Thank You Defensive 2004-2006 Veteran Seniors
TheTastyGreek replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
He's ours. You can't have him. If you're interested in a new Defensive Coordinator, though... We may be able to work out a deal. -
Everyone will always have their opinion, and I don't think any of us are bad fans for caring enough to hold an opinion about NT sports. I know I wasn't offended, even though we obviously hold very different views, and I hope you won't be discouraged from posting your thoughts in the future. Just to echo what rcade said, here's an excerpt from something I posted in another thread yesterday:
-
I'll be there, so will one of the main guys that helps out with look-a-likes.
-
I blame Dickey, Helwig, Bobby Ray, SMU, and anyone under the age of 40 that claims to support the Mean Green.
-
There's the only bright side to this loss. It's looking very hard for a silver lining... But at least us losing to FIU means that SMU is on the longest losing streak in the country.

Thank You Defensive 2004-2006 Veteran Seniors

I think you're talented beyond the results that we saw this season. I think you're all to be commended for your contributions over the years. And I damn sure don't think any of you are cancers. You will be missed. Best of luck in the rest of your lives. I hope you'll look back on your time at North Texas with fondness and pride. -
It will air sometime tomorrow on KTXA 21. Check your local listings.

A Big Unt Mystery, Does Anybody Have The Answer ?
TheTastyGreek replied to calvin's topic in Mean Green Football
Shhhhh!!! If this gets out, we may have to forfeit the 7-8 wins we've gotten in the past 3 seasons! And all the bowl/championship revenue, too! -
Tough to recruit to Waco?? But Waco has... Um... A crappy mall! And thousands of churches! And the highest per-capita homeless population in America! (I'm told) Why, there's a terrible movie theater and... and... And a Fazoli's Italian Fast Food restaurant just across the highway from the Baylor campus! You mean to tell me that blue chip recruits aren't primarily concerned with having a Fazoli's right across the highway from campus?!? Man, do I hate Waco. An old friend of mine once described it to me as "The Place Where Happiness Goes to Die". Baylor is a good school trapped in the middle of a barren sinkhole of suck. The only worthwhile thing I've ever found in that entire godforsaken wasteland is Kitok's. I'm told that they have a nice suspension bridge, but I've never bothered to check it out. Because I'm neither gay nor Clint Eastwood. Ugh, Waco. I have to go down there tomorrow, and I'm already dreading it.

Nt/texas State Thread On Mwc Board
TheTastyGreek replied to badgerwolf's topic in Mean Green Football
If I read the humor correctly, that is. -
I hope that didn't come off the wrong way, Plumm. It was just a lighthearted reference to your description of recent graduates. I surely didn't mean any offense by it. Just trying to make sure that when the day finally comes that I meet you at an NT event and shake your hand... I won't have to worry that you're about to stab me or anything.

I had always heard that Knowledge = Power. First you get the Sugar... Then you get the Power... Then you get the Women.

Keep fighting the flood of insanity. If it isn't baseball, it's the WAC. AGAIN. The MAC is in at least 3 bowls, and CUSA is tied in to 5. So what? Remind me again which conferences will be sending a 2 or 3 win team to a bowl this year? None of them? I suppose it really doesn't make a roach's ass worth of difference whether we're a 3 win team in the Belt or a 3 win team in the WAC. Aside from the travel expenses and reduced media coverage, I mean. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only Belt team ever to finish above .500 and not make a bowl was MTSU in 2001. Correct me if I'm wrong, but each of these bowls that the WAC is tied-in on demand certain contractual guarantees (financial, appearance, tickets, etc.). Wright Waters, the recently maligned man with the velvet merkin, has said repeatedly that once the Belt is consistently qualifying multiple teams for bowl eligibility, that's when it will start to make sense to secure contractual tie-ins to multiple bowls. Otherwise, the Sun Belt is financing a bowl appearance for some team from a different conference. But what do I know. I'm not Hayden Fry, who made a very general statement that North Texas should leave the Sun Belt. Not that they should join the WAC, just that we should leave the Belt. Which is a great idea, so long as it's actually a great idea when the opportunity arises. I'm not Rick Villarreal, either. He's the magic man who can do no wrong. He's the man who knows everything there is to know about what the WAC really offered us, what our financial bottom line is for UNT Athletics, what the consequences and risks of WAC membership are. Rick Villarreal said no. Fry said "GO" (but not necessarily to the WAC). Villarreal said "NO" (specifically to the WAC). Considering the fact that RV has a much better and deeper knowledge of the present state of affairs in Denton, Texas, America than Hayden Fry... And Villarreal has got the vision that almost everyone claims to believe in... Why do so many non-young gun alums think they know how to run the Athletics Department better than he does, even though they don't have all the facts and figures available to him? If you're a believer in RV, wouldn't you believe that he knows how to mix risk and growth as intelligently as possible in pursuit of North Texas glory? Y'know... this 3000 word multicolor/font/size posting stuff is kind of fun. Maybe I was wrong, and dick jokes aren't my true calling on GMG.com!

Keeping it in the family doesn't explain why they have goats in their closets.

Doctor Fran will see you now, Mr. Orsini. This is his partner, Doctor Jack.

Look at Mr. Fancypants, namedropping from the warm, dry pressbox while the REAL fans sat out in the weather (until leaving at halftime). You, sir, make me sick. As usual, I have the inside scoop. The WKU assistants were whooping and laughing not because of any on-field antics, but rather because one of them brought up a celebratory love goat at halftime. That poor goat was the reason that WKU performed so poorly in the second half. The whooping, laughing assistants were each taking their turn with it. If they'd kept it on the team bus until after the game, we might not be celebrating today.

Drc Pre-game Taunting Leads To Post Game Scuffle

Was it Mendoza? Any chance he might have been hit hard enough to take a medical leave of absence? -
I'm thankful for a resurgence in the Denton-area housing market. And I'm grateful for philanthropy. See you all on Saturday.

Lest We Forget...dallas Cowboys Wanted Tdodge 1st...
TheTastyGreek replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
...but I was so ready to attack the anti-Dodge faction, too! (Is it okay if we keep pretending like there's an anti-Dodge faction even though there isn't?) -
Just imagine what JJ could come up with if he had 11 men to use on defense...
-
I'll go if someone can confirm it will be available.
-
I think he means Arlington. Which has chain bars, chain restaurants, chain theme parks, and... very crappy apartment complexes? I was already starting to consider a trip down to Austin for the UT game about 10 minutes into tonight's game. I'm sure a "who's going" thread will pop up within the next week.

Dude, you're pulling this out of your... imagination. Navy was a sub for Akron on what should have been a MAC visitor to Fouts. There is no return game in Annapolis. SMU does not have a schedule agreement with us, and apparently doesn't have availability for one for at least a few years.

So now that the Tomato is closed... Where should I go for pizza in Denton? I want to grab a slice before the OK State game. Suggestions?
