    El Paso is much closer to MWC schools than CUSA. If referring to Rice, I agree it doesn't make sense.

    Why would AAC want to add them? It's not going to grow their revenue or improve their image. MWC can at least gain the El Paso and Houston markets in their next media deal. More mouths to feed isn't something a conference wants.

    Selfishly, I'd love UNT to MWC as AFA, CSU and WYO are close by. But the WAC's experiment with SMU and TCU wasn't their favorite, so I doubt you have many of those same schools pounding the table to get back into DFW. Rice won't go anywhere until UH does - doubt they want to miss out on going up to AAC if/when UH moves.

    Fresno St gets a ton of revenue from ticket and merch sales. On bad years like this last one they'll still put 28k butts in the seats and sell a crap ton of merch. SJSU on the other hand...

    His farewell season was riddled with injuries. I think that was by far his best team if healthy.

    We're going nowhere fast. SMU at least has the academics and commitment $ wise to athletics and will always be ahead of us in that sense. Only way we move is domination on the field and SMU moving up. My fear is UH moving up (I think it's a matter of when, not if) and AAC immediately filing with Rice.

    He only had a one year stint back in the NFL with the Falcons post Fresno. As of this year he is the ESPN radio commentator for Fresno St games

    Could probably get Pat Hill pretty cheap - he recruited and developed more NFL players than any other in G5 and more than most in P5

    That OSU squad went 22-13 with an NIT appearance and IIRC was receiving top 25 votes when we played. Tech finished 8-23 that year.

    OSU win was better - that was a pretty bad Tech team. Still an awesome comeback win, though.
