  1. Is all this possible due to RETSO's sign during ESPN College Gameday during the Big XII Championship Game???
  2. Meager did RS
  3. Not bashing your post here, but Vizza is a TRUE FRESHMAN...18-19 yrs old. Last year this time he was playing in high school. He will be better
  4. Don't hold your breath on signing all of them this early in the game...there is a long road still to travel in the recruiting game before February. 2-10 isn't going to help keeping a firm grasp on those committments
  5. There are (2) 1 win teams in 1A, SMU and now Fl-Intl'...both beat us. Fl-Intl' has scored over 20 points 3 times prior to tonight, 24,28, and 23...we allow 38 We have allowed 70+ points TWICE in the same season We have allowed over 500 yds offense to an opponent 4 times We have allowed over 600 yds offense to an opponent 2 times I could go on even further... THEN WE GET THE FREAKIN AWESOME NEWS THAT OUR DC GETS TO STAY AROUND FOR ANOTHER YEAR! I KNOW I WROTE JUST TODAY ABOUT MAYBE THE PLAYERS DIDN'T FIT THE SYSTEM, BUT crap, 38 to Fl-Intl'? How can anyone in there right mind think this is going to get turned around? ON THE FIELD...this is the same thing we were all up in arms about with Dickey, except the sides of the ball are flipped. Dodge's defense is just as inept as Dickey's offense I know Dodge has done GREAT things as far as PR goes, but on the field, something has to be done. How long does ANYONE think this momentum from his hiring is going to last going 2-9 again next year? Honestly! Not real damn long! This CRAP cannot continue. The program has got to placed above friendships. It would be one thing if Mendoza had done something before, and people were calling for his head after one bad year, he is absolutely in over his head. DUMP THE GREEN COOL-AID PEOPLE THAT ARE TALKING ALL THIS GARBAGE ABOUT BEING NICE TO HIM, AND PROVIDING HIM ANOTHER CHANCE TO LEARN. Brothers at this level you need to be doing the teaching, not needing tutorials! FIRE MENDOZA
  6. He called me this morning and told me he didn't get back from the riverwalk last night until about 3:30am last night, so he just went with the sign from yesterday. He was hungover an tired, but made it out there and got yesterday's sign visible yet again. Still pretty great!
  7. He is out there again...over Herbstreit's left shoulder! Same sign
  8. RETSO called to tell me he has another sign for tomorrow. It is just as good as the one he had today, but I don't want to spoil it There will be a lot of other signs from other teams tomorrow, but he is going to try and get NT some more air time with another Mean Green sign on College Gameday which starts at 9am...keep a look out
  9. RETSO is the creator of that AWESOME sign! Go MEAN GREEN!
  10. The owner is no other than my season ticket partner, and tailgate buddy RETSO! He has served the Mean Green Nation admirably! He had his students doing worksheets all day yesterday while he was brainstorming a sign that would make the Mean Green Nation proud! I just got off the phone with him, and he said he stood out in the rain for almost two hours to get that position. Congrats to the Mighty RETSO!
  11. Tap the breaks on this story...I am hearing that this isn't necessarily going to happen. Galloway and Company said this is not as sure a thing as what is being printed
  12. I agree...I mean how much time would it really take him to shake 100-200 hands. 1-11 + Rain + cold + Students being gone for break = 200 fans in the stands
  13. I would rather wear pink helmets and the "Dickey Black Shirts" and be 8-4 and going to a bowl
  14. That is all the reason anyone should need. I will never forget Patrick Cobbs and his senior day...same situation, right after Thanksgiving, and I think the official attendance was 8,000. RETSO and I who go to every game, winless, or bowl ready, as many of you do, were in the stands that day and will find it hard to be convinced there were more than 2,000 in the stands that Saturday. It was a true shame to see Cobbs go out on senior day like that. Lets not let this happen to this year's seniors...please go out and support these guys who have played their hearts out regardless of the record...we owe them that at least.
  15. I have it on very solid knowledge that he was signed to a "Futures contract" or something along those lines, where they have his rights for next year. It doesn't mean that he has a contract, but G.B. has his rights for 2008.
  16. Singletary is a hot comodity in the pros, why would he not be a GREAT choice for Baylor. I think that if they could convince him, which would be a tough sell, this move could be the best one to make. It could possibly have the same effect the Dodge hire for us had, as far as alumni support and renewed interest, plus like I said he is a hot comdity. I personally think it would be a great hire.
  17. http://www.dentonrc.com/sharedcontent/dws/....2057fb8f6.html No excuse!
  18. Have you seen Riley? The kid is SMALL. Not saying he can't be productive, but don't cast off the fact that he is a small guy. He not 6'0" like Rivals lists him.
  19. Early and Ransom didn't play anything close to meaningful snaps last year. Both if I remember correctly were hurt most of the season. The bolded players I have highlighted, yes were counted on, but they have not shown me anything...Loren played in a handful of game slast year, paperwork issues and a broken thumb Gary Oubre...not even worth my time typing...never played significant snaps Chatman...could you call his time significant??? Tye Rexrode...never has played significant snaps My point is that these players if they were around would not make this defense signifiactly better. I think some of these players listed might not contribute at all if they were here or healthy. The problem on defense deals with philosophy...not players so much. Yes, I know that you have to have the players on the field, but the players we are putting on the field are not this bad...YOU CANNOT GET ME TO BELIEVE THAT! You do not in one year get this bad, and blame it on the players when the same unit returns in tact with the exception of the defensive coordinator. I am not saying anyone is blaming the players...I am just at a loss, and it is beating me down trying to figure it out. I want to give this staff time just like many of you, but theis defense is wheels off, and I JUST CANNOT SEE HOW ANYONE CAN LOGICALLY, that means without green glasses on, TELL ME THAT THEY EXPECT US TO BE BETTER ON DEFENSE NEXT YEAR, AND WE LOSE 6/11 STARTERS. Key starters at that! Someone rationally explain how this happens without major coaching changes on that side of the ball. You do not normally get younger and get significantly better. There is a learning curve.
  20. But if Dodge doesn't realize this, it doesn't matter. If we wants to play the loyalty card and refuse to let him go, after this season or next, I just don't see us getting any better. We just showed we can't outscore people...hell we scored 62 points and got beat. It all comes down to the simple question of whether Dodge can make the hard decisions when it comes down to his staff.
  21. Bottom line ladies and gents, you CANNOT score 62 points and lose. We have given up 70+ points twice, 66 points, 48, and 45 twice We give up on average 469 yds/gm...to teams not named Arkansas or Oklahoma. That is 469 yds/gm to teams not ranked, and in our own conference. One of, if not the worst conferences in NCAA Football. We have held one team under 400 yds this season, and that was MTSU...we lost. We gave up 10 yds/carry to Navy...Navy isn't that bad a team, and are very good at what they do, but please...give me a break...10 yds/carry. LAST SEASON we gave up 323 yds/gm not including the Texas game Only 3 times did we give up over 400yds in any game 5 TIMES we held opponents under 300 yds in a game The players that graduated last year...Philip Graves (injured most of the season) and Sky Pruitt Does the loss of those players make that much of a difference? The answer is no. My question is this...How are we going to be better defensively without wholesale changes in philosophy when we are going to be losing the following players??? Montey Stevenson Jeremiah Chapman Maurice Holman Brandon Monroe (Doesn't start but is a senior leader and contributor) Derek Mendoza (Not a NFL type talent, but is solid contributor) Aaron Weathers Tobe Nwigwe...who knows what will happen we he gets out of jail I don't see this defense getting better, and that means abother 0-2 win season. The honeymoon period is going to wear off eventually for Dodge. A change in defensive philosophy is needed now just as much as an offensive change in philosophy was needed with Dickey. This just goes to show that you cannot be horrible at either.
  22. ???
  23. Who is you most hated Sunbelt rival? Not just because we play them next, but I HATE MUTS. I really do not know what it is about those guys, but I cannot stand them. When they came into our house and blanked us last year, I did not know what to do with myself. A MUTS fan did help me get my grill going one year though...my matches sucked and he had a lighter. STILL HATE THEM!
  24. Yes, if he can keep his grades up, and/or stay out of trouble, whatever kept him out of practice this year, he will have two more years in green. His best days are in front of him if he can stay motivated and on top of his business. This guy has always intrigued me, and I cannot wait to see what he can do as a 5th year senior...like I said though, if he can continue to make good decisions from here on out. ***referring to Gilmore
