  2. SE- thoughtful???? you are too kind. seriously, do you think that pitts and nt's own bob ray sanders believe what they write? or do you believe they write this "left wing" fringe hyperbole to protect their respective jobs since newspapers are going out of business? if it is the former they like the redistribution of wealth and if it is the latter it is cya.
  3. football stats.... improvement from last year. http://espn.go.com/college-football/statistics
  4. Coach Dodge inherited a really bad team..............discipline and talent. You have got to remember that Coach Dodge played a true freshman, Vizza and again Vizza in his sophmore year. Now NT has a RS freshman QB. I think everyone will agree that Coach Dodge is doing a much better job recruiting than Coach Dickey, especially Dickey's last two years. We do have Coach DeLoach back from his stint with UCLA and has improved NT's defense. NT's Special Teams have improved. NT's talent level has improved. Another great punter in Atteberry. NT could have won the Ohio game and without the five turnovers could have played MTSU a little closer and possibly won. OK, 1-3 but the season is not over and the team is improving. Coach Dodge walked into a really bad situation that can not be rectified overnight. I support him and the excellent job he and his staff have done and I personally think the majority of fans do too.
  5. Went to Half Priced Books yesterday afternoon, went to the back of the store for the coffee and to look, firstly, at some clearance books.....since that is where the coffee thermos is sitting that is where I start looking at books. I get the last of the coffee and a guy walks up, about 20 seconds later, gets a cup, pushes the coffee lever and all he gets is air...you know the sound. Told him he was out of luck & that I got the last half cup. We begin a conversation and introduces himself as Jim Plummer. Dang, I know that name but could it be him in the flesh? I keep the converstation going because I know what I wanted to ask him. When he finally mentioned Quana Parker I said, "you're Plumm Mean Green!" His look was priceless. PMG leaned close to me, as if he were blind, and said, "who are you?" Euless Eagle. He began to laugh, shook hands and had a great conversation with him for about 15 or 20 minutes. You just never know who you can meet if you just open up with a little friendly conversation with someone. Nice meeting you Jim.
  6. NT could be 2-1. Big turn around from last year with plenty of improvements from ST, O & D. Every game, this year, NT has been getting better.....that is good news. 'Bama is just a great team including the TD mentored QB. Personally I hope 'Bama plays for the National Championship and wins. ______ on a side note at least we did not loose to one of the nation's ESPN Bottom 10 schools like one of the metroplex schools did.
  7. SE....funny you mention that. When I was there everyone knew where Dallas was. Usually they would say that they were big fans of the TV show Dallas. I also told them I really like Dirk Nowinski (sp) of the Mavs. Everyone thought that was great. They have pictures of Dirk all over the place including gas stations...some of them life sized. Really a great bunch of people to talk to and hang with. No matter where the conversation starts it always seemed it ended up in some sort of political discussion. Octoberfest in Munich was the best vaction ever. Clean city. Easy to get around. Beautiful women especially the ones nude sun bathing in the English Garden. Beer is cheap and delicious.
  8. Jump a train and go to Munich for Octoberfest. Should be starting now!! I recommend the Paulner Tent at the end of the fairgrounds on the right. Get there early.....before 11 am or you may not find a seat. The one and the original. Once you tell the German sitting next to you that you are from Texas and buy them a beer you will have made a friend for life.

  10. I do not think we should worry about the durability of R. Dodge. Look at Sam Bradford of Oklahoma. Does Bradford's injury in the BYU game make him less durable as a QB? How about the starting QB of Ohio? Less or more durable? Is bigger better? Answer: Only if you advertise for Extenze. Seriously, we will have to wait and see. Other posters have already stated other examples of undersized QBs that did well in college and even in the pros. R. Dodge will be fine as the NT QB. He will get bigger and stronger throughout his college career. We should be glad that we have N. Tune as #2. Remember that Tune was 16-0 in his Senior year at Celina. Appeared his confidence level improved as the game progressed. IMHO, not as deceptive as a runner as Riley but able to move the offense. I hope that Tune starts at Alabama to let R.Dodge recover. From #119 in "D" last year to #38 after two games. Impressive. New attitude on the team thanks to all the coaching staff. BTW, Coach DeLoach is doing a great job along with the other "D" staff.
  11. http://www.athensnews.com/news/sports-news...to-have-success maybe some doubts
  12. Perhaps NT can add a "Fourth" member of the MAC to the Bottom 10, after Saturday night, on the New NT World Beating Tour.

  14. Who will be in ESPN's bottom 10 when it comes out?
  15. What is more important is that DeLoach will be back.....and that is scary tooooooo for the opposition.
  16. IMHO, the love for Coach Solich, by the Ohio blog board, is about the same as the love for any football coach whose teams appear to be faultering by any blogger on their respective boards. Just take a look at some of the past posts for the last 5 years or so on this board. Ohio has not been much a "power house" team: http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_i.../ohio/index.php yea, sure they had their moments from time to time like NT but just like most mid-major schools there is no consistancy. It is again MHO that Coach Dodge and the "World Beating Tour" will beat Coach Solich's team which appears to be faultering again this year.....from six wins two years ago to four wins last year. I would not be too hard on Coach Solich......I am sure he is doing the best he can with the resources that he is provided just like other coaches.
  17. Dirk deserves Romo's seconds.
  18. Win...... beat the 16.5 spread against BSU......a current 1 point spread at home?? Thanks to DeLoach and Co. a much improved and aggressive "D." Special Teams......another great game. For a red shirt freshman Dodge looks in control and fasssssst. A new "world beating" attitude on this team. The "O" line looks great.....a carry over from the ASU game from last year. They were physically moving people out of the way. Cam.......120+ yards. RDodge.......300+ yards passing.

  21. and quoner, what were you kicked off the board for.......???? i would say a warning is minor .... being booted is major.
  22. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_con...entire_congress appears many are fed up with Congress on "both" sides.
