Bot, auto-scrapes various stories from NT Daily and DRC. Don't read anything into it; not an active decision by any poster or moderator. We're working on some improvements and bigger picture changes. -
MGB: Frazier a no-show for loss to MTSU
TheTastyGreek replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Hell, I don't hold any hard feelings towards Frazier. I don't want to go to UNT basketball games, either. How can I scold him for being as protective of his weekends as I insist on being? -
Man, I just sit here thinking about how great he could have been if he weren't a 3 star HS recruit, and it really makes me wonder what might have been here at UNT. #2StarsNoCeiling

At least someone gets hamburgers after those slaughterhouse videos. This is just sad and pointless.

MGB: Frazier a no-show for loss to MTSU

Seriously, I understand that this is a lost season, and we're not going to magically improve with Benford gone. But this was a doomed season as soon as RV decided to keep Benford around. We went .500 against a save-your-job OOC slate, and we're 0-4 in conference. Our star player, the guy who Villarreal mentioned BY NAME as a reason Benford didn't get fired after last year, just no-showed a weekend home game. Just fire the guy already. Do it now. Should have happened 3 years ago. Should have happened yesterday. Every day is just further and further away from a new start for this program. He got 3 more chances he never deserved. This one, he's already 6-10. End this disgusting farce, Wren. Do it and do it soon. -

Good thing that Frazier recruitment got Benny another season! Really working out great on all fronts. Fantastic, fantastic decision. Deandre left early, Frazier just doesn't show up at all. It must REALLY be a family atmosphere. Because Benny seems like the idiot relative nobody wants to put up with around the holidays. -
It takes a while to put together your outfit when you bring 4 suits every time you only have to play 1 game.

Not good news... He saw a Texas A&M t-shirt hanging on a rack at Baby Gap. I think they're the frontrunners for his verbal now.

Glad to see that Kidsy was ultimately able to overcome his boundaries, push through the barriers, and keep motoring forwards towards his goals. I wish him, and presumably Smatresk, all the best with their fresh start at TSU.

When has Benford ever let us down against an Alabama hyphenate?

You, everyone. Anyone. Hear and heed. No more links and one liner nothing posts. Period. This forum has successfully avoided falling back into political slap fighting through most of a contentious presidential election. We are also not going to fall back into Rick McKinney's (or anyone's) personal subreddit. Stop. Offseason or not. Cut it out. Immediately.

They don't even have a Zaxby's there. May as well be red China, or Timbuktu, for crying out loud.

Marked as "best answer". Love the positive attitude, sir.

Does anyone find it the least bit ironic...

There is nobody in this fanbase, and probably nobody on this planet, that loves Johnny Jones more than I do. If his wife and kids want to fight me over it, they'll have to settle for a tie. And I won't bother wasting time hashing through game coach arguments (THOUGH I COULD!!!). There's almost no chance it happens. Because if you're Wren Baker, your first hire is going to be YOUR hire. Maybe if he'd gotten here in time to replace Mac... Maybe. But no way is Baker going to make his first coach hire the same guy as RVs first coach hire. And even in the universe where that non-zero (but very damn close) possibility comes to pass... I'm not sure it's a great idea. We'd struggle to do much better, and we're likely to do a hell of a lot worse. Even so, I think you gotta go fish.- 32 replies

Yes. 12 game regular season is a fairly new deal. If memory serves... We were the first team to make it to a bowl with a losing record. And we're the first 5-7 bowl team to lose their game and finish 5-8. Hawaii is the only team able to play a 13 game regular season, and they've never done it.
-
Germans, Pearl Harbor, etc... But technically, no team other than us this year has ever finished 5-8 in a season. We went 5-7 back in 01.

Those articles are wrong. BS predicated on an accounting shell game that doesn't actually reflect profitability. I made two huge, long posts about it in the thread a few weeks back talking about how much money Harbaugh and Saban get paid. Here's the link to one and two, and an excerpt of the relevant sections of each. The most relevant sentence, outlining how costs and revenues aren't remotely close to an accurate snapshot of what athletic programs bring in, is enlarged and italicized.

All you can eat. Just gotta listen to my thoughts on a possible new Southwest Conference and a holiday basketball tournament among the 4 metroplex schools. -

At least the 2nd biggest NT sports related mistake of your life. Though, if you're minoring in facepalm, you can do some great research.
