  1. Planning ahead. Dress for success, even when quartered.
  2. Also, moderating the forum actually does moderate my posting. Otherwise, I'd have recommended Benford pursue a job in refereeing minor league Brazilian soccer.
  3. Not sure if Lifer is reading in some unintended subtext... I saw the quote and immediately thought that if I were ranking the top 2 problems from last season, they'd start and end with the man making the assessment. So, in the proud tradition of Simpsons photos... Went with Homer totally deluded about his own image and tacked on the "Man in the Mirror" line about changing yourself first. For the record, I hope Benford wins big, immediately, and gets the hell out of here as quickly as possible. My problems with him has "20 loss season" maybe 4th or 5th on the list. And as far as me being castrated... Too late. Been married a few years now.
  4. Five&Dime wins. Pissed I didn't think of that.
  5. Happy birthday, brah. Make it historically significant fun, or take your lumps.
  6. There's a forum where we allow politics, and a thread where we require most of it to go. This isn't that forum, and this isn't that thread. Lots of rules get waived, ignored, or overlooked sometimes. That isn't one of them. If you can't confine political talk to the part of GMG that's set aside for that, then there are consequences. For you, for anyone.
  7. I want someone with a nuclear family 1000 miles away, if possible. Failing that, I want a handful of grad students. Bonus points if they have uncomfortable ties to recruits' AAU programs.
  8. This is even worse than when Coach Evans left for that 4:30 pm buffet special at Luby's.
  9. Wrong, as usual. https://twitter.com/RapperToneLoc
  10. Sorry I'm late. Hope it was a birthday filled with pageantry.
  11. I got to watch him for a year and a half in a North Texas jersey. Nobody can take that away. Not even Tony, even if he regrets coming here. It happened, and nobody can erase it. Hate your asses off, idiots. We will never see another player of his caliber ever again. It's all over now. There will be no encores. But I'll never forget seeing him in our colors. At least that happened.
  12. Any chance they may be in the market for a coach anytime soon?
  13. His life is pretty awesome. For realz.
  14. When Bill Russell won his first championship, there were 8 teams in the league. The Lakers were in Minnesota, and 3/8ths of the league was in Fort Wayne, Rochester, and Syracuse. His Celtics won the finals in a 7 game thriller against the St. Louis Hawks. Four of the seven games in the series were decided by 2 points or fewer. Fun fact? The Hawks were not integrated. All white guys. When he won his last championship, it was in an expansion year that took the league up to a whopping 14 teams. That's half as many as Michael Jordan had to overcome to win his first title. Not trying to diminish Bill Russell... But pointing to rings as a way of calling him the definitive greatest is ridiculous without appreciating context. Because if Michael Jordan or LeBron played any seasons against 7 other teams that looked like the Washington Generals... They would have a hell of a lot more championships, too. Tell Ron about this stat - First Round Playoff Exits: Michael Jordan - 3 Bill Russell - 1 LeBron James - 0 Disclaimer: I don't much care for LeBron James.
  15. It's been a while... But as I remember, you are wrong. All I remember is Don Cheadle, but I remember it fondly.
  16. Actually... I just say that's where I work because I'm really Paula Deen's agent. It's been a rough week on those forums.
  17. Data analyst for Booz Allen.
  18. 2 years in the NBA isn't enough to get George Karl in that conversation, sir. Not even in the Oliver Miller end of the pool.
  19. Anyone without a lunch pail makes me nervous and uncomfortable. Pete Maravich, though? I feel at ease with his greatness. Because of his cerebral approach and his industrial size lunch pail.
