  1. He turned it around in Year 2 as a college head coach, though. Went from 9 wins to 18-10. Can't argue with success. Maybe we'll be that lucky?
  2. Dave Bliss was 9-17.
  3. Were you there? WHY DO YOU REFUSE TO BE MY FRIEND??
  4. The good news is that football season runs through January this year.
  5. The Cloaca Smackdown
  6. There's not a lot of squares missing on the moderation bingo card here.
  7. They do? Or they did, a handful of times four years ago, and only after their own practice facility collapsed and their domed stadium was otherwise booked? Edit: Serious question. If they're still going there, I'm not aware and I'd like to know.
  8. You joke, but the Mark Ronson remake featuring vocals by Ol' Dirty Bastard really opened my eyes and ears to the musical complexity hidden within.
  9. UntFan23 hijacked a picture, now wondering if Plumm is going to hit him baby, one more time. Cerebus can't obey simple rules. Don't you know that he's toxic?
  10. If I'm coming up Mesogeon, what's the best way to avoid construction and commuter backup?
  11. He thought you were referencing a pop song. Then you told him to "bite me". Not that I don't love a good salary, spirit award, screw everyone, the AD staff are incompetent, and I will laugh last mark my words! tirade... But maybe breathe deep, count to ten, and then trace back to figure out what you're actually angry about. I won't even get upset about the political crap. Cerebus is a bad influence.
  12. Sometimes I run, sometimes I hide. Anything to avoid getting stabbed in the heart with a trident.
  13. Thank you for the warning, as I do not have an EU toll tag, and would need to carry adequate coinage for that journey. We may not have reached laughter unanimity here, but I respect our differences and salute your gentlemanly conduct, your scholarly disposition, and your thorough nature.
  14. Also... The checks are still clearing, right? They aren't attendance qualified, as far as I know.
  15. Just saw it. Cerebus, please keep your deranged, GIF driven polemics confined to the Eagles Nest. Your critiques of me as a compromised, institutional tool are perfectly welcome there. This is the football forum. Play by the same rules as everyone else. VideoEagle, I eagerly await your response to the more germane topic at hand.
  16. No politics. This is about linguistically precise comedy.
  17. I'll grant that it's there from the perspective of here, if you'll concede that it also qualifies as "there" when "here" is alternatively defined as "San Antonio". Under those conditions, Gonzalez would be neither "here" (i.e.: Denton/DFW) nor "there" (narrowly defined for the purposes of comedy as San Antonio). If we can find consensus on the precise definition of the 'here' and 'there' pronouns with respect to the above, then I think it naturally follows that the original quoted statement is appropriately categorized as literally hilarious. I await your response, hearty guffaw ready pending acceptance. Your prompt reply is appreciated.
  18. I think we can take him. I believe in our linebackers.
  19. I'll probably be there within 30 minutes after kickoff. Tell the concessions stand to save a hot dog or two for me.
  20. Plumm, I can see where you got mixed up and thought this was your email outbox instead of a discussion forum where people are not only welcome, but ENCOURAGED to discuss the thoughts and statements posted by other community members. Simple error. Happens all the time. Here's the contact page for Lane Rawlins: http://www.unt.edu/president/contact.htm If this is really meant for him, then by all means go ahead and get your message to him directly. I'll go ahead and lock this thread, since you didn't mean for it to be a conversation with the GMG community, but only a missive intended for a select few that must have accidentally wound up on this public discussion forum instead.
  21. I hope we hit them so hard, that years later their cognitive function is impaired and they have difficulty speaking clearly or performing fine motor tasks, and that they struggle to form and recall memories or maintain focus on immediate activities and conversations.
  22. I'm not a pessimist, but even in the best days, there's no way that cup was even half full.
