It was a matter of time and it's well deserved. Doesn't mean I don't hate to see it. Grant set us up well for the AAC and should allow us to attract better candidates than we might have previously.

Fresno metro is just over 1m but they deliver most of the entire Central Valley and actually a fair bit of so cal and nor cal, too. Last 2 times they’ve played in LA they’ve sold over 20k tickets of their own. SDSU by comparison doesn’t deliver their own market, be it on tv or in the stands. Their alumni are less focused on football and generally don’t remain in the area. They’re in the conversation for pac purely for a travel destination, success on field (not as high as Fresno’s), basketball, and better academics (CSU flagship).

They do draw eyeballs, butts in seats, and have on field success. They'd be a great fit in the PAC if it weren't for their snobbery around academics (CSUs don't have doctoral programs). I suspect most around here haven't spent many hours watching their games due to pacific time zone. Born in Fresno, parents taught there, AMA.

I live in Denver so very excited for this one. Laramies a bit dumpy, as is War Memorial, but I’ve seen worse.

Not all companies have the ability to pay with the rate of inflation. Earnings growth in '22 was extremely rare and isolated to mostly energy companies. We also have differing inflation rates vs. the CPI basket. As a homeowner, my rate of inflation was much lower than those who were renters.

I worry most about student attendance if/when we move.

Some may know I'm a big Fresno St fan so anytime they're on I'm watching. Otherwise not too many close allegiances and will watch most good matchups regardless of conference. I'm partial to MWC and PAC12 given growing up on west coast and enjoying watching games late rather than early. For that reason I struggle with Big10 and SEC early in the day matchups. I'll watch most G5 except for MAC - I just can't do it.

My first football memories in life were going to Bulldog games and watching him play. It does seem like a weird hire. Good guy, but not very proven as a coach.
