  1. got to agree...... knott was terrible and dispite the other interceptions.....fumbles.....mis tackles.....other anomalies that occur when 22 men are in a controlled riot (on both sides) .....it came down to knott's foot. to me he appeared to have a low trajectory on the ball off his foot from where i sit.
  2. Micah Mosley's father had an excellent post on the confidence of the team toward Coach Dodge.......it was very positive.... perhaps someone can repost his comments.
  3. In all fairness Coach Dodge did not have very many players in his first recruiting class, due to time restraints and everyone knows what they were, and out of those "not many" (perhaps a handfull....maybe) are still around. So, in actuality he has had two "full" recruiting classes. In his three years there was scholarship restrictions then some players leaving, en mass, in one instance and various drop outs for other reasons......we all know the story. In a previous article by Vito he stated that Coach Dodge has been playing with a "ton" of freshmen and sophmores. In three years NT has had two freshmen QBs. IMHO, Coach Dodge needs to be here for his entire contract. Nothing is ever accomplished with a coaching turnstyle program.
  4. Let's not forget about the twenty five gallons of water discovered on the moon when NASA bombed the moon. I am waiting for NASA to say that the rover on Mars has discovered gold. you are correct......scientists must legitimize (B.S.) their research for their existance. gotta eat.
  5. Thanks for the good info Marty.....please keep up informed on all the coaches that get fired and what their salaries "were."
  6. Coach Dodge made the correct decision going with the best available players for the win. No way do you play to loose by putting in another athlete who does not take snaps as a qb. Coaches have to make tough decisions just like everyone else in life. It had to be tough on the coach with his son going down with a broken arm and Tune with his collar in one game. Play to win or don't play at all. Redshirts are not guaranteed........every player and coach knows that when they suit up for every game.
  7. how about the PAT and field goal??
  8. another daily poll on getting rid of Coach Dodge???? how original. does this not get a little boring?
  9. That is a lot of hypotheticals "more" don't you think? would have .... could have .... should have ..... what if ..... different decision ..... the point is Coach Dodge made a decision that seemed correct at that time....... just like he made the decision to go for it on 4th down in the Ohio game instead of kicking a field goal to "possibly "ice" the game. It is easy to say what Coach should have done "after the fact" but it is NOT you on the sidelines making the decision what to do as the game "flows" along. If Coach's decision was fulfilled by the team and would have made the 4th down, against Ohio, and Knott making the field goal against Army and both resulted in winning the games we would have all "Hailed Ceasar" for having foresight and fulfilling somebody's dream of 4-7 right now and possibly beating ASU and being 5-7.
  10. IF Knott would have made the PAT and field goal the game may have turned out differently for this game and one or two more. Can anyone, logically, blame RD, the offense, the defense or any/all the coaches for Knott's missed kicks? I guess we should expect more from a "freshman" kicker.
  11. RD is a redshirt freshman.....not a jr or sr. if he were a jr or sr making these mistakes i would have some concern......but not as a rs freshman. this is not an expert opinion it is just the way it is.
  12. we heard this same bull s*&^) with dd during his first two years......oh yea, same stuff about JJ during his first couple of years.......
  13. had some pizza and a couple of cold ones (ice tea) two weeks ago with him. he is one of the finest people i have met.
  14. how many PATs and makable field goals has knot missed this year? how much of it is his fault and how much is the fault of the snapper or line letting the defense get through? players drop balls, miss assignments, fumble, throw interceptions...etc....etc....etc......can you blame all that on the coaching staff even though they teach it? heck if that was the case you can start blaming all your teachers for not teaching you enough to make "A's" on all your tests. big improvement this year.....and i am pumped for next year.
  15. PMG is doing fine.......i go and talk to him every now and then......still a NT fan......just really busy.
  16. a lot of h.s. kids are raised in certain offenses and find the transition from h.s. to college a great deal faster just like transitioning from college to pros. rd is in his rookie season of college. if he were a junior or senior and playing like this i would have some doubts but not as a red shirt freshman. now nt has lost five games by a touchdown or less this year which is a vast improvement from the last two years when we were losing by two, three or more touchdowns. got to agree with oldtimer that nt is improving............ nt has played with two freshmen qbs in two years i see the level of quality players commiting to nt improving but they are mostly freshmen and sophmores........not juniors and seniors. Coach Dodge, et al, has built a solid foundation for next year and almost broke through this year. heck, for one, i am impressed and plan on getting my season tickets for next year when they are available. i do hope that getting a better kicker should be a priority this recruiting season......knot did miss four points this last game and took nt out of a couple more. that is not Coach Dodge's fault.
  17. RD is a redshirt FRESHMAN not a junior or senior
  18. Boring and predictable.
  19. OldTimer.........Significant improvement over the previous TWO years.

This would force the candidates to run on their own ideas and implement laws that reflect the constituency who got them to Washington in the first place. Probably will never happen but one can dream eh? Unfortunately, this would surely be struck down by the courts as unconstitutional. I think term limits is the only path has has a chance of surviving the inevitable court challenge from the incumbents. ______________ We all know this pork or whatever the nomoclature is for these particular bribes will continue due to the coruptness of Congress. Democrats and Republicans are all guilty. To even entertain a realistic vision of "change" is like believing in the Tooth Fairy or one hundred people walking into an insurance agency in one day and all getting $5,000,000 worth of term insurance. Lawyers in Congress make laws for lawyers in Congress. Legalized stealing......what else can you call it?

  22. I remember the 1989 scare of the world ending then.
  23. Having said that, I have concerns about the fact that we don’t have a qb that can both run and throw deep. RD is an excellent runner and he's accurate at short ranges. However, if you can’t throw accurately past thirty yards it means your always in the red zone for practical purposes. The field is shortened no matter where you’re at on the field which is big problem against athletic defenses. I also think we need to utilize a full-back more tight ends etc RD is a redshirt freshman......and needs to grow through his mistakes & he will. Heck, I think he is an excellent qb for a freshman and will only get better just like the other "ton of freshmen and sophmores" that are playing. On a side note: the first game of the season, last year, I sat next to Coach Dodge's father, Pastor Dodge. What a dynamic individual this man is and after talking with him one can only come to the conclusion that Coach Dodge is just as dynamic in moral values. If I had a son I would want him to learn from the Coach.
