  1. Oooh... Or maybe "The DeLorean". Because even though it looks all shiny and fancy and futuristic, it's broken down and nobody knows how to fix it. And all it's really done for us is flung us back to the past when we were complete laughingstocks.
  2. /digression Is there any way we might be able to get "The Overwhelmed Lunchlady" to stick as a nickname for Dodge? Because I think I really like the idea that he's a lunchlady trying to run a real restaurant. /end digression
  3. Quit blaming the old chef for everything wrong with this restaurant. Or else I might snap and kill you all. Whatever problems the old chef had, it isn't right to diminish what he was able to achieve during his time in the kitchen. We might have minimized the importance of the meals he cooked at the time, and even more in hindsight... But to completely ignore what he did to turn this restaurant around is insulting. Besides, at least he got off to a better start than the high school lunchlady we hired to run the kitchen now. It looks like she has no idea how to handle a restaurant as complex as this one.
  4. You "people" are out of your damn "minds"... Everyone knows that the last chef this restaurant had not only left the kitchen in "shambles", he also left the "cupboard" totally empty! All you negative nellies need to quit "crying" about your "lunch" and support the chef 100%. The local "restaurant" "industry" has gotten so much more "competitive" that it's unrealistic to "expect" any meals so soon. Besides, won't the food taste that much more "delicious" after we've waited 3 or 4 "years" to eat lunch?
  5. Dodge has a rule against coordinators and assistants giving interviews without authorization. It's not unheard of... Parcells had the same rule when he ran the Cowboys.
  6. Needs more fluffy kitten jokes.
  7. Possibly, but probably not. A lot of what I intended to write as game analysis/recap was covered in the Troy Phillips response post. This is a great slogan. If it's okay, I think we might use this as a movie quote-style promo/link for the site. McMurtry got his Masters from Rice in 1960. That's why he's got a banner there. Meat Loaf has no connection to them, though. So there's still time to implement my "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" banner idea before some other school steals it. I'm just saying...
  8. Thanks. For anyone who wants to read it, here's the link. It focuses on the school and the experience, not the game itself.
  9. Maybe we've met before... I seem to recall seeing a guy walk out of the 2nd floor bathroom (near the History profs offices) with a giant roll of toilet paper almost every single day back when I was a student. If we hadn't had to divert so much money towards replenishing our toilet paper supply, we might have already saved the money for this stadium. How do you sleep at night?
  10. Pfft... Charlie Brown can't even kick a football without getting jacked up by a little girl. That kid's had so many concussions, he doesn't know what's going on. Seriously, tell him that we're proud of him for hanging in there, playing his ass off even though he's undersized for a position he never expected to play. Your kid is a fighter, and I'm glad he's playing for our team. I just wish he'd had more of a chance to show what he can do.
  11. And rap music, and saltwater taffy.
  12. That's not true... You do get attention from Big Sexy Rick. And I mean good attention, not the bad attention that we get. Maybe you could start stealing cleaning supplies from Wooten Hall. It's not the best kickback a politician ever got, but it's something.
  13. Rick Stockstill. Todd Graham. Both inherited very troubled programs within the past 3 years and took them to bowls in Year One at MTSU and Rice. Those are just the first two that spring to mind. And in Buffalo, Turner Gill rebounded from a 2-10 first season after inheriting arguably the worst program in Division 1-A at the time, and managed to go 5-7 the next year. Right now, he's 2-1 in season three. So don't say it never has and never will happen, because it has and it will again. It just didn't happen here.
  14. I thought it was the opening sentence of Speer's autobiography.
  15. Put down the hackey sack, go get a haircut, and quit playing bongos while upstanding citizens are trying to work or sleep, you dirty hippie.
  16. Fixed that for ya.
  17. Agree 100%. Todd Dodge deserves all the criticism he's getting and more. But nobody should be calling for his job, and I don't think many if any people are.
  18. The worst season I ever saw was a 10 loss season where we had roughly the same number of people turn out to see the Mean Green struggle and come from behind to beat a D-1AA team at home. Of course, this season isn't over yet...
  19. Damn you, Vito, for your factual, accurate writing and your reserved but candid editorial opinion. How dare you say that it's time to panic just because Dodge is one loss away from the worst starting record for a Sun Belt coach since North Texas entered the conference? HOW DARE YOU?? Why can't you be more like the good newspapermen and either make stuff up or pull it directly out of Dodge's ass?
  20. If I get a chance, I'll make it happen by this afternoon. Harvey Dodge is a brilliant satirical concept. Thank you, sir.
  21. Which game are you referring to?
  22. I heart you, too. I wish you were more active lately, though I can certainly understand why you might be keeping a respectable distance. I will also repeat for anyone who hasn't already heard me say this 4000 times: I'm not saying Dickey shouldn't have been fired. All I'm saying is that a lot of the criticism he's had to suffer though was and is pretty unwarranted. Not all of it, mind you. But at least this piece.
  23. Since you mention it, here's something most fans may not realize about DD's OOC curse.
  24. Tina likes facts, too. She prefers facts that are actually factual, though. But, then again, she is a bit of a stickler.
