  1. From a movie called "Downfall". Good movie. And that was a pretty powerful scene until it turned into the YouTube equivalent of the "Calvin peeing on _____" stickers that adorn the rear windows of trucks nationwide.
  2. He went from starter to nowhere from one game to the next. Not sure whether he's got some sort of undisclosed injury or if he's in the doghouse.
  3. Same as 85% of Division 1.
  4. Don't insult the kid, he's still young.
  5. Well played. There's still another half of basketball to play. If they score another 32, I still love our chances.
  6. More non-Sun Belt action... The Doherty situation is continuing to get worse... SMU trailed Texas State 45-27 at the half. Ugly, ugly game.
  7. UALR @ ULM in progress, grinderball getting close to the half. Tied at 32. Channelsurfing url for video: http://channelsurfing.net/watch-ncaa-colle...ports.php?w=16# The sound is terrible, so here's a url to the station carrying the live stream for ULM's broadcast: http://www.la105.com/
  8. It was a one possession game for most of the 2nd half, up to about two minutes left. FIU gave up a few ill timed turnovers and UNO hit some clutch shots at the end, UNO wins 68-58. Billly Humphrey had 29 points for UNO. Looked pretty damn good. Not quite Bo McCalebb good, but pretty damn good all the same. The 12 fans who were in attendance are probably partying their asses off right now.
  9. UNO played a good first half, faded right before the break. FIU cut what was a big lead, now 2 minutes into the 2nd half, it's 41-36 UNO leading with FIU continuing to rally.
  10. FIU at UNO on ESPN360 right now. That place is DESERTED.
  11. It's a tough road if Tramiel can't play at least close to full strength. Still, it's nice to overcome not having a player so critical to our team. This is only the second game of the season that I didn't get to see in person (the other was Boise State). I'm really sorry to have missed it.
  12. One down, four to go in this CRITICAL FIVE GAME STRETCH.
  13. I'll ask you again... Can we? Will we?
  14. TURNOVER! I love this team so hard...
  15. Why would a guy who was showing up to practice have a cell phone in his pocket? Or ANYTHING in his pockets, for that matter?
  16. Well played, sir. But this isn't over yet... Just wait until I get a few hours to sit down and answer you in one of the basketball threads.
  17. I propose we remake Scrappy again... Instead of Eppy, call him "Polly". Email Leach the Daffy Eagle logo design and tell him it's a parrot, and we'll have the mascot sit on his shoulder through each game and press appearance. If we had a Diet Coke Boy for so many years, we can find a little person or a small child and put them in a parrot suit for a few hours a day if it means we could get Mike Leach to come here.
  18. On the flip side... McCoy and Dennis were no Shorter and Thomas. Both pairs have distinct strengths and weaknesses, and both are very talented.
  19. Spike Dykes has been gone for I think over a decade now.
  20. The likeliest contenders for our league crown all play lineups that feature one post player and a complement of guards, one of whom is usually a beefier guy that works as a tweener substitute for a proper 4. If we end up having to play the matchup game with them, not only can we win that way, but we may NEED to win that way.
  21. Even without Tramiel (worst case), I like our matchup. They're down Mike Smith, and they don't have an Odufuwa to fall back on and anchor their frontcourt like we do. Even if we get into their ideal situation and have to play a grind it out, small ball game with them, we should have an advantage.
  22. Is it too late to replace the green Eagle Wing End Zone with some sort of pirate ship theme?
  23. Mr. Rohnert, meet Mr. Shorter. Then, meet the floor. Repeatedly.
  24. Another note... Odufuwa's foul situation, Tramiel's injury, Cam Spencer's lack of offensive game in our system, and Knox's general knoxiness forced us to play a lot of second half minutes in our smallball lineup with Shorter at the 4. It's an option that worked pretty nicely for WKU last year, and it's a lineup we may need to turn to if we can't impose our game on the Hilltoppers or USA. You can't say much encouraging about this game other than we managed to win on a poor night, but at least we got some extended game time for that floor combination.
  25. Mangrum driving and creating off his own dribble is what finally got TX Southern to ease off that suffocating zone/double team defensive attack that was killing us in the first half. Holmen showed his inexperience in that first half. Hitting the gamewinner makes up for everything, but he had stone hands and/or wasn't staying aware for passes to the inside. Several of our first half turnovers bounced off Holmen's hands or arms.
