I totally agree with MeanGreenPOP, people who expect anything different aren't that familiar with PLAYING the game!

So! 48% is nothing to write home about. To get this out of the way I know there will be a post about Meager not hitting a 48% clip, but I am not going to put that in the paper either.

Bomar does play in the Big XII, but he has Big XII talent surrounding him. Meager is a Sunbelt QB with Sunbelt talent supporting him. No one is trying to say that Maeger and Bomar are equal in QB ability/talent, but they are each having the same problems in the conferences they are in. That being said Stoops still believes that Bomar is the man at OU for the FUTURE, there is no reason that we shouldn't be able to feel the same about Meager.

Ratings never won or lost football games, but they will get a coach fired, just sad!

No one was physically threatened! I simply messaged him to let him know to back off! He was taking things a little too far with his comments. I chose to voice this to him in a PM. He needs to watch out what he says, and remember this is message board not a playground for name calling. I was complimented though, when he thought I was going to fight him like a middle schooler, he said he thought I might be an ex-player. I think you would be hard pressed to find many teams, BCS included, that would not accept 4 straight conference championships, if they would have to forfeit OOC success. There are like 117 schools, give me a number, there will be some, that will not accept the success we have had over the last 4 years

I want us to see these numbers across the board for every game! That is a horrible number for a HOME OPENER! I am not even going to begin to talk about attendence records at this school. That is not important to me. The products on the field are totally different. If you think attendence is fine, explain to me what is going to happen next home game. If we had fan support that was worth a flip, we would have 20,000, even with our record. Just to clarify, I am not talking about the people that are the games religiously, and I would hate not to include the Mighty Stebo who believes he is the best fan out there with all of his grand memories of yesteryear. I am talking about the fan base as a whole. I also don't want to hear about that Denton crowd BS. To solve everyones gripes, MARKETING, COACHING, STADIUM, IT ALL COMES DOWN TO FAN SUPPORT, AND OUR LACK OF!

We sit here and gripe about everything but fan support. I am not talking about crap saidf on this board, it is the same everywhere. i have a friend who is on an OU board that is calling for the firing of Stoops. Stupid things will be said on these boards. (someone will quote that) Guys our fan support SUCKS! After the last 4 years, 23,000 should be a Tuesday night in the rain! There is no reason that if we had REAL fan support we shouldn't be selling out Fouts. If we had REAL fan support we shouldn't be playing at FOUTS! You want better athletes? FILL FOUTS! You want better coaches? FILL FOUTS! You want better anything? FILL FOUTS! Do you wnat to blame it on anything else? Watch out 23,000, and then we drew a mind numbing 17,000. After the last 4 years, 23,000 should be a bad night. 23,000 and 17,000 are not what coaches salivate over. You will never get any coach, fan friendly, or Dickey, to say, "I am so HAPPY that we got a whopping freakin' 23,000 out to out season opener!" Attendence numbers are not on our side of any argument, unless you are talking about the lack of support. Real fan support would have us a stadium built. HSO

Against triple coverage and a third string defense. It was a pass that could have been just as easily picked off. I will throw out my same argument that I had about Byerly last year. If Phillips was anything, he would be playing. There is no other reason for him not to be playing. If he had a CHANCE of making us play any better he would be in there right now. He would atleast had been given some playing time. HIM NOT PLAYING SHOULD TELL US ALL HOW HE IS HANDLING THE COLLEGE GAME, NO VERY WELL. Remeber it is not like we were falling all over our selves trying to recruit this kid. If he was a college QB he would have been signed. We picked him up after national signing day was well over. Texas is a team OU is supposed to compete with, was my point. Texas is a team that is on their level. Troy is on our level was the second part of my point. The kid is going to be here for us, I just wish we could all be around for him.

Watching that Texas/OU game made me see our season from a different perspective. Bomar is going to be a good QB, but he looked just like MEAGER today. The comparison is relavent to. Texas is to OU competition wise what Troy is to us. OU is going to screw around with rotating QB's, they are going to take their lumps, and get their team ready for 2006. THE SAME THING WE SHOULD DO, AND ARE DOING! Do not mess around with switching QB's, let Meager take his lumps and get ready for 2006. Seriously, did Bomar not look exactly like Meager today? Overthrow, underthrow, scramble a little bit, make SOME solid throws. I think Bomar will be good, I think Meager will eventually look good, but today's game made me a little bit more comfortable with our guy. That being said, I wish Mack Brown would have hung 70 on them.

The Sunbelt is not using replay this year

Don't get me wrong, the offense could have played a ton better, but the defense gave up 283 yards rushing. There is no reason for us to give up that many yards to Troy of all people. I do not care what the excuse is, time of possesion, philosophy, etc. This is simply ridiculous!
