Seriously. Second on all that VE said. Gary DeLoach and Spencer Leftwich get a total pass from me. Even if the last 7 games are as bad as the first 5, I have absolutely no doubt that those two men are getting everything they possibly can on the field. There are no coaches who could take what they're working with (and to be clear: I mean their working situation, NOT the talent of their players, because I don't want to insult our guys) and deliver better results. I believe in those two guys 100% I trust their abilities and I've seen their results here before.

It was quite an impressive internet family reunion... LAZER, MeanMag, FilmerJ, Quoner, myself, eulessismore, GoMeanGreen1999, oldguystudent (who is an amazing parking lot chef), and roughly 15-20 other friends, relatives, loved ones, spouses, and significant others. After the Rice game, I was ANGRY. Genuinely upset! And it stayed with me for two days, partly because I was stuck in Houston and didn't have an outlet to get it out of my system. But leaving the stadium tonight, even though this loss was probably even worse... I was happy. Because I had a good time. I have a lot more to say about this... For now, I'll just say that supporting this team isn't just about the football. When the football is all there is to it, supporting this team can come close to killing your soul. But when it's about the community that springs up around our school... Almost no loss is bad enough to ruin the day. It was great having everyone there. Biggest thanks go to MeanMag, LAZER, and of course oldguystudent for all they did to get us set up and fed. I'm looking forward to next week.

I've been a North Texas douche once or twice before. There are pictures on the site (with my face obscured, of course). Just don't go the other direction and don't make a habit of it, and you will be absolved.

Stay optimistic that the students will look past this abomination of a game and vote the way they've been indicating they will. If, despite all the early student support, it fails... Tina will tell everyone where the blame should go.

Keep in mind facts you don't even know for sure? Look up the records and then tell us we should keep in mind things that you're pulling out of your imagination. Dickey, in HIS second season (with only 1 recruiting class under his belt, with no AC to recruit to, with the bowls in the future and 40+ years in the past, with Simon burning every bridge in sight before he got here) beat Texas Tech on the road. Everyone seems to forget that.

I thought he was speaking metaphorically... Trying to indicate that the Panthers are the Owls, and like Rice they will beat the hell out of us on a shameful scale never before witnessed by North Texas fans. I guess I misread it.

I said it would come this week, and I still intend to make that deadline. I put a lot of time into researching the Sun Belt wins/losses post, and that coupled with the unexpected need to address Phillips' Sunday blog post delayed me a bit. Original schedule was planned to be Rice Trip on Sunday/overnight Monday, Is the Sun Belt Significantly Better sometime early or mid-week, and the Bare Cupboard post either yesterday or today. It's already been a pretty hectic week of blogging, but I still intend on NOT ONLY delivering a Bare Cupboard piece... I also have a lighthearted pop culture piece that should be up within the next 24 hours, too. Also, I have 4 photoshopped pictures for a baseball post we've had planned since right after the All Star break that should have been done this week, but got pushed back due to all the North Texas chaos. Making fluffy kitten jokes and libeling football players who did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG STOP LYING YOU INTERNET BASTARDS TROY WRITE SOMETHING AND MAKE THEM STOP LYING!! is pretty arduous, time-consuming work.

When the bleak dystopia of Terminator inevitably comes to pass... You'll all be glad that the Robots love North Texas. Keep your degrees handy, and we might just be the only people spared.
