  1. 2008: 0-8 7 losses by 20+ 5 losses by 30+ The Dodge Era: 2-18 11 losses by 20+ 7 losses by 30+ The worst coaching record in school history. ANYONE could do better. There is no buzz about UNT or Dodge. There is just our fan base of around 20k (for a school with 35,000 students.)
  2. For what? 0-12?

Yes. I advocating boycotting/with holding any donations to the school until the coaching problem is resolved. When the coaching issue is resolved are resume making donations. If its resolved in a timely fashion, I'll give the funds I withheld.
  4. I don't know, Dickey managed 5 wins in two seasons with these players. I've noticed the only argument against getting rid of Dodge is that the University can't afford the buy-out. Which leaves be to ask can the program afford to keep Dodge? What impact will an 0-12 season have on the program? I also call BS on "UNT can't afford the buy-out." 1. We did it with Dickey. 2. It's not really that much money in the big scheme of things. 3. We laughed off Mattress Mac attempt to hold the program hostage of his donation being tied to Dickey, why freak out about less money going to Dodge. 4. Other coaches will still take the job, and they will understand an 0-12 season is not acceptable.
  5. I think its telling that no one can stand up for this coaching staff.
  6. 2-10. 0-7, with another loss on the way. Why aren't we talking about the next coach?
  7. Yeah, I'm glad the stadium voted passed, but lets be honest. Dodge is the worst coach in school history. He will never coach a game in that stadium. Dodge owns the worst start in school history and the school's worst losses. We obviously have a student body that cares about football, so its time to get coach that can win.

I'm noting giving the school a penny until they hire a college level coaching staff.
  9. Let's see if we can take this thread a different direction. For those saying it is too early to begin the next coach discussion what do you propose as fair standard? Is it simply giving the system time to work (3 to 4 years) or can we say there are limits to our patience (0-12 is unacceptable).
  10. I have faith RV will give Dodge a simular ultimatium that Dickey got after an 0-5 start. Dodge needs to win 2 games this season to keep his job.
  11. I refuse to let the coach not be held accountable for their second season because of a "sophomore slump." 1. I question the statistical validity that a sophomore slump exist (show me the first three seasons of every current head coach, and the previous set of head coach). 2. I don't have the stomach for the worst season in school history (0-12 or 1-11 season) I think the Dodge apologist on this board need to look at the excuses being made for this season. I saw improvement out there today I didn't. And the score and stats didn't reflect any improvement. It's Dickey's fault. Dickey managed to win 5 games with the same players and get an OOC win over SMU. The players aren't that good. How are these guys any different than the types of players that have always come here? And I thought Dodge was this awesome recruiter? The school doesn't support the team How is the level of support different than what Dickey or Simon received? Fouts Sucks Fouts sucked for the other coaches too.
  12. Wow. So its ok to fire underperforming coaches.
  13. 0-6 is not acceptable. 2-16 is not acceptable. Why are people on this board against accountability?
  14. The Dodge coaching era includes the worst start in school history and some of the school's biggest blowouts. 2-16 is not acceptable. I'm a big believer in benchmarks, and if Dodge can get the team to go 2-10, then I say give him one more chance for a winning season next year. But it does not look like a two win season is possible and it is time to begin the next coach discussion.
  15. Psst... the elephant in the room is the coaching, not the uniforms for injured players.
  16. www.firedodge.com is taken. But I'm thinking about starting www.gobacktohighschool.com.
  17. If the team goes 0-12, we fire Dodge. If the team goes 1-11, we fire Dodge. If the team goes 2-10, Dodge must go 7-5 next year not to get fired. If the team goes 3-9, Dodge must go 6-6 next year not to get fired.
  18. Big Donations come from cultivating relationships. Maybe we should do a better job a building relationships, instead of just hoping and wishing someone else will buy us a new toy.
  19. 4+ wins. This team was projected to go 3-9. Anything better than that would be a success.
  20. Yawn. The stadium doesn't make the team. Other coaches have won in Fouts. Can we drop all this whoa is me crap. No reputable source had this team doing anything better than 3-9. Can we give Dodge a chance to get his three conference wins? And why am I having to stick up for Dodge??? I was one the few people on this board that wanted to give Dickey another chance.
  21. HAHAHAHHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!! I'm glad you think your opinion on a football message board matters more than someone else's.
  22. Is that a sports bar? How's that going to work?
  23. It's a little late for these pro-Dickey threads. Give Dodge 16 more games, before we pass judgement.
  24. Umm. In 2001 MTSU was the SBC favorite. FIU has one upset win. In 2001 DD was fighting for his life after he failed to rebuild the team. Dodge is 16 games into his rebuilding. Our 2001 team was built around a young defense, a Galbreth ground and pound, and Scoot Hall not turning over the ball. Not exactly what I call Dodge ball.
  25. I think Southern Miss exposing Flanagin's one trick offense was a bigger blow to the team. Followed closely by DD's failure to capitalize on any bowl momentum.
