NT03 and I are swapping texts like little girls planning a slumber party. It's sick how excited I am over a damn calendar.

Saturday road games at San Marcos (Nov 27, same day as K-State football) for Texas State's half of the 2-in-1 year and in Houston (Dec 4) for Texas Southern. Who else is in?

25-4 regular season. That's my early semi-optimistic prediction.

In 1989, the Michigan Wolverines won the NCAA tournament led by Glen Rice and Rumeal Robinson. 19 years later, Rice was arrested for felony battery. A year after that, Robinson was arrested for bank fraud, bribery, wire fraud, and a host of other felonies. He conned his own mother into using her house as collateral for a loan that he wound up defaulting on. That championship banner still hangs proudly. A few years after the championship, the Fab 5 team got some illegal benefits from a booster. The school vacated two championship appearances, conference championships, and a host of other honors and awards connected to the booster scandal. It's not about what sort of shitbags the players wound up being decades later... It's about what they did while they were there. Just like O.J. is still in the NFL Hall of Fame (and his NFL HOF biography mentions the 2000 yard season but nothing about murder allegations), he's still the Heisman winner. I wouldn't honor the guy at halftime if I were USC, but the Heisman is still legit.

Troy Writer Thinks Unt Will Be Improved Team In '10

This is why I've always been an advocate of Montessori football. -
I'd say FAU is free to talk as much trash as they want, too. Not Western Kentucky, though. SCOREBOARD.

Back in 2006 when Dickey had his heart attack, he was recovering and well enough to participate in the October 16th edition of weekly conference call the coaches do for the media. After Dickey made his address to the media, the next coach up was Larry Blakeney at Troy. He was so disoriented and confused because he had no idea anything had happened to Dickey that an SBC rep had to interrupt the call and promise Blakeney that he'd call and fill in all the details later if Blakeney would just please get back to his responsibilities on the call. At that time, we were Troy's next opponent. The coaches in this league follow things so closely, at least one of them didn't even realize the next coach he was facing had been knocked out of the next game because of a heart attack.

Which Would Be Better For Nt In 2010 ?
TheTastyGreek replied to Texas Stranger's topic in Mean Green Football
Don't get me wrong... A win over Oklahoma would be HUGE, and would definitely get this thing off to a great start. But if I had to choose between six wins or a bowl game... I'd rather see us in the bowl. Especially if it means beating SMU, too. Such optimistic days... We were all so young and foolish then. -
Safety backpedaled? Ran off with his Four-Four speed? Let's blame his father.

I think Charles Manson could get us into the WAC. Hopefully, if he's here for conference work, he can do a little better than getting us an offer that's been on the table for years.
-
Agree. I just think Leach might still be able to land himself at a lower level BCS conference school, whereas we probably could have landed Fran last fall. Neinas has been involved in hiring a lot of people, that was just the first name that jumped out at me as potentially relevant to our situation. It's all just speculation. Not quite freakin' transient kitsch, but somewhere about as valuable.
-
Well, thank you, sir. Fun fact about Neinas as a consultant for a Texas school: His was the search firm that got Franchione to A&M.
-
His background and accolades in conference consulting are FAR overshadowed by his experience in guiding schools though the search and hire for football coaches. We brought him in after the big hubbub over conference realignment ended, but just before the start of a big ultimatum year for our coach, and in our final season before we move to a new facility. Ninjaface?

You're up to even again. For at least a day or two, I can afford to be magnanimous.

Gas up the plane, my friend... The 35 pages of comic tomfoolery put me back in the lead. You know who else wanted everyone to know about their plane flying abilities? Al Qaeda. Just something for everyone else to think about as the battle for GMG prom king continues to rage.

I like it. It's not a "High School" plan or a "College" plan. It's a Fundraising plan. And we think it can lead to great things here.

Serious: This kid seems like a great add if we can bring him in at this point. Semi-serious: On the subject of basketball acquisitions, the DMN website says the Mavericks may have dumped Damp and Najera to Git Sum Pitchin'.

Eh... I've never considered myself a pure "1". Happy birthday, Courtland.
