Isiah , Golden Panthers Lose Exhibition Game
eulesseagle replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Basketball
DII LeMoyne beat Syracuse Tuesday 82-79.............good thing it was an exhibition game...... -
Opening line favors NT over LaMo.................. Has NT been favored more this year than the two previous years?
-
Was that not the plan for WKU?? Result............Dunbar 227 yards.
-
IMHO the remaining games are winable and I think we have a better chance of going 4-0 than 0-4. For those of us who have been GOING to the games have seen improvement on offense, defense and special teams. You can not see this improvement if you DO NOT go to the games or "just" read about the games on gmg or follow the team "just" in the paper. Last week, against WKU, the team started getting some breaks go their way for the first time and they capitalized on them. ZERO turnovers (that makes ONE turnover in TWO games), 40-14 in the second half, the "O" Line (bustin' Dunbar loose for 227 and not allowing RD to get sacked......oh yea, the "O" Line is one of the best in the nation in not allowing qb sacks this year), RD's game management and gotta say that this kid is good really good.....this kid is no wimp....he is tough and a tenatious competitor.... I look for our "O" line handling LaMo's defense, I look for Coach DeLoach to be on the sidelines, Dunbar for around 150 (currently 10th in the nation in rushing...... http://espn.go.com/college-football/statis.../2009/group/80) , and an NT win.

What Statistic Matters More, Than The Fact
eulesseagle replied to eulessismore's topic in Mean Green Football
eulessismore, have we not talked about your subject extensively from loses 1-6 and more so the last two? -
http://www.cfbdatawarehouse.com/data/div_i...s.php?year=1925 scroll down and see the NT vs Decatur Baptist score.....about 30 pts short of a record.
-
offensively....................more points on the board with a RS frosh & Jr. QB. defensively..................fewer points on the opponent's board. special teams..............much improved. TD..............................2 1/2 years at NT GD.............................1 1/2 years at NT some say we are getting worse......some say no improvement........??????? i say get your butts in the seats and see for yourselves......no excuses. if you want to give up your beer money for your athletic donation......so what.
-
DeLoach has only been here 1 1/2 years........................ some of it could be talent, youth or whatever you want to contribute it to......yall complained the last two years of how NT got beat by the long ball......give the man a break. and......the defense has improved.
-
whoa bubba....... Coach Dodge has been here 2 1/2 years.....not four......it may seem like four to you and forty to others but it is only 2 1/2. We all know what the problems were with grades and discipline. How many were Dodge's recruits vs. DD's recruits? You might take a couple of steps back on that statement. Watching the games, in person, like I have for years IMHO the team is getting better the more we get into the season. Against Troy.....ONE turnover. Special Teams getting better, Another excellent punter, Running game is excellent....I guess because of the "O" line and the passing is getting better with our RS freshman qb and his JR. backup. Defensively??? they are getting better but not as fast as the offense. I think our "D" line and LB are really pretty good....the others.....well what can ya say. NT has one of the best defensive coaches in the country with DeLoach. His defense did beat USC one year. This guy is good and he has only been here 1 1/2 years..... the team is getting better and the ONLY friggin' way to tell is get your lazy butts in the bleachers instead of what is said on some blog or the stats at the end of the game.

One Thing About An Opinion Being Expressed Here
eulesseagle replied to eulessismore's topic in Mean Green Football
It is always easy to look at a coaches "past" record and deem it successful or a failure. Who knows when an administration hires someone, even at the non-bcs levels, who is on the so called upswing and up and coming?? everything is a crap shoot. when Coach Dodge was hired 99.9% were thrilled to death and just about all announcing our retirement out of ESPN's Bottom 10. crap shoot? not in this case. Coach Dodge has proven to me and others that he belongs. His recruiting, him being a winner everywhere he goes and his character. how many of his first recruiting class are still at NT?? a handfull maybe. he did take over one of the five crappiest football programs in the nation when he arrived. Ya'll know what i'm talking about without me recapping. he has gotten more highly ranked high school and j.c. players here than ever before. now, 2 1/2 years later "some," just a handfull, want to raise money.....hahahahaha.....what is it up to now.....$2,000......march into RV's office plop the cash down and tell him to scuttle Dodge. believe me when i say this.....Coach Dodge and his staff will be here for 5 years so you can either jump on board or the handful of you can not show up for games and withhold your beer money from the athletic fund. personally, let the rats jump off the ship. -
We Are Stuck With Todd Dodge As Our Coach, Give It A Rest
eulesseagle replied to UNT_playmaker's topic in Mean Green Football
explain how NT, under Coach Dodge, is losing respectable talent. Appears to me, and others, the talent level is increasing. What previous NT coach in the last 40 years has gotten this much talent?......how do you come up with Coach Dodge costing us........ millions...... of dollars? -
What are we up to now on a new HC collection of $1,000,000??? oh yea......$2,000 and maybe another $500 next year. hahahahaha what will ONE million get you???? NOTHING!!!.....well it will get you another assistant coach and his staff for ONE YEAR........ Everybody here knows the CRAPPY situation he walked into when he took the job here. With the exception of a handfull of players the rest of the team was pure crap. Could have been a MAJOR reason why NT was in the ESPN's Bottom 10 and last in just about everything on NCAA stats. Some other poster, in another thread, stated we are scoring more points offensively and giving up less points defensively. That it improvement. TD recruiting ability is fantastic. NOW, most of his recruits are SOPHMORES with a few JUNIORS thrown in. This would have been Vizza's Junior year and he was in TD's first recruiting class. ONLY ONE TURNOVER against Troy. Admit it ..... Troy is an excellent team on both sides of the ball......will probably win the the New Orleans Bowl or something. Personally I believe every game remaining on the schedule is winable. Forget about raising a million.....because in reality you would have to raise about 9 to 12 million to get a coach and his staff to come in for about 4 or 5 years and buy out TD's contract. Forget about this "PIE in the SKY" talk about writing e-mails, green tea parties and camping out on the President's lawn to fire TD and RV. The two or three of you who would actually do it would have a really nice YouTube vid for the rest of your life. NT is getting impressive stats that will end up being victories.......just be patient. Too many of you kids are too used to "INSTANT GRATIFICATION" and not the old time PATIENCE of the years it takes to rebuild a college sports team. I like Coach Dodge and what he is doing ...... unfortunately it takes more than one or two seasons. He is a winner.

A lot of college QB's get injured like RD. Fragile?? Look at Colt McCoy in his freshman year. This year look at the Florida QB, Oklahoma QB and others & you might throw in Troy Akeman of the Cowboys in his first or second year. NT is lucky enough to have Tune. An excellent passer like RD but not as elusive as a runner as RD. NT has really improved offensively and defensively this year and fans should be excited about that. NT has been in every game, except Alabama, until the end and could have /// should have won......we know the debate.....would have, should have, could have BUT...... I believe that NT has the personnel to win out provided that they keep making fewer mistakes offensively and defensively......
-
shaft, you should go to the games and visulize the difference between qb dogde and tune. there is a big difference and the difference is that dodge is a better runner. that kid is really good. tune is an excellent qb too, however, does not have the quickness and elusiveness as dodge. to me that is the biggest difference. shaft, you do understand that coach dogde came into one of the worst situations in the last few decades at NT? overall, coach dodge took over one of the crappiest teams (with the exception of a handfull of players) i have ever seen .... and i have watched NT fb since '66. there have been a plethora of posts on these subjects so forget about my recap. got5onit, hawkins won without his son in the last game. perhaps coach hawkins figured out his son was not the best qb. isn't qb hawkins a junior?

Vince Lombardi was a high school coach & evidently the experience really did not hurt him when he moved up. http://www.vincelombardi.com/about/facts.htm _______ edit: once NT starts filling the stands with 40k+ per game and get something other than big beer money donors to the athletic fund then NT is just what it is....NT. some big beer money donors at NT probably could not get 10 yard season tickets at some of the larger BCS football games. just accept the truth and as agent mulder said....."the truth is out there."
-
The Colorado QB is a junior not a RS Freshman. Not really a good comparison. If RD is still making freshman mistakes when he is a junior then he needs to be benched.
-
What will be NT's record the next seven games?? FAU.........W Troy........L WKU........W LaMo........W FIU...........W Army........W ASU..........L 5-2

The past two seasons some of the fire TD crew whined about the massive amount of points that were scored against the reminence of coach DD. Bottom of the barrel in "O" and "D" for the last two gave plenty of you ammo for your scathing hyperbole. Now NT lost to Ohio by "ONE" and lost by "FOUR" in the last seconds to lala. NT's "O" is immensley improved ..... probably in the 70's range in offense and the "D" probably higher. Redshirt RD is doing and learning the curve and IMHO is doing a great job. Yea, he makes freshman mistakes....so what.....???? does anyone expect him to play like a junior or senior??? Coach Dodge has brought in some fantastic talent and they are, now begining to pay off. Some of the fire TD crowd will never be satisfied no matter what type of team NT fields. One satisfying fact is that there are way more supporters of TD than the fire TD knee jerkers. If you want something fast go to Burger King's drive through.....unfortunately, recruiting, rebuilding and winning takes a little longer than the length of time than coach TD has been here. Heck, I wish NT/RV could give him a contract extention and raise after this year.....because he deserves it.

Why is the amount of money that a CEO makes more important today than let's say 3, 5, 10 or 30 years ago? It is only at the forefront because of the socialist tendancies of our "redistribution of wealth" president. ----CLASS STRUGGLE---- The evils of the haves over the have nots. Where do you think that BHO, et.al., got these ideas? Hummmm.....Ayers, Alyinski & community activistism. If an insurance company wants to pay its executives a few million dollars a year to oversee billions and possibly trillions of dollars that is fine with me. That is free market capitalism. The very last thing American's want is for these execs to make as much as donut shop manager regulated by the federal government. You are either for capitalism or socialism.....there is no GREY AREA. Grey areas are for those who have been nutered. Thanks to our educational system students can now hide in grey without feeling ostrasized. eulessismore has a great story of pulling himself out of hardship. The only thing missing was reading by candlelight in a log cabin. Seriously, some individuals have the fortitude to overcome these obsticals but the majority would rather take advantage of this, so called, "free money" from the federal government in welfare payments. '90 is right in some of his previous posts concerning welfare reciepients. Add to that mix illegals and not only does the United States have the WEALTHIST POOR in the world but also the WEALTHIST illegal aliens living in America. Why should our poor work when they can buy a house (because of the so called discrimination of the poor/bad credit of these people), buy a car, get food stamps, get more money for having more kids, get into Section 8 housing, have the county pay for their utilities and the list goes on. These freebies "never" stop for the poor. The government has taken the incentive away from the majority of Americans, on welfare, not to work and provide for their maslovian needs generation after generation. The socialist democrats generated this block of voters under LBJ's Great Society under the auspacies of the Civil Right's Act and have held on to them ever since for obvious reasons. Look at illegals who just walk into the hospital, have a baby, go to the U.S. Social Security Office and start receiving up to $2,500 per month in SS payments. Got a friend at a bank who cashes these checks when these folks present the SS check along with their Mexican Consulate I.D. Card. How many of these checks are being cashed monthly across the United States? Now the U.S. Homeland Security Head filed suit on the Maricopa (AZ) County Sheriff, in Phoenix, that he can not profile illegals and arrest them or hold them for detention anymore. Do I really care if some people choose a lifstyle living off the government tit? heck no. What I really care about is how much they really make doing it as provided by Congress. Personally the money should be drastically cut and make it uncomfortable for these people to live these types of lifestyles on our tax dollars. ___________ edit: Got a good friend who received a degree in Business .... attended NT and has M.S. and on SS and litterally can not work because of his current debilitating condition over the last seven or eight years. His SS check is a little less than $1,000 per month and is not eligible for food stamps or other assistance because of some technicality. Illegals who are here for, literally, months or days get more than my friend who has worked for over 35 years (or so) & who turns 60 next month. What is wrong with this picture???

eeally, what is your solution? i personally do not think that the system was broke and needed repair. it is interesting to notice similarities how the clintons made health care reform their center piece in '92 much like obama is in '09. what happened in '94? looks like the same thing is about ready to happen again.
