Smoking a pork shoulder, signature boudin, Texas beans, and looking to grill some corn Oh...we might have some of that brown bottle beverage

Meltdown within the Mean Green Nation

Me too -
I have 2" PVC poles I fly my flags from...I put them in the holes in my bed frame
-
I hope...I really think that we will see a different QB during conference unless DT surprises us all and actually stops throwing off his back foot
-
But didn't he bring BB here???
-
The coaches don't want to be in 2nd and 10 situations every drive...w/ Thompson at the helm, that's what you are looking at more times than not. Possible, observed, results that come from throwing on 1st down w/ Thompson at the helm: 1) over throw 2) under throw 3) pick 4) contorted reception - no RAC b/c the receiver had to break stride to make the catch 5) reception - usually for a short gain b/c it's a swing pass or screen

That is DTs fault...the coaching staff doesn't want to be in a 2nd and 10 situation every time
-
"Flashes of brilliance" Uh...might want to tap the breaks on that one

Best post of the offseason!!!

I have never seen LEADERSHIP complete a pass...
-
He has to show me he can be consistent on GAME DAYS before I can trust him to lead the offense...which I have NEVER seen him do week to week. I will use a Vito standby...never count on someone doing something they've never done He's usually referring to freshman and transfers, but I will refer to our SENIOR...2yr STARTER...QB...ugh
-
Only if your starter throws more picks than TDs, and overthrows wide open receivers on a consistent basis
-
If a senior cannot stand apart from a true freshman, a RS sophomore, and another RS sophomore who hasn't played in 2 yrs, can you really go with him to lead your team? Here's to someone making their mark tomorrow! (a QB that is...)

Good news and bad news out of #1 UNT scrimmage
BIG DAWG replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Just to clarify the chaos, I was referring to our "magic number" to reach bowl eligibility being 6 wins... I in no way tried to lower the expectations of North Texas by implying 6 wins would be so magical we could hang our hats on it and tell our grand kids about the magical year we won 6 games. Give me a damn break...can we fast forward to football season? -
Good news and bad news out of #1 UNT scrimmage
BIG DAWG replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Hey...I would like nothing more than a dominating offense, paired with a dominating defense, BUT I will take ANYTHING that gets us to that magical number of 6 wins -
Honestly wasn't trying to be negative...you will be hard pressed to find another fan pulling harder for him to win this job than me. My comment wasn't really even directed at Brock personally, but our luck with signing "top-rated Rivals" transfers. We just haven't had much luck with them being major contributors, the "game changers" we have hoped for. I completely understand there is much more time in camp, and many other factors... I was just hypothetically asking the question if people would continue to get as fired up for the "top-rated Rivals" transfers if this didn't pan out...again???
-
Do we ever sign another "big school" transfer??? The hopes after signing these guys never...ever...seem to pan out... My fear is he has become another Strafford...remember how that turned out
-
Merit...uh...no

I know many on the board have connections with players, parents, coaches, etc...has anyone heard anything about the QB battle? Is there even a battle to discuss? I haven't disguised my QB preference, I just want to know what I should prepare myself for...

Looks like Sarge McCoy isn't in pads yet...
-
No, I got it...just not used to you taking shots...lol! You are usually our happy peacemaker
-
C'mon KRAM, don't turn to the dark side!

It is a BIG reach to think that we would get a guy like this. I am glad we offer, on the off chance one accepts, but those that think we should be drawing in #1 recruiting classes have always made me laugh a little. ...and while I draw in the -1's...I think Vito does a great job of being objective. HIs job is to back the program to a degree, and I think he is happy when we do well, but he isn't a homer, and it isn't his job to pump rainbows and sunshine up our collective rears all the time either.
