Don't worry about Troy. They'll suck this year, but they've already signed a promising recruit that's a perfect fit for their system. Our preseason take on ULL was that Marlin is going to get them to contend within 2 or 3 years, but they probably didn't have the weapons or depth (both Louisiana schools are fighting some APR penalties) to do much this year. Still, good coaching can go a long way, and it wasn't impossible that Marlin would get past Johnson's graduation and Gradnigo's transfer to put a solid team on the floor. Doesn't look like they're going to crash the SBC's top 5 this year, though.

If you're feeling up to targeting assistant coaches, you might want to remind Tech Associate Head Coach Chris Beard what a godawful coaching failure he was in the Super Pit as a Vic Trilli assistant.

I was just thinking of how rude we're being by hanging all our banners in front of our guests from Texas Tech. We won our conference, and we're hanging a banner. They didn't win theirs. We won our tournament, and we're hanging a banner. They didn't win theirs. We earned an NCAA berth, and we're hanging a banner. They didn't get one. Maybe we could hang up something temporary to make the Red Raiders feel special? Something to remind them of their "accomplishments" from the 2009-10 season? Maybe we can get something printed up before tipoff. We wouldn't want to be impolite.

Not trying to be a jerk... But questions like "What was the attendance for the ____ game?" don't need to be rhetorical. Both the official site and ESPN, among many others, list that information for every game in recent history. 6,793. If we're under 7k tomorrow, I'll be surprised and disappointed.
