I asked this question a few years ago when people were bagging on Dickey and I never really got an answer. Is there any way to set up a "new coach" fund through some type of a official school organization? The fund would be used as signing bonus for the new coach? I've stopped giving to the University until they correct the coaching mistake, but I would gladly give the official new coaching fund.

Revisionist history sucks. A year and a half after our last bowl appearance we fire the coach a week after having a heart attack. The team then goes into the tank the rest of the season. But hey if you thought it was ok to fire Dickey mid-season then you should have no trouble flushing Dodge after today's game.

I predict RV will wise up and fire Dodge after our third straight losing with the high school coach at the helm. The Dodge era is the worst in school history.

But we can't afford to keep Dodge. If Dodge isn't going to see year 5 and the new stadium, then why suffer through Dodge year 4? This team might go 3-9 this season only to maybe go 5-7 next season. Why open the stadium with a new coach and suffer through 3 more rebuilding years? Fire Dodge in two weeks and get a new coach in here by December to start building towards the year we open the stadium.

Bad arguments all the way around. If he had our experienced QB, we wouldn't have to be suffering through a 3rd year of growing pains. Dodge has proven he doesn't know how to coach college ball. 1st he brought in high school assistants that we're up to snuff, so we did get anything out of the Dodge year one. Dodge year two was the growing pains year. Dodge year three has involved shuffling the deck to but in junior which is the same as pushing the reset button. And why did daddy start junior as a slot receiver last year? Nepotism affects your judgment.

At the very least Dodge should be put on notice. Dodge should be dismissed has head coach if he does not produce a winning record next season (2010). If this team doesn't win two more games this season, Dodge should be dismissed at the end of this season (2009).

You have no idea what they are talking about. Shreveport's hotel tax collections are huge. And a second CUSA/SBC match up wouldn't draw. The New Orleans Bowl doesn't pull 30k, why would a second or third team from the SBC do better?
