I mean this sincerely, not sarcastically: Trying to assume how many slots we'll have to fill, how many players we'll sign/recruit, or who we'll have back is a fool's errand until August at the earliest. If we've learned anything from the past two years of Benford Ball, it's that nothing is to be assumed on the roster front.

Meh. I care about SMU basketball like I care about SMU men's soccer or the SMU equestrian team. What they do or don't accomplish in a sport we don't participate in at North Texas doesn't really matter. I wonder if they'll end up playing LSU in the NIT?

I feel really good about where we are with you as a fan. I don't feel great that you're buying walk-up instead of season tickets next year, but without the right guidance, you easily could be not buying any tickets at all.

Benford coached him in practice. Remember, Trey "decided to leave" about a month before classes started, the first year the NCAA moved up the start of organized practices. He tweeted how excited he was about the upcoming season after a practice (a day or two after TJ Taylor announced he was coming here), and after a meeting with Benford later that day, tweeted something else indicating he was very, very depressed. EDIT: I just re-read my original post... Trey didn't play an organized game under Benford, but Benford was one of his college coaches for about 5 months.
