  1. This would be one of those unrealistic exspectations I'm always talking about. Cobbs was a great player, he should be in the UNT hall of fame, but he's not an NFL guy.
  2. I like how the article spells out how fans need to have realistic expectations, understand their team's position in D1, and not make excuses. Then this thread starts up full of excuses and calling for sell out crowds.
  3. Yeah, GMG.COM should sponsor the wet t-shirt contest.
  4. I guess we differ on the defination of "casual" fan. I tend to think people on this message board are more than casual fans. I'm also not sure a Spring anything does much for the casual fan. The Fall pep rally could have more of a meet and greet feel and that might help attendence. As far as more things for women, how about a wet-t shirt contest. Those usually involve women.
  5. Why would you want to promote this board? I didn't know our mindless jabbering was the attraction. I'm all for increased fan promotions, but again why Spring Practice? Spring practice only appeals to the hardcore fans, so why increase effrots to preach to the chior. We could be concentrating our efforts on what we has fans can do to improve the game day experience and get the word out.
  6. Who'd a thunk it, win 4-straight conference titles donations go up.
  7. Ummm. Yeah they did. Wasn't that Mack Brown's comment about Booger. You either have to double team him or hold him. This thread is just more proof the haters will spin anything. The Alamo Bowl will only be rembered for its ending.
  8. huh? Seems more like proof the teams suck. I common complaint about DD on this board is that the team is undiscipline and draws to many flags. We all go to the games, we see NT cheat'n.
  9. Isn't that the first time A-State has played the Hogs.
  10. If CFN was the real national media we might have something to worry about. Don't get me wrong I think its a cool site, but they deliberately look at things in a slightly different way to they have a unique angle on reporting on the top end of college football. CFN also says this is not how they expect teams to finish next season either. Their criteria first looks at shot at the national title, then BCS games, and breaks down from there. Of course the SBC is going to be at the bottom when it scores zeros in two of the five ranking categories. There aren't alot of positives to take away from last season, but at least CFN is recognizing Jamario as the best player amongst the bottom teir of college football.
  11. Why should a players performance outside NT impact their place in the "NT hall of fame?"
  12. He's still typing one of his ridiculously long posts.
  13. If your going to loose a recruit over a number he's a head case and you don't want him anyway. I mean really, someone to juvinile to respect the tradition and efforts of those that have come before them. Not to mention every school does this. Back to the thread: I think there is case to be made for Scott Hall.
  14. What recent players do you think will have their numbers retired and how long will it take UNT to recognize them?
  15. Now can I call him a dropout?
  16. Tag the campus the Monday or Tuesday before each home game. Leave a reminder on all the campus flyer boards and green dry-earse marker in every classroom. Chalk the outside walking areas. Classic college advertising.
  17. I think people are missing the point of threads like these. The topic is what can "We" the fans do to improve the game day environment to help the school draw more fans. It is completely pointless for us as fans to have discussion about scheduling and on the feild decissions. Let use this off season as fans to find ways that "we" can help.
  18. Highlight: Good attendence in-spite of the team's record.
  19. Boo-hoo. Michigan will get over it. It was a fun ending to a good game. Everyone will chalk it up to a crazy ending like the time the band ran on the feild in the 80's. The game is now a triva question, no one will think twice about the Belt officating crew.
  20. They come from the BCS conferences. Refs come from other conferences. As a ref you can't officate over games that involve your alma mater or its conference. I used to know I guy from Florida State who was on an SBC officating crew.
  21. Wow, an entire off-season of the sky is falling threads. What do you really plain to acheive by whining on this board or emailing regents. DD is going to be the coach next season, so deal with it. This program wasn't going anywhere before DD got here, he's they guy with the four conference titles. Sorry if he's not the guy to make that next step, but I don't know who is and no one on this board does either. If DD sucks it up another year you know RV is going to tell him to hit the road, so why bitch about?
  22. How about an Outkast concert. In all seriousness, institutional changes like moving the band's seating and selling beer might be hard to come by. Communal ideas like a chili cook-off are probably easier to pull off.
  23. LA Tech wants to make sure their bowl eligible next season.
