Are you sure you can't just start 3 or 4 new ones repeating what you already said?
-
Well, to be blunt... Of all the heroes we lost on 9/11, Tune was the one Mean Green fans recognized and were ready to rally around. I think you're proving to us all how much you hate our Mean Green nation right now. If you don't get on the team, I'm going to have you shipped off to the visiting locker room at Fouts and throw a media guide in the toilet to break you down.

Other than Jeremiah Chapman, Kelvin Drake, Casey Fitzgerald, Victor Gill, Eddie Gilmore, Maurice Holman, Brandon Jackson, Derek Mendoza, Brandon Monroe, Joe Miller, Tobe Nwigwe, Craig Robertson, Draylen Ross (a career of criminal underutilization), Esteban Santiago, Truman Spencer, Montey Stevenson, Brock Stickler, Aaron Weathers, Nathan Tune, and JAMARIO FREAKING THOMAS... I can't think of another Dickey recruit who was worth a damn for Dodge. Unless you count Meager, Burruss, Ike Thomas, Steve Warren, Chad Rose, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Good thing we ran off guys like Peachey and Banks, who only showed FLASHES of potentially exceptional talent. Can we PLEASE put this thing to bed yet? Hell, there were SIX DICKEY RECRUITS IN THE STARTING LINEUP at the start of this year! Dodge has had four years of recruits come into the program, and out of 24 starting positions (11 on each side plus a kicker and punter), a quarter of the damn starting lineup that everyone was fawning over our potential was Dickey recruits. Take out the specialists, and it's 6 out of 22. And FIVE OF THEM ARE ON OFFENSE! If the damn cupboard was sooooooo bare, why was half the starting offense still Dickey guys if our offensive specialist coach with all the great HS connections and the exceptional recruiting skills has had FOUR RECRUITING CLASSES to bring in his own guys? If you don't count Draylen Ross as a starter at TE, then it's down to four out of eleven. Four out of eleven. If you don't count Ross as a starter, he's the ONLY Dickey recruit left on the offensive side of the ball that WASN'T a starter. ENOUGH ABOUT THE BARE CUPBOARD.

I bet it would be over 1000 if the weather were better, if we had the new stadium, or if we hadn't had 5 losing seasons in a row.

Yes. Anything of monetary value. If you want to make a gesture in his honor, donate a token sum to the Athletics department and ask them to pass along that you gave the money in his honor. Ask them to put it towards rehab facility maintenance or strength and conditioning supplies.
-
He's still a scholarship athlete. As noble as the gesture is, don't anyone give him anything of any monetary value. Seriously.

Welcome to the Hall of Fame, sir.

Bubble screen: Yea or Nay? What about if you're up by 3 with less than 10 seconds left... Do you foul intentionally? If two triple option teams play each other to a 3-2 final, is that like a 21-14 result in some other sport?

And now, in our darkest hour, when brother turns against brother... A sacrificial lamb comes along to unite us in our rage and anger.

I don't blame the players OR the coaches. I blame the Jews, the Moozlims, Catholic priests, the Christian right, the liberal media, the Tea Party, the Illuminati, the Elks (for some reason), the Masons, illegal immigrants, students, alums, the fans, the non-fans who don't follow or support the team, Darrell Dickey, Mack Brown, women voters, Asian drivers, the BCS cartel, the weather, Obama, Reagan, Clinton, FDR, Woodrow Wilson, Jerry Jones (for running Jimmy Johnson out of town), the failure of public schools to properly educate students in mathematics and the hard sciences, deficit spending, multiculturalism, ethnocentrism, Iraq, the Taliban, and Cobra Commander. And, of course, I blame Bruce McCulloch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNQvjpwSNBo

Persepctive From A New Season Ticket Holder

My mission today is to make as many on-topic jokes that don't actually stake out a position as I possibly can. I will avoid taking a side publicly so as to use the medicine that is laughter to heal all factions of our little online community. Also, I'd never run game on a guy who could probably castrate me with a snapped football.
-
To be fair, you DID say everyone could "Say what (they) want". Don't backslide when you've already given permission.
-
I think that if we've learned anything from the Dodge era, it's that no matter how simple, obvious, or undeniable the truth may be, a lot of people here can convince themselves it isn't the truth.
-
I don't think he's your guy, buddy.
-
I gave you a specific topic (two, actually) to discuss. This wasn't it. This is a warning. Next time I may have to use a -1.
-
Mike Leach would get us to Tier 1 and bring the Law School back under the UNT-Denton banner. Discuss.
-
Not even with the new stadium. Not even on a 2-for-1.

After last week, we were all suffering from delusions of adequacy. Canales is Luke Wilson, we're the future of America. Brought to you by Carl's Jr.
-
We've got THREE kickers. THREE of them. Rice may get better results, but we've got them outnumbered. We just need to use our kicking depth to wear them down and take advantage late in the game.

BOOM, roasted! Slow down, I only get 5 plus-ones a day.

Lines are open... Oklahoma, I'm not hearing from you!

One positive that nobody has mentioned is that we've never had to replace any torn down goalposts during the Dodge era. Those things can get expensive, and people often get hurt in the jubilant celebrations that accompany a goal post tear down. The liability from an injury lawsuit could have been terrible. With all the money we've saved by hanging on to the same goal posts for 4 years, we ought to have some extra cash on hand to spend on other things. Also, this looks like another year where we possibly won't have to worry about bowl eligibility. Most bowl games are financially a net loss proposition. For 3 straight years (and counting), we've managed to avoid throwing money away on travel and lodging for a frivolous 13th game. So... Fiscally speaking, there are a lot of positives to be taken from last night. And competitively... 56 points down, 1 (critical) point to go when it comes to closing the gap on the perennial powerhouse that is Rice football and Dave Baliff.

I think that if Mike Leach had "lock people in a shed" written into his contract, there would be a LINE of people (me at the front) volunteering for prisoner duty to keep him happy and around to coach this team.
