Not happy with this disrespect.

Some nights the basketball doesn't fall. That's why I like our team built on defense - much more consistency. I still worry that we'll have an off night behind the arch or teams that force us to the line more frequently that may derail us even further.
-
We’re going to land higher than 12 if we win out or drop only one remaining. Boise shouldn’t be 5 seeds ahead of us. I could see us as high as a 10 if we keep this up.
-
Winning out and losing in CCG gives us the best shot. Had we not dropped Buffalo and/or held on v. Miami we'd be sitting a lot more comfortable.

I dislike all flags that are riffs on the classic American flag - looking at you, lifted truck with the diamond plated black and white American flag.

I trust coach. We've won 12 of our last 13 conference games and haven't lost a conference road game since Feb 27, 2021. We still have some tough games ahead, but this team is built for road games.

No sarcasm. I understand COVID eliminated the year of sitting out which prevented a lot of the G5 talent from transferring "up" to P5 in the past. Assuming this comes back into play then this acts as a buffer and decreases the number in the portal in future years. NIL still tempts G5 talent to jump to a P5, but they'd have to wait it out (absent family illness, grad xfer, other reasons NCAA has approved). I'm a casual when it comes to understanding transfers and NIL.
-
So post COVID we'll revert to the same transfer rules, right? Generally sit out a year @ FBS xfer level absent exception or grad xfer? But NIL would cause some to be ok with that and sit on their monetarily enriched hands?
-
I think I disagree. Now a good G5 player has to consider staying in his G5 program, getting more playing time without NIL money or potentially hitting the portal, getting paid to fill a hole, play next man up at the P5. He may not develop or get as much playing time at the P5 than at G5 but $ now vs. potential NFL $ later is going to potentially lead to more leaving the G5s. Correct my understanding of NIL and transfer portal if I'm off base in how all this works.

If we don't do something, yes. The rules of the game must change if that's the case. Body bag games? Just went up - more $ or we want a % of the gate. Two for ones in scheduling? Turn the other way - you come to us now. NCAA has to do something or why are we wasting our resources? I'm all for the free market exchange of players, with some light rules in place, but its not just the players that need to be enriched here, it's the farm system as well.
-
Let's play this one out. Hey Mr. large UNT donor: instead of donating large amounts of $ this year to the AD how about you pay into an NIL pool instead? A&M just paid us $5m for the body bag! So ya, it's one in the same.
-
G5s need to start charging a lot more for body bag games. We don't have other revenue sources to tap to get sizable NIL money.

I should've just stuck with PwC out of school since they committed to me with that job offer. How dare I busted my ass for years on my own time preparing myself for the world of finance where I now work a fraction and make a multiple. It's no different with these athletes. They're likely not the same athlete/player as they were when they came out of HS. They busted it in the weight room, in the video room to learn how to improve. Did my job at PwC help me in my maturation? Yes. Did I do more of the heavy lifting myself? Of course.

I'm sure you've never done something that was in the best interest for you or your family. It's a frustrating time for G5 fans. I think some rule changes are necessary or you're going to see many programs question the point of being part of a minor league system. At least lower league football clubs (the European kind) get comped when their breakout players get loaned, sold to larger teams. I surely hope that's not where we're heading with CFB.

What.a.comeback.

Neil knew all along the move Spotify would make and I'm sure he doesn't care about the loss in streaming revenue. I'm unaffected - I use apple music/I have a few of his vinyls. I'm used to artists not being on certain streaming services...we somewhat recently finally got Aliyah's catalog for streaming.

Best North Texas Basketball Game You Have Ever Attended?
MDH replied to UNTLifer's topic in Mean Green Basketball
OK St in 2007, Denver in 2012. -
Shooting form the hip here but this has to be the highest ranking matchup @ super pit in a while...I know when we hosted Denver about a decade ago they were receiving votes and we weren't far behind. Can anyone smarter than I confirm this?

Somtimes, It Boggles The Mind
MDH replied to LongJim's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Not to excuse any bit of it, but this was the known side effect of the pace and magnitude of the pandemic stimulus. We learned from our mistakes in the GFC in slowing down and taking more care with where stimulus was going caused for delays in funds and ultimately a larger financial depression. This happens all the time in govt, no matter the regime, no matter the outlay, there is always fraud/excess. -
As a society we are ok with individuals playing with groups above their ability/level. See: teenagers going to ivy leagues, big 9 year olds playing with 11 year olds. We typically don’t think it’s fair for the reverse to occur. Men have a biological advantage which is why it’s not seen the same.

Some of you guys need a massive dose of reality when it comes to the pecking order of transfers.
