Green and........Black for Halloween?
TheTastyGreek replied to bstnsportsfan3's topic in Mean Green Football
He wasn't wearing one. -
I've never heard it better at a football game. Maybe the only one I remember specifically as more impressive than last night was at the 2007 NCAA Tournament Selection Show event. Keith Wooden had his piece of the net hanging off his face from a headband, and he was conducting the crowd like an orchestra. But that one had a roof and walls to help make it echo.

Beed, any chance you could get down to Atlanta for your basketball game against GA State this year? On a Saturday (March 8th), only about a 4-4.5 hour drive from Bowling Green.

So, you get the PMs, too? And here I thought I was special.

19 wins and .500 in conference. Both improvements from the previous year. And he brought in the number 9 recruiting class in the nation, according to ESPN. I don't know the last time LSU had a top 10 recruiting class, but I know it hasn't been in the past 5 years. I don't think they've even been top 25 more than maybe once in that span.

There is AD sponsored trick or treating for kids

It's like American Idol for opinions, but there's only one judge, and everyone watching wishes they could change the channel. -

Are you sure that's the same thing Emmitt was referring to? Did you call him to ask how he could have gotten confused, or did you just come straight here to complain? -

Never too late. While you're on the line, ask if he rents or owns, and if he has any feet pix he can send P1. -

How do you know he didn't try? Did you call him? -
Our road opponents and record in the Mac era
TheTastyGreek replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Um, harry... There's an auto-replace in there that was set up to deal with a troll a year or two ago. May want to adjust that Houston score. -

Sometimes I think that if Lane Rawlins got drunk, drove through a school zone, and ran over a dozen kids... Anyone who came here to comment on it would get scolded for not appreciating his attempt to reach out to the community with a mean green spirit parade. -
Pretty strong statement from McCarney on attendance
TheTastyGreek replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Sure, we would like to have better attendance. But you have to keep accentuating the positives. Keep moving forward. We can't act like we are in a funeral parlor around here. But if you haven't noticed the improvement in this program's attendance over the last couple of years your eyes are closed. -
Tulane fan wants Todd Dodge as their offensive coordinator

Mike Leach, maybe? Lock him in a closet or a storage shed, far away from the football field?- 18 replies

Reading through from last year... I found this: Like Babe Ruth... He called his shot. -
Seconded. If they won't take a bath, maybe another misunderstood coach can lure them into a quick shower, instead?

Benford keeps winning the recruiting battles
TheTastyGreek replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Getting back on topic... I think you have to be a very special recruiter to sign 10 guys to replace 3 departing seniors and 1 early draft enrollee. -
The truly eloquent can speak well even with tongue firmly in cheek. Bravo. The nice thing about reading the forum on a phone is you don't see and aren't able to add +/- votes. It's always informative when anyone flips their shit over that, because many forum users (including myself) don't see it and don't much care anyway.

The sooner we move along, the better off our school will be. And wins and losses are only a tiny sliver of why. I'll pack the suits, as a show of camaraderie.

Kenneth "Red" Mangrum joins SHSU men's basketball staff

Or "transfer (who I'm sure had a perfectly good reason for leaving)". I thought it was transfere memorable, but I guess not. -

The primary edifice is drab, with a shiny exterior that emphasizes the droopy, puffy flaws inherent in the structural design. Deep fissures in the exterior reveal a poor foundation, and the inevitable dilapidation they betray evokes a sense of despair in the viewer. The east wing is marred by graffiti, exacerbating the hideousness of the chalky, pasty primary exterior color. This revolting palette is worsened by the flat, dingy canopy draped over the entire structure. Matted, begrimed, poorly landscaped and maintained... The overgrowth cries out for topiary care under an experienced hand. Odd, sweeping, primarily cosmetic buttresses seem as though intended to minimize the bizarrely proportioned gap between metopion and ophyron, but fail miserably at the task. Taken entire, the lineament is off-putting and has little, if any, redeeming value. VERDICT: A sad, almost comical abomination. Not uniquely revolting enough to stand out as exceptional... Mired primarily in a general, bland hideousness endemic to the region and period of assembly. This post has been promoted to an article
