  1. THIS IS OFFICIALLY THE WORST POST EVER! NEVER have I been so excited then so let down in all my days...
  2. Can't make huge financial decisions based on speculation
  3. Firing Etheridge really doesn't doa a whole lot for this program...he coaches the OL, but the offensive system has to go. Running a zone blocking with our OL is going to be hard to do whoever the OL coach is. A new OFFENSIVE SYSTEM is needed, not necessarily a new OL caoch.
  4. There is no point in discussing Dickey getting fired because we do not have the money to cut ties with him and hire any coach that would be worth hiring at the same time. QUIT WASTING YOUR TIME POSTING ABOUT THIS TOPIC! No matter how you argue the point, it isn't possible to come up with that kind of money. You would have to give Dickey somewhere in the ballpark of $800K to buyout his final two years, and then pay a quality replacement at least an equal amount of $400K per year. That is $1,200,000 we would have to shell out in coaches salary in 2007, just to our head coaches past and present. OVER 1 MILLION DOLLARS! This WILL NOT happen at NT. There just isn't that kind of money floating around to do that. BEST CASE SCENARIO IS THAT WE GET A NEW OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR THAT DICKEY WILL ALLOW TO RUN THE OFFENSE WITHOUT HIS OVERSIGHT, AT LEAST IN PLAY CALLING. Lets put this dead horse topic to bed...PLEASE! It isn't worth anymore breath or effort. Dickey will be back for one more year IF NOT TWO MORE YEARS!
  5. CORRECTION: HEAR should be HERE - I am not an idiot just angry and finding it hard to type.
  6. A Div II school, who hadn't had football since 1985 until a couple of years ago, raised 5 MILLION dollars from fans to bring program back. Why can't we raise that kind of money??? They put people in the seats with a wide open offense installed by Hal Mummy before he went to NMST. Hmmm...I wonder if we could put a wide open offense on the field...something that fans could get excited about...could we actually do the unthinkable and raise 5 million? That would get the stadium started from what I hear. Grand idea...put a product on the field that is entertaining and people want to come and watch and donate money to your program. FIRE DD NOW AND HIS RIDICULOUS IDEA OF AN OFFENSIVE PHILOSOPHY, AND BRING SOMEONE IN HEAR THAT CAN MOVE THE BALL AND PUT POINTS ON THE BOARD. WE HAVE TALENT, WE NEED A COACH THAT CAN USE THE TALENT AND PUT THEM IN SITUATIONS TO BE GREAT!
  7. He was our offensive coordinator at NT before going to Carroll
  8. Let me add all of the positives I can come up with...uh...well...I dunno
  9. He would be huge for recruiting, and he almost got a job for the Cowboys. If Parcels thinks he can coach in the NFL I will take him at NT in the Belt
  10. Dodge doesn't even make $90,000 a year. It was posted here and in the paper not too long ago
  11. I happened to talk to a very close friend of Todd Dodge tonight, and he told me that there is no chance Dodge comes to NT if Dickey is fired. It deals with issues with his son only being a junior this year, and the fact that there might be more interesting offers on the horizon. Take him off the list.
  12. My point was simply that if you do not know the basics of what you are talking about, you do not have the authority to attack a player's flaw. If you want to use the math example, 2+2=5, you are right, you can correct that person if you can do math. BUT, if you can't do math you have no room to talk to him. If you have never been between the lines, you have no business ripping a player for a mistake he made between the lines. They are out there doing something that you have no experience with, therefore you have no credibility. Enough said...nothing about being a jock, I would not judge an accountant on their practices at work if I wasn't an accountant
  13. I just sent a PM to twodogs because I think it is ridiculous that some of you who make outlandish brash statements about players, coaches, AD's, ect, and you obviously have no clue about the game. Some of you feel qualified to bash players and coaches, yet the closest you have ever been to the game, or a set of pads in your life is when you come the Fouts on Saturdays to get out of your little suburbian hole to have a few beers with guys in order to feel like a "real man" again, before you go back in Sunday to take your wife to Bed, Bath, & Beyond to go shop for curtains to match the couch in the living room. Understand this, what goes on when you are between the lines is between the players and coaches. Before you criticize put yourself in the situation. Try fielding a punt, throwing a pass, making a tackle, ect. The shit aint all that easy! I know some on this board have been between the lines, as have I, but many of you haven't, and for you people SHUT THE HELL UP when talking about players. Bash coaches, play callign and all of that, but especially you have never put on the pads, leave players out of it. YOU REALLY DON'T HAVE A CLUE!
  14. Wasting his redshirt for the last 5 games would be the most ridiculous thing that could be done right now. I have heard a ton of stupid crap on this board, but that takes the cake. Do not even think of playing Tune this season!
  15. Maybe that can be our big promotion for the game...BRING YOUR FAVORITE BAG TO WEAR OVER YOUR HEAD DAY! Everyone in protest of the complete mediocrity that Dickey puts on the field can wear a bag over their headf for the LaTech game. Just think if we had a real coach with some of the talent we do have... BRING ON DODGE!!!! Or just ant coach that can bring anything that resembles on offense
  16. I honestly think about every weekend we play
  17. pretty tough to look at all the players that are no longer here, and the lack of IMPACT players. You could argue that Holman is the only IMPACT player from this class
  18. I second this opinion...you will be hard pressed to find people on this board that don't hold their coaches to high standards. That is why you find the large majority calling for the guy's head.
  19. ...but my days backing this coach or over. This loss, a shutout to a Sunbelt team, a rival, have truly shown us what rock bottom is. It is time for new faces...new ideas...a fresh start. DD has done GREAT things here, but his hour glass has run empty. 4 STRAIGHT SUNBELT TITLES... 1) Cannot recruit a QB 2) Cannot recruit any linemen 3) Cannot win out of conference games 4) Cannot stay CLOSE in most out of conference games 5) Cannot win the fans over -- IN 9 YEARS Now take a look at what a coaching change can do for a team... Look no further than Middle Tennessee State University. McCollum's guys were horrible. Stockstill has taken the same guys, and is making them play without any of the stupid mistakes they used to make (turnovers, penalties, ect), the same mistakes we make every week. I am not just speaking of last night's game either, just look at their game reviews over this season. They are a much sounder team. He has changed their offensive system, the defensive sytem, and their attitude. Who would have thought that a coach would come in and get rid of the spread offense in these days? You can look all over footbal at any level, sometimes a breath of fresh air in the coaching ranks brings a renewed vigor, an new WINNING attitude. In talking with a very respected gomeangreen.com member not too long ago, he told me what a great guy DD is, a guy who you would love to have as a neighbor. He also told me that being a great guy doesn't make you a great coach. He told me that as great a guy as DD is, he is not good for this program. I must say I now agree. This is not being negative, I think that DD has done great things here, but it is time to move on after this season. I will still back the program...will be there for every home game, but at season's end I will now be expecting a coaching change. The program, the players, the fans, the university, and the work that DD has done for the program...all deserve what is best, and what is best is for DD to be replaced. Here is to continued support of the players...come loud and proud regardless who is coaching. GO MEAN GREEN!
  20. I have NEVER in my days of being a Mean Green fan been so low after a loss! I have been positive on every front with regards to our coach, I have backed him in every situation. I now understand he must go...we have got to get new blood in this thing. A shutout loss to a Sunbelt team is without excuse. These are truly dark days.
  21. Sign him up...HOLY CRAP!
  22. Just to throw my opinion out there...I think if this team went 9-3, you would still have people out there saying the sky is falling. Raining on the parade of would be a phenominal 9-3 season.
  23. What if...we ran the table...including La Tech? That would mean we won the Belt...something not many people I guess care about anymore, because hey the is the Sunbelt. (meant to be snide) BUT...we would have also gone 2-2 outside the conference (I know we play 5 games outside of conference, but I don't count UT as a winable game no matter what some of you think, or what kind of fan that makes me) We would be 9-3, wins against SMU and LaTech, both at home, our only losses against UT, Tulsa (both pretty damn good teams), and Akron who the book is still out on. We would also be going to another Bowl. We would only be losing arguably 5 impact seniors, making us a front runner for 2007. Would you...especially you "negative posters", and anyone else for that matter still be on DD's ass? Very interested...this could very well happen. I also understand worse things could happen, but running the table is definitely a possibility.
  24. Yes, say this so that everyone can put up in their locker rooms, and make every game that much more tougher on a very young team who already has its work cut out for them. Lets say all these things so that the fans on gomeangreen.com can get a warm fuzzy feeling in their bellies Some of guys really whip me sometimes.
  25. You're putting things in there that I really didn;t see from that interview. DD seemed pretty pissed to me. He implied that they should have compwted better, and could have won
