  1. I'm starting to miss jersey talk, band complaints, hypothetical realignment, and Why Don't We Schedule threads.
  2. I had offers out to Saks, Macy's... Top shelf stores that get national attention from power shoppers. Ultimately, it didn't pan out... But I offered to register with them early, and I think the fact that we were competing for their attention shows that my upcoming marriage is really developing nicely.
  3. Busy day with the future mother in law and Mrs. Big day planned. Maybe go to Bed Bath and Beyond. If we've got time. Don't know if we'll have enough time.
  4. Emfinger says that last night's performance was a high 3 star showing. Maybe 4. That's a positive.
  5. There's a phrase for its multi-purpose, unpredictable, always exciting nature... I just can't think of it.
  6. If we don't get a 2010 eligible kid, we'll have 2 ships open for any mid-year transfers. If someone (similar to what happened with Drew Gordon leaving UCLA for New Mexico) wants out of a tough situation at the semester break, we could bring them in over the holidays, and they'd be eligible for 2/3rds of next season. I know there have been at least two guys who have been mentioned as possible transfers from BCS programs interested in us. I'd rather have McGhee for 4 years and a year to develop as a reserve, but at this point we just need to lock in talent that can come in and help us avoid a dropoff/rebuilding year.
  7. I love the power generation ideas. He's a running back, why not have him run on a treadmill or a man-sized hamster wheel when he's exercising and use that energy to power the GAB? And for whoever suggested Dunbar as a kicker... I like it. He's got strong leg muscles... He could probably deliver from 40+ yards. I just wonder why we forced Dunbar to try and pick up yardage from the press box most of last season. Good thing someone finally realized he's much more effective down on the field.
  8. With his quickness and agility, I'd love to see what he can do as a situational pass rusher. Bring him in off the edge on 3rd and longs? Could cause some havoc.
  9. I said it before, I'll say it again: NOTHING would surprise me tomorrow. Big win and a first step on the way to 7+ wins? 3+ TD blowout loss that tanks the whole season? Nothing is out of the question.
  10. If "A.I." got wasted and hooked up with "There Will Be Blood" while "Back to School" filmed the whole thing, you'd get "Inception".
  11. I distinctly remember the grackle infestation, and the unfortunate side effects that came with it. All over the sidewalks and benches. Anyway, that situation was the inspiration for one of the all time greatest headlines I've ever seen in any publication: "Birds Leave Big Flocking Mess". I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the NT Daily because of that one.
  12. When I woke up today, I thought... "I hope I get to read what some dude with a bleacher report account has to say about hypothetical conference realignment". At least... I think I woke up today and thought that. Also: Inception = Minority Report masquerading as 2001: A Space Odyssey. Discuss.
  13. And they beat a ranked Vandy team last year and a #3 Louisville team the year before. Don't believe the crocodile tears from Hilltopper fans. WKU is going to be just fine this year. It's a tough schedule, but they'll get their 20 wins.
  14. What non-NT players do we as Mean Green fans believe really stand out as omissions?
  15. Gotcher is Chip Armelin. Don't hold your breath. All signs are that the kid is going to dangle out for a BCS level offer. And frankly, I like the 2 and 3 we've already landed in the past 6 months better than him. With McGhee and Jordan Williams here for the next 3-4 years, he's less critical than landing Abram/York or one of the interior players. If he decides to come here, that's great and he'd be an asset. But my expectations are about as close to zero as you can get and my level of sorrow over potentially not landing him is even less. The guy I'm really curious to hear about is Terran Petteway, the guy that Cooley likes so much for us. Sounds like a taller, better option.
  16. YOU LEAVE JOHNNY OUT OF THIS.
  17. Wait... The Easter Bunny was involved in this somehow? Ninjaface? Somebody tell the truther people... I'll call Willie Nelson, someone call Mark Stepnoski.
  18. And if the Mrs. says anything, give her a little dose of that same medicine. For the younger members of the forum... If you're looking for Mrs. Right (or, let's all be honest, Mrs. Likely-to-stay-hot-enough-and-also-good-at-cooking-and-ironing-and-knows-to-shut-up-when-something-good-is-on-TV), you need to find out the answer to the two most important questions for a strong, long term relationship: 1) Can she take a punch? 2) Can she keep a secret? If the answer to both questions is yes, you'll be able to work through any of the inevitable problems or disagreements that pop up in every relationship. If not, there may be trouble on the horizon. If she's got a glass jaw, then you'll inevitably have emergency room people asking how she fell down stairs in your one story house. And if she can't keep a secret... Well, that's just not a good situation at all.
  19. I thought we weren't supposed to tell this story? You better hope a mod doesn't see this.
  20. Are you telling him to FIX THE PROBLEM?
  21. When? The time he said that no matter how much pizza you buy them or how much you have your people bend over backwards to support their flag football game, they may not be the most logically consistent or reasonable people on earth? I paraphrase slightly, of course...
  22. It was payback because our defense bitchjacked his zebra buddy at the start of the game.
  23. Not a knock on Tune, who I thought did just fine... But a comment on a type of phrasing that always makes me smile. I paraphrase: "If you take away the flaws, it was almost flawless". You can't argue with that sort of logic. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
  24. We looked like a legitimate college team yesterday. Clemson obviously had the size and talent advantage, but we looked like we belonged on that field. Call it negative if you want, but there haven't been many times when we could honestly say that over the past 3 years. And we looked legit against Clemson, not inept against Florida International. That's the really encouraging thing. I'm still avoiding any expectations, but yesterday was a much better viewing experience (and not just because of the wonderful company) than I ever dreamed it would be.
