  1. Looks like five. ULL, FIU, ASU, Troy, and Tulsa.
  2. DeLoach handled special teams at UCLA. I'm sure he probably has some helpful tips for his future coworkers.
  3. I-am-talking-like-a-robot. This-is-me-talking-like-a-robot. You can't use Philip the Hyper Hypo pictures cavalierly. The last time someone posted a Philip picture, Quoner and I fell in love and he launched the website. Every time Philip shows his face... Somewhere, internet jerks start an unhealthy friendship of bizarre mutual appreciation.
  4. I'd just like to take a moment to point something out... Brett Vito broke this interview story. Not the FWST. Y'know, just for anyone who had been questioning why the FWST keeps getting info he doesn't or criticizing the guy's journalism abilities. When he doesn't have to depend on NT athletics confirmation or feedback... Vito is still the best and fastest source for Mean Green news. He got a hold of DeLoach and confirmed the interview. Props to Vito, and hallelujah and hooray for the potential return of Gary DeLoach.
  5. That's awesome. I hear he has 4.4 speed!
  6. This should be printed on posters and banners and posted throughout the Athletics Center and football practice facilities. Brilliant slogan, sir.
  7. It's also been almost a month since our last visit from MeanGreenEngineer. And CaribbeanGreen hasn't been active in almost 3 weeks. It's also been more than an entire year since our last post from Green Grenade II. The man invented the Flying Worm, and he didn't even get to say a single word on GMG.com in all of 2007.
  8. If that's what Dodge had said, that's how Vito would have quoted him. All the blind Dodge praise and worship is really starting to chap my ass. Not accusing you of it, NT80, though I do admit that I don't think your perspective on the refusal to comment makes any sense, especially considering the difference between hiring a coach and recruiting high school players. If Dodge is worried about losing a "target", it would make sense for it to be someone who can't be contractually locked down for another month. Not someone who can be contractually bound to the university immediately.
  9. Vito would have had the LaCroix story well in advance of Phillips if they hadn't, y'know... Lied to him. Last night, he was covering the game in Troy. Capper was in Denton. He couldn't chase a story when he was already on his beat working the basketball games. Vito is a solid reporter, and I'm not just saying that because he was nice enough to talk to us for our jackass website.
  10. No wonder he won't talk to us... Hater.
  11. I have a suggestion. Let me preface it by saying that this is NOT meant to bring up an old sore subject. I'm not suggesting this to make a joke or to criticize the Green Brigade. It's just the first thing that sprang to mind for me. If we're going to raise money for the band through GMG... I think we should make it something that will serve the GMG community by ending one of the annual ass-whip threads. Can we make it a fund to help sponsor a summer uniform of khaki shorts and kelly green polo shirts?
  12. There is also the matter of 100% turnover every 5 years. No matter how bad anyone may THINK the situation was for Dodge, talent-wise, when he arrived... After February, roughly 40% of the team will have never known a coach named Dickey or Flanagan.
  13. I stand by what I said a little over 6 months ago. 2008- Conference Championship. Nothing less is satisfactory. Whatever number of wins it takes to make that happen, that's my magic number. And I know that by speaking the name of the DickeyMonster that I just completely derailed this thread. Sorry, Emmitt.
  14. I felt the same way about taunting the opposing team. I was sitting one section to your right, a few rows up. MeanMag and I were there. If you took notice of the guy with the white man afro that was taunting Sexton (the fat white guy) and Tracy something (#23, he actually started mouthing off back at me), that was me. Note: Neither of us was the guy who kept making dumb comments towards the coach or about how anyone sucked. We were behind him. I'm the one who called Sexton Michelin Man, Pillsbury, Marshmallow Man, doughboy, etc. and pestered Tracy about wearing a towel/airballing a free throw when there are WNBA scouts in the crowd. Good times filling in for the pit crew. That tromboner in the band is a quality heckler, too.
  15. Congrats on the baby girl. Don't be TOO glad about SMU's struggles... they don't take that sort of thing very well over there.
  16. Were you by any chance there with a blonde little girl in a mean green wig?
  17. Who does CUSA send to the New Orleans Bowl? 2002-2006 Don't tax yourself, slugger. Already took care of that for you. Try to commit it to memory. As for all the other stuff and the crazy colors and fonts... I got a little too immersed in PlummMeanGreen world for a few days. That stuff can be contagious.
  18. SMU- Sisterhood of the Traveling Red Pants?
  19. That was actually going to be the title of my post if/when Tre Newton switched committments. Now I'll look like I'm stealing material. Damn you, adman.
  20. I'm glad you spent some of your time at Dallas Jesuit kneeling in church. That contradicts the theory I've been teaching that you spent all your time there kneeling in the men's room. Let's start a 6 page thread arguing about it! Go forth, internet warriors! If this doesn't get the lockdown... I can try harder.
  21. After designing Fouts, they went on to design Stonehenge. Shortly after that, they were bought out by a Druid venture capital firm and later sold off for a bushel of wheat.
  22. So... If Ron Mendoza can't hang on to a 2-star recruit who he also coached for three years in high school... Would the rest of you be concerned then? Come to North Texas, Derek. You'll be glad you did.
  23. So... are you saying that joining a conference where the "big name" schools we'll face can't even get their OWN FANS to show up won't help our attendance? Is it significant that so many teams have even LESS attendance and fan support than those in the much maligned Sun Belt? Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
  24. I'm not a student and haven't been in a long time. And when I attended my first games on the Alumni side this year, I felt that the mortuary atmosphere allegations were pretty accurate. I plan on sitting on the student side again next season.
  25. I'll just say that from where I was sitting... it was not a very evenly officiated game. Eventually, a man just has to throw down his coat and say "enough is enough!"
