he can remember the #1 i ordered long enough for his finger to touch the picture screen of the #1. the govt is not going to do anything with the illegals that get "free" education and everything else over here. in the next twelve months look for congress to naturalize this new "voting block." they already strain our local and state governments for "FREE" education, hospitalization, and welfare at our expense. we set up another layer of administrators for ESL, special educ, spanish only classes, counselors, nurses & teachers....no telling what else we give away. as ogs said some in the el paso area go home to mexico for the night and come back the next day. well......this ain't going to change either.

You want to find out how great socialized medicine is? Google the health care industries in Canada and England. You can read the various papers from around the world and get into their archives and read the stories yourselves. What has the government run sucessfully and you want them to run health care??? what the heck for??? Currently, England and France are telling Obama not to get into socialized health care. Of course you will not read this in American newspapers. That is why it is important to read the papers of other countries. You will find out more about what is happening here in their "rags" than what the "red star newspapers" in the US give you.

oldguystudent- hopefully, we all know how it works through some form of association with the problem. As we both admit, local & state govts are forced to teach what the fed govt "mandates" you to teach in politically correct texts that has been given great "literary license" (as a former ntsu/unt english teacher would tell us when one could no longer recognize the rewriting of the story). ogs....do you really think thowing more money, at this so called manipulated problem, is going to fix anything??? heck no. more money toward the problem only creates another "layer" of jobs for more politically correct administrators to remind you to teach a test so the school can get some sort of award and stay off the "crap" list of underachieving schools. In the meantime the teachers do their "pavlovian" duties.

oldguystudent is correct in analyzing schools are a failure that have degenerated steadily over the last 30 + years. School administrations could care less if they had to either retain your lazy butt, again in the same grade, or drop you a grade thirty plus years ago. If you really showed no progress then maybe the administration would make you take a course with the "special class" with the "special kids" as they were once called. There was no discrimination in all this because all the "Fred Moore" schools did the same with their students. BTW, for those too young to remember most of the black segregated high schools in Texas were called Fred Moore High School. There was a guy who attended FMHS who lived across the street from me at Perrin A.F.B. that would tell me all about it when we would shoot hoops at the base gym. As far as discipline the Catholic school was the toughest then FMHS followed by us segregated whites. My point is that several occurances have happened over the last 30+ years that you all know about but because of your political correctness training are too afraid to make mention. 1. Once the state and local school boards/administrations started taking "federal money," in the 60's, the quality of education began to decline. 2. School administrations do not use the "board of education" anymore to prove to the students who ran the class. If you were lucky you got whoooooped by your folks when you got home. 3. School administrators are 'NOW" afraid that students, parents or some liberal leaning advocacy group will sue them. (The "tail" does not wag the dog anymore......now the "dog" wags the tail) 4. Girls getting pregant......out of school until you had the baby. Today, a badge of honor plus eligible for welfare. 5. Kids are no longer held back in school because they are, in the venacular, stupid. These kids just got to join the workforce sooner than everyone else. Now they are passed along. Now some states do not give failing grades because it may hurt the kid's self esteem. 6. Today, some underachievers, some lazy ones, are on various psycho drugs that give me the impression that they are doing the thorazine shuffle. Before govt money was accepted I didn't know anyone on these psycho drugs. The psycologists who produce the DSM's must take some of the blame too. I think that everyone has some sort of behavioral diagnosis in this handy reference. 7. Teachers "having" to teach someone to pass a test that they have been, essentially, preparing for all year??? who are you hurting?? Pays to open the book and learn your lesson so you can have three free days off. 8. Look at the schools in the upper midwest and northeast where kids are dropping out at a rate close to 50-60% (google it). This problem is not with the teachers or administrators as it is with the guidelines of the federal government being forced upon school districts. Throwing more money at the "phanthom" problem is not the correct answer. The answer lies in letting the teachers teach and those who fail....fail. Accountability at a young age can be the best learning experience for the future. "Spare the Rod and Spoil the Child." Ya'll know what I am talking about because we all know some kid who demonstrates accountability and those kids who just want a feel good response because of political correctness training. this is enough ammo for some of you.

How many more times must this question appear before the first kickoff????? moot post

excellent "red" liberal post using the velvet hammer to disenfranchise your opponents. 1. Is it the Republican Party & its Christian base moving more to the right or is it the Liberal "Red" Left moving further to the left? It is obviously the Leftists moving more to the left. For example: (1) Have the Christians, of the Rep Party, ever changed their policy of beliefs on gay issues?? Nope....what is there to change from what the Bible says? ..... HOWEVER....the Liberal "Red" Left has been and is formulating national policy against Christians. If you do not believe me "google" that info because I ain't goin' spoon feed ya with numerous examples (i.e. hate crime laws and taking religious symbols and praying from school events to name three....there are plenty more). Don't give me the lame liberal response of "separation of church and state." By that admission you are attacking "religious freedoms." 2. Who the heck wants a Christian-theocracy that you talk about? Where in Davy Jones' locker did you ever concieve this total misconception?? As wet behind the ears as you appear to be about life the "only" and I mean "only" group that wants any sort of theocracy is the radical muslims. Of course having multiple wives may appeal to some on this board but 9th Century living just does not appeal to me. Double ply super soft Charmin appeals to me more than leaves, grass and my left hand. 3. Civil Rights? granted some civil rights enactments were fine but does not the Liberal "Red" Left think it is time to abandon this "EVER" expanding government "socialistic" program that keeps enslaving more people, annualy, on federal govt. assistance than ever before? Oh yea, this is one of the "major" core voting blocks of the Liberal "Red" Left. Kinda like what Robin Hood did....take from the rich working people and give to the disenfranchised poor. Human nature only indicates that people will find a way to live on what you give them. Now, the state of Mass. is giving cars to the unemployed along with free repairs and AAA road assistance. Besides, since the United States of America has now elected an African-American to the presidency do you think it is time to abandon Civil Rights since, obviously, Civil Rights has achieved its goal?? 4. guns....that is constitutional. only the liberals want to take away our guns ... oh yea, trash this constitutional admendment for more of a "living constitution" that is more up to date with today's society. 5. you mention two of the numerous conservative radio personalities. why do sponsors advertise with all these media types rather than PBS on their "monthly beg-a-thons" and government subidies and the few radio outlets around the country....i.e. Air America??? could it be that Liberal media has NO following and advertisers DO NOT want to lose money?? capitalistic thought. finally dude, it ain't the right that is moving more to the right as it is the Left going more to the extreme left. the right has defined principles (that some compriomise regularly) based on morality and christian beliefs.
