  1. It's like trying to pull something out of a tar pit. Good luck getting back out again.
  2. You do realize that latino, black, etc. couples are all able to run for homecoming court under the current rules, right? You are aware that what you're "demanding" is already possible, right?
  3. Agreed. Great atmosphere and a very exciting game. It sucks that someone had to lose the game... But it's nice that it was you guys, for a change.
  4. Just got home. Great game. I hope we play them every single year.
  5. Even though you're (understandably) upset with this program, I'm glad you're still a presence here. Don't be a stranger.
  6. When would this have happened? How did we go from an extension to a firing in what had to have been less than 6-8 weeks?
  7. The thing about the Flanagan situation is that he should have been fired after the incident with SilverEagle. From what I've been told, Dickey went to bat for him because he didn't want his guy to get fired. This is the first I've ever heard about Dickey letting go of Flanagan at the end of the 2006 season. That would have changed the entire situation, in my view.
  8. There may actually be something to this... The SUNY system is investigating major cuts in athletics to several system schools. The situation at Binghamton has SUNY administrators and state legislators reconsidering the athletics programs launched in 1986 at four research schools: Stony Brook, Albany, Binghamton, and Buffalo. Sooo.... If Turner Gill is out there and looking at a Sun Belt job in Kentucky because of uncertainty at his current school... Shouldn't we at least call the guy up and offer our support and sympathetic ear to a UNT grad and former coach in crisis? You know... Just to let him know that we care and wish him the best?
  9. Bowling Green Daily News says that Buffalo head coach Turner Gill is interested in the WKU job. Sounds outrageous...
  10. Yes. He'll use a regular redshirt year, no need to apply for medical clearance.
  11. MeanMag can vouch for this... Back at the last job he and I worked together, one of the regular jokes from our running commentary was inappropriate racial outrage. When someone uses the color to identify something innocuous and not at all racially oriented, we would use the innocent remark to imply that they had some sort of racist secret agenda. Whenever someone mentioned Black Friday after Thanksgiving, or someone driving in a black car... It was always: "Why does it have to be a BLACK ____?" It's one of those things that wasn't even necessarily funny for any specific case, just a cumulative thing that always made everyone in the office laugh. Sort of like "That's what she said" for our old workplace. I've never seen Black Knight. My sympathies to you, sir.
  12. It'll be interesting to see which NT football player's parent winds up being right about our future prospects under Dodge.
  13. Why do they gotta be "Black" Knights? Why can't they just be "Knights"?? Anyway, racial stuff aside... I've seen the Black Knights show before, and I was not impressed. Very hackneyed, and ultimately just plain dumb. Not even worth a rental, in my opinion.
  14. Arkansas State lost Donald Boone (3rd team All-Conference) for the year to a torn ACL.
  15. I went up to this girl, she said, Hi, my name is Sheena I thought she'd be good to go with a little Funky Cold Medina She said, I'd like a drink, I said, Ehm - ok, I'll go get it Then a couple sips she cold licked her lips, and I knew that she was with it So I took her to my crib, and everything went well as planned But when she got undressed, it was a big old mess, Sheena was a man So I threw him out, I don't fool around with no Oscar Meyer wiener You must be sure that the girl is pure for the Funky Cold Medina
  16. SE Louisiana beats FAU - 90-77 FAU scored 50 in the final half, but it wasn't enough to get out of their 24 point halftime hole. Shavar Richardson scored 20, and freshman Raymond Taylor contributed 25 points from the bench. ULL wins against Louisiana College - 90-68 3 point game at halftime, but Louisiana College only hit one shot from the field in the first eight and a half minutes of the 2nd half. By that point, they were down double digits, and they never got close again. Ultimately shot 7 of 25 in the entire 2nd half with a bucket of turnovers to boot.
  17. Seems very appropriate, in content, subject, and tone, to the original post.
  18. It HAS to be on the way.
  19. Well, I'm sure it was because of longstanding local recruiting ties and the loyal support of a huge media market. And he must have two or three highly rated sons playing for him. That must be why he's been successful under such similar circumstances.
  20. And they start recruiting guys as young as 5 or 6. That's the sort of dedication that program has.
  21. Now is not the time to give up on our school's sodomy team. We need to get behind them as they try to push through to the next level. Sure, it may be a big mess right now, but we need to grit our teeth and stay the course. It's our school. Whether we're at the bottom or on top, I support all our programs and I hope for their success.
  22. Why would another school want to hire Stockstill? He's a Sun Belt coach at a school with a small operating budget and APR scholarship restrictions. He took over for an underachieving coach with some disciplinary problems. Has the guy even won 5 games in his career yet? Isn't he going to need another season to earn his first .500 record?
