This reminds me of two years ago in the student section @ Fouts. A new transfer student from Tech kept yelling "Let's go Eagles!". Everyone looked at him with a blank stare. Fun fact: he also was carrying a 6 inch blade in his boot - those techies.

In some ways it's "easier" to sell the dream of football (UTSA, USA, Charlotte). No history of a team means no memories of losing, only pipe dreams about being able to cheer their school and alma matter on in a college football environment. I don't blame some recent UNT alumni who attended when I did, getting to see/hear about our team being pummeled in our dilapidated facilities under Dodge Ball. I think the new stadium and new coach has created this dream for us again and will get many involved again. I think there are a lot sitting on the fence, if we win-they'll be quick to buy-in.

Yep. I'm sure there are other benefits as well - I'm not sure what "level" of MGC benefits we will receive as recent grads - I have asked this question.

Besides myself and LAZER, 6 in my group NEVER attended a UNT football game while going there. We're definitely going to have a record breaking attendance year.

After reading much criticism surrounding our season ticket sales efforts, I thought I'd provide some assurance that we have some people in the department doing a good job. I joined the Facebook event group for the first game at the new stadium I suggest you 'attend" as well , and posted that I would be buying 8 season tickets this coming week. Soon after posting I received a message from an Elizabeth Laupus, a ticket sales rep in the dept. I assume she had clicked on my profile and saw I was a recent grad, so she made sure I knew about the recent grad program. After I replied telling her I was aware, she then pitched the Mean Green Club to me and made me aware of a new MGC program for recent grads. "The MGC parking passes will be at Victory Hall by the stadium. We have a progressive plan for new graduates. If you graduated in: 2011 - $25 2010 - $50 2009 - $75 2008 - $100 2007 - $150 You will progressively move up the ladder each year until you are no longer a "Young Alumni" and would move into the $250 MGC plan. " I was not aware of this and will definitely be joining, well worth my $50 (2010 grad). Hopefully this will encourage more recent grads to buy in. There are currently 3,721 people attending this event on Facebook, I'm sure I am not the only one that has been sold on the MGC or season tickets as a result.

It's considered a very rare bobblehead. There was one that sold on eBay last week for $290, I was watching the auction but a little too steep for me.

Were there many open spots in 204 or 209? I'm trying to buy about 8 seats in either section and I think my seleciton time is next week.

Meh, I guess it depends who you're talking about. Those on GMG that think we have a legitimate case for MWC (or heaven forbid Big XII) are definitely in that boat. Those of us, like myself, who think we currently fit the Belt are much more level headed. It seems like a large number of Texas State and UTSA fans are very quick to bash UNT and put themselves ahead of us. We're ahead of those two schools, but not by as much as the homers on here think. Let's go out and win so we don't get mentioned in the same breath as them.

I'll gladly take any recruit that wants to use UNT as a doorstep to the NBA. It's working pretty well for Kentucky.

Cane's is overpriced, I'd rather spend another $2 and gorge myself at Babe's. The sauce is good, but they're awfully full of themselves with it by giving you so little and charging you for extra.

Awesome news! Even more awesome is by reading this article I discovered one of my firm's largest client's, and one that I am most responsible for, is a mentioned as a Geezle here. I knew he was a UNT alum but nothing like this! I'll be sure to take even better care of his family now.
