Do you honestly think that if the people on this board complain enoughthey are going to make DD change? Get real! Nothing we complain about on this board is going to change anything. DD and his gameplan are going to stay the same as long as he wins more than he loses, atleast for the time being. OOC important as they are, will not get anyone at NT fired, or forced to change philosophy at this point. 3 years after our new stadium, maybe, but we are not even close to that point. Do not pride yourselves to highly as far as change goes. RV and the admin know what they have in DD, and they are glad he is around.

What are you going to do about that? As important as out team playing well is finding a way to do the impossible and get people into the seats on a Tuesday night for a nationally televised game. Instead of figuring out ways to bash the offense, defense, COACHING, figure out a way you can actually help. PUT SOMEONE IN THE SEATS TUESDAY! You can do all the bitching and moaning you want about offense, defense, COACHING, but you are not going to get anything done! We all can do something about attendence. I don't know how many people we all brought with us that don't usually come to the Tulsa game. Hell, I brought about 6 extras. As fans we need to make sure to make a HUGE effort to not make us look like a D3 school in the stands. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO TO PUT PEOPLE IN THE STANDS FOR TUESDAY? I am disappointed in all of this damn negativity! There are a ton of people on this board that are really making me sick! He is 5 for 14, but Muzzy has dropped 3, and Mitchell has dropped 1. That would 9-14 and I would be VERY happy with that. I heard George say that a couple of the drops were high, but VERY catchable. I also like the fact that Meager seems to be making the decisions to run when he has to, or throw it away if it is not there. The score is lopsided, but I do see some improvement. I agree. It doesn't have to be only WR screens, but I some NT run a ton of slants in the scrimmages and I really haven't seen us go to that during the season at all. A short passing game will get people out of the box. We don't have to run the spread to get to a 7 man box. I think people are obsessed with getting the ball deep down field, and that would really yank extra defenders from the box, but wea re not that team right now. Show something in the passing game, short passes to intermediate, and that 8th and ninth guy will have to defend, or we are going to nickel and dime them down the field all night. Perfect example is what Texas State sis to A&M the other night. They were very efficient in theie short-mid range passing game.

You know what, how many practices have you been too? Meetings? How many conversations have you had with these QB's? You know what, we might as well name you the freakin' Head Coach since you are so damned smart! If UNT knew we had a professional QB coach among us on this board we would have killed Tulsa 77-2. I like how people think because they have watched a couple of scrimmages they "KNOW" who the "obvious" QB should be. I am not going to lie, I am a Meager fan, I am on the band wagon. That being said, I know there isn't probably a whole lot of difference between the two. Remember when Hall and Smith were going at it in 2003, each played a half of every game basically until conference, and then they made a decision. That was because they were that close in talent. Maybe from practices, film sessions, etc. the coaches have found out that it is better to make this Meager's team. LETS LEAVE IT UP TO THE FOOTBALL COACHES TO MAKE THE FOOTBALL DECISIONS. If it were that "obvious" that Phillips was the better guy, I am assuming that is who you were referring to, he would be playing a whole hell of alot more. CASE CLSOED!

For these reasons alone, we keep DD for as along as we are lucky enough to keep him here. Guy swe are having the same problems that OU is having without the same level of talent. Before you all roast me, I know we are not Ou, and I am not comparring us to them, except for the fact that we are in similar situations. Guys it is hard to win with a QB new to a certain level: JV to varsity Highschool to college College to the NFL This is why all offenses in this situation are bad. This is something we are going to have to work through. MAY THE FOOTBALL GODS HAVE PITTY ON OUR OPPONENTS IN 2006!
