  1. Leave my spelling alone (I only have a degree from a crappy directional state school.) Why can't you people accept incremental success? The team has never drawn huge numbers, or top flight recruits why do people expect that to change over night? The Belt is great becuase its regional competition, where we can be competitive. We won the Belt because we had pretty good D, and a 1000 yr RB each season. Now we're starting to reap the rewards of 4 straight conference title, in a down-year. Why can't YOU accept the reality that things don't happen as fast for this team as YOU wish it would.
  2. I bet we're loosing because YOU didn't cheer hard enough. I really don't understand the nay-sayers on this board. Is it really hard to accept that this is the best NT has ever had? We have a coach who understands what he has to work with, and what type of recruits we can pull. We have an AD who understands how to build a program/fan base incrementally, using the resources we have. We're in a D1 conference that we can be competitive in.
  3. I don't get it. What's wrong with the fan base. Attendence is up. Merchandising is up. Media coverage is up. Wait the team as lost 3 games an all those things are still happening. So what's wrong with the fan base again?
  4. Woo, the new streak is on!
  5. The cost will be over $100 million because the cost are hidden in phases.
  6. Better hush yo' mouth.
  7. Can we all just agree that I'm a bad, bad man.
  8. I fully support the moderators/owners of this board right to do what they want. It's their toy, that they let other use, free of charge. (I think that's pretty cool.) My rights as an American have nothing to do with privately owned message boards. The Right to Free speech is designed for speaking out aginst the government in public places and settings. But I'm also not appologizing for my post. The board was full of the sky is falling threads, and feel-good-drink-the-green-kool aid threads. I said something controversial to shake things up.
  9. I have heard of that happening to anyone else.
  10. People shouldn't throw things a public events. Universities shouldn't rip off other schools traditions. Throwing tortillas is racist in orgin, as Tech did to insult hispanic teams.
  11. A formal invite was never but on the table, but that's not exactly how these things operate. Like Larry Coker at Miami said," these things are sort of like marriage, you don't ask unless you pretty sure what the answer is going to be."
  12. So previous blowout have given us thicker skin and we can get drunker before games. Sounds good to me.
  13. Why is it that there were less negative posts about the worst home loss than the UT blow out a year ago?
  14. Wow Tech. Have they played a D1 team yet this season? The sky isn't falling. Tulsa is better than us. The team is not a this good as year past, that happens in college football. Dickey is pretty good at regrouping from these sorts of set backs (he's does have a lot of experience at that.) The team passed its first test. Win a conference game early, against one of the better SBC teams. It failed its secound test, beat a regionall non-conference D1 team. "We" get another shot at the same test in a few weeks against LA Tech. And at the very least the attendence was pretty good.
  15. Let's not rule out all the penalties. Every season UNT leads the SBC in penalties and Dickey says we're working on it. A weak O-line, frosh QB, and stupid penalties = big loss at home
  16. Seems like a good day to "tag" up the campus leaving green marker board reminders in every classroom. Any takers?
  17. Why wait another week. This goes for anyone helping at Camp Copass aswell. Get in touch with the Salvation Army drop off at Texas Stadium. Also make sure to get your evacuees registered through the Red Cross and FEMA locations at the Dallas Convention Center. Even if people have register with FEMA on-line, more services are available at the convention Center. Currently the registration process is 2 parts. 1. Appointment time (Reunion Arena parking lot -SW corner of Memorial and Sports St.) 2. Processing at the Convention Center. It will most likely take two trips, since FEMA can only see about 750 people a day. As of Wednesday, they were already booked through Friday.
  18. Steal it from the Red Cross! At a time like this do you really think its appropriate to be asking for donations to a football team? As many as 1 million americans lost their homes last week. As many as 2 million americans are displaced.

  21. Has anyone heard if the LSU game is postponed?
  22. The grumbling was "rainbows" doesn't sound very tuff. The renamed/packaged and launched a marketing campaign.
