The biggest quesiton about brining in Dodge was if he could bring in good assistants. If were 1-7 at the end of Next October we'll be shopping for a new coach. DD would have been fired at the end of his third year if we weren't about to make the jump the SBC. Dodge isn't going to be given the luxury of 3 free years to get something in place, he's going to get 1 free year and 1 year to show improvement to even get to that 3rd year.

And that's why we picked up Dodge when we did.

WORST DEFENSE IN SCHOOL HISTORY. Five games or not, that's what it is. UL-L, UL-M, & WKY those are the games we are suppose to win. Five games into to the season or not, those are the games we were picked to win. I'm not saying we should support the coach/team/school, but stop with excuses.

I can't believe the false sense of out rage over message board posts. This is statisically the worst defense in UNT history. Roughly the same group of players are doing worst against the same teams they played last year. With that being said, the offense is much improved and future recruiting is looking up, so maybe things will work out. In the mean time everyone who wanted this coach has to take it on the chin until he proves he can do better than the last guy.

So where's your proof that these programs are bringing in more revenue? Improved on-field performance doesn't gaurtee your program is the black. At the same time College Football is more than just a business operation for the school, it brings a lot of intangibles with it, it just a decission of how much you want to spend for those intangibles. I also think trying to discredit a professor work because he comes from a small school is laughable and some what hypocritical.

Your all insane. 3-seasons is the norm for showing an improvement. With the exception of Shelly getting bounced from OU I can't of many 1 year time frames. No one is going to put up with two seasons and no improvement, but we've already seen improvement. The new offense is a big improvement, it just needs time (like a season or two). I'm glad to see some fan transfer from Southlake to UNT, but pretending everything is the same and trying to back it up with HS stats is an apples to grapes comparission.

Why is it hard to get people to come back? If you've been to a UNT game in the past then its pretty easy to see that we have better product than we used. Better tailgating, more exciting game play, and better restrooms.

And it wasn't the the deep ball that was the problem it was decission making. Meager tried to force it when should thrown it away on 3 plays.

Because what the mid-majors really need is an over rated team with a cream puff schedule to get into the BCS. The WAC is soft enough, but to add Northern Colorado & Charleston Southern to their schedule is a joke. D1 teams shouldn't schedule d1aa teams. Each team is only responsible for scheduling 4 OOC games out of 109 possible schools.

I thought the announcers summed it pretty well at the end of the 4th. "If things were going the way they were suspose to, North Texas wouldn't have a new coach." Or maybe we should just get tougher players. You know the type that don't get their feelings hurt by message boards.

That's about aveage for a payout. Does anyone know how much we got for the OU game? I thought I'd seen something that said we were getting $450k for the game.

Doesn't the SGA have to hold an open vote not just a representive vote to raise fees? I still say the best idea is to have the SGA vote to extend the current building fee that being used for health center so that when it retires the debt on it's current projects it could be used in the future to fund the stadium.

The best financing tool in addition to the capital campaign is to have the student body vote to continue the building fee that is currently assessed to pay for the new medical center. Once the debt has been retired on the current projects have the fee continue to be used for the stadium. It's not a "new" fee but simply a continuation of one that already exists and is about to expire.

Yawn. Bet ya' a dollar-to-a-donut that the NCAA is more leinent towards non-BCS schools than BCS schools when it comes to extra years. Take a look at how many the MAC has gotten.
