  1. 11. Kathryn Henderson Location: Various shitty websites across the internet Year Built: 1986 (estimated) Key Architects: Some woman of questionable judgment and virtue, some drunk and/or stupid bastard without the common sense to wear a condom This rapidly decaying late 1900's structure illustrates the worst excesses of the period. The primary edifice is drab, with a shiny exterior that emphasizes the droopy, puffy flaws inherent in the structural design. Deep fissures in the exterior reveal a poor foundation, and the inevitable dilapidation they betray evokes a sense of despair in the viewer. The east wing is marred by graffiti, exacerbating the hideousness of the chalky, pasty primary exterior color. This revolting palette is worsened by the flat, dingy canopy draped over the entire structure. Matted, begrimed, poorly landscaped and maintained... The overgrowth cries out for topiary care under an experienced hand. Odd, sweeping, primarily cosmetic buttresses seem as though intended to minimize the bizarrely proportioned gap between metopion and ophyron, but fail miserably at the task. Taken entire, the lineament is off-putting and has little, if any, redeeming value. VERDICT: A sad, almost comical abomination. Not uniquely revolting enough to stand out as exceptional... Mired primarily in a general, bland hideousness endemic to the region and period of assembly.
  2. If we're paying our way into one of those once or twice between actual earned postseason berths, that's great. If we're going to pay for the purpose of getting some extra time in and possibly making a run to build confidence for the next season, I'm all about it. Just like I'd be happy about an international event once every 4 years the way the rules permit. Those are a great way to fund the program and spend some money to give a team a shot at some extra pre- or post-season time to build. In football terms, it's sort of like the extra practice time you get with a bowl berth. But if we're going to consider pay-to-play tournaments an indication of success or program growth in and of themselves? That's silly.
  3. Gyros are coming again, game TBD. And I won my limerick challenge, thank you very much.
  4. Trying not to assume the worst, but I really hope that's not true. If we can finish around .500 and write a check, and that counts as success... That's dismal. I can handle it if they said NCAA or NIT once every 4 years. Especially in a 14 team conference. But if CBI/CIT pay-to-play counts? And one in six? Man, that sucks.
  5. Same post! Awesome! This is so stupid, but here's your explanation: I open multiple tabs at once. Because everyone lost their damn minds, it got locked while I was reading another half dozen threads. When I post, like all mods, we can reply to a locked topic. So, thinking a conversation was still ongoing, I asked a question. I didn't unlock or re-lock anything. Harry or Joe locked it between me opening and me posting. Relax, not everything is some power-mad conspiracy. Since this is such a big damn deal to you, here you go, all over again: Do the CBI and CIT count? Meaning, if we finish 17-15 and write a 40k check, that's "success" as long as it happens once every six years? Respond your heart out.

  7. I'm happy to do it... But I have an alternate bet to suggest, inspired by Emmitt and 97and03's wager on the 2010 Texas/Alabama BCS Championship Game. Call it, "The Put Up and/or Shut Up" Bet. Emmitt and 97and03 bet a year of GMG exile on the outcome of that game. 97and03 lost, and he didn't post once for an entire year. That was enforced only by 97and03's own sense of honor. So, I propose (assuming both guys agree to it) that the wager be over/under 10.5 wins against full Division 1 opponents (transitional Incarnate Word wouldn't count). If we win 10 or fewer out of our 28 games (27 regular season, at least 1 guaranteed CUSA tournament game) against full D-1 opponents, UNT90 wins. If we win 11 or more, KRAM1 wins. And whoever loses doesn't get to post on the basketball forum from the date that the bet becomes officially decided (could be as early as New Year's Eve, if you're an optimist!) through the end of the NCAA tournament in 2015. If you're right, you win. If you're wrong, you have to shut the hell up (on the basketball forum, at least) for the summer plus one full basketball season. The rest of the site is fair game, but posting-restricted access to this subforum for a year. Frankly, I still think our schedule makes it a sucker bet. We have 4 Southland teams (not counting Incarnate Word) on the schedule, along with a 25 loss UC-Riverside, a 21 loss Portland team, and two other teams that only won 12 games last year (Idaho and Columbia). And, even the second-worst team in CUSA won 5 conference games last year, and that was before Memphis and Houston got replaced with the likes of UTSA and FAU. If we were able to somehow lock Benford in his office all season, we still ought to be able to win 12 or 13 full D1 games with a player-coach or possibly by letting the Mean Green Club fan-of-the-game run substitution and strategy. Anyway... A suggestion. Thoughts, everyone?
  8. Answer the question, Norm.
  9. I'M FEELING SO MANY EMOTIONS RIGHT NOW!
  10. We're awesome again!
  11. You owe MeanMag a ten spot. Not worth the effort.
  12. Shit, if we can't win 10 games from the home non con schedule alone...
  13. Home non-con: 3 NAIA 1 Division 2 1 transitional D-1 Southland 4 full D1 Southland And a 25 loss Big West team Insert limerick here.
  14. First things first, welcome to our Green forum Second thing? There's a Family Theorem First year relatives boldly Register and get scold-y And insist upon greater decorum You may find the reaction disconcerting And think we're all wildly knee-jerking Long time fans dismiss "progress" Since it's a 3+ year process Just to get the damn REFEREE MICS WORKING!!!! I don't blame fans who only show doubt When you stop to consider our drought Losing seasons drag on Since your beloved John Blew his 10th birthday cake candles out Every post-loss complaint launching pad Might make you feel outraged or mad But we heard that same spiel With more anger and zeal From Micah Mosley's dear old dad Gio Vizza and ol' Charlie Brown Had friends and family tell us to calm down Kin of the Felt our fans had such nerve! But like the others, has since just skipped town I'm still glad that you're joining the chat Family always gets the welcome mat And if after five years You're still one of our peers Maybe then, your complaint won't fall flat.
  15. Though I'm sad to see your efforts decrease, That's a very flattering press release. But you could have withdrawn On a higher note than "John" If you'd found a good rhyme for Ioannis.
  16. It might be better to hold back Because you aren't quite on the right track I've sat in recliners And enjoyed "Moonshiners" And this seems like those guys, on quack.
  17. A&E blows their own self-horn tooter. Though it's good news for retail hooters, Should they feel like a world-beater Over having out-rated a cheater And his shrew with an XXL cooter?
  18. Your reaction is very perverse. Why be so donation averse? Though your plans are now screwed The fault MUST be with you. So shut up and just open your purse.
  19. I hope there's something in his bag of tricks, Because I don't see a much better fix. But some folks have the feeling DT lowers our ceiling Which Canales implied was just 6.
  20. Though our offense may wind up generic There are MANY concerns worse than Derek Like when people congest Forums outside The Nest With their stupid political hysterics. Though his numbers don't set him apart Mr. Thompson can always take heart And be on the job lookout To plan next year's cookout If he falls down the QB depth chart.
  21. Even if the old well gets strip mined I'm afraid that I'll still be inclined Towards just limerick posting (And not simply for boasting) Since there's a hearty wager on the line.
  22. I'm a mod, so I think it's conclusive If I want to post limericks exclusive I can handle it nicely, Or, If you get feisty I may have to start getting abusive.
  23. Though he's fruit from a poisonous tree... There's one man I think could guarantee That we'd go undefeated Maybe all that we've needed: BRANDAN WALTON at starting QB!
  24. I must say, I think it's a bit creepy That he's seeking a map of our teepees. How can I ascertain If I'm safe from his plane When he knows where I lay when I'm sleepy?
  25. It's not shocking the fans are dismayed Based on how our team's recently played. Because in less than a week Our non-winning streak Is so old, it could start the 3rd grade.
