Why does everyone keep saying Troy. Arkansas State & App State are just as likely.

Who are these people who want to go to Boca Raton 3 times in two months?

POLL: Which bowl would you prefer UNT to be in?
shaft replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
The Independence Bowl would be great, but I'm not sure it's on the table. If it's just the CUSA bowls we might have to choose between Armed Forces vs New Mexico vs. New Orleans.- 22 replies

Let's say the Powers That Be say let's get out of town, and the only options are the CUSA bowls, where do you want to go?

This forum seems pretty divided on the topic. But the folks complaining about this possible bowl match up don't seem to get this isn't the same New Orleans bowl we last attended 13 years ago. First of all the game is on a Saturday, not a Tuesday like the original NO bowls. Second, the Super Dome has had major renovations. Third, this going to the same bowl 4 years in a row. Fourth, the Sun Belt is a better conference this season than it used to be. Troy beat LSU. Fifth, this isn't the 2004 game. The 2004 game sucked and left a bad taste in a lot of fans minds. Fans were experience bowl fatigue of having made the same mid-week trip, four years in a row, to watch and uninspired non-competitive game in an unseasonably cold environment. 2017 UNT is not 2001-2014 UNT.

So it's a mute point. You get your free ticket no matter who plays in that bowl.
-
You're wrong. New Orleans is a great destination for a bowl game. I would love to go a support my team there. I understand the school not wanting to go back to the same bowl two years in a row. I also thing 10 wins is a bigger opportunity for the program.
-
This bowl selection really comes down to the AD & Coaches philosophy of what's more important right now for our program. Money & ticket sales = One of the DFW bowls. Most exposure = Independence Bowl Biggest Risk/Reward = Heart of Dallas against Big 12 10+ wins = New Orleans Reward for players & fans= New Orleans or New Mexico

Not UNT football! Move to r/dontgiveash*t

Alabama and Mike Price disagree.

This means both FAU & UNT have passed on the Bahamas (which they should have). Bowls also have to extend an invite. You don't ask people you are going to say no or let me see what else I can get.

Independence Bowl = FSU vs UCLA HOD = Texas Tech vs UNT
-
Chip Kelley to UCLA. UCLA’s Bowl stock just rose.
-
UCLA beats CAL, and is bowl eligible. Now let’s see what happens with FLA-FSU. I don’t think FLA & UCLA want to play each other given the coaching competition. We could easily be the other team to slide into the Independence Bowl.
-
Per ESPN "There is only one bowl with representatives scheduled to be in attendance at tonight's Cal-UCLA game: the Walk-On's Independence Bowl. It's December 27, in Shreveport, La."
-
I thought conference realignment and uniform talk was confined to off season.
-
With Ol Miss's win last night in the egg bowl, the SEC now has 10 bowl eligible teams. Did the SEC spot in the Independence Bowl just get filled?
-
A couple of things; DD never upgraded his coaching staff or recruiting practices. The rest of the conference caught up and added Troy. Dead quarterback left a big hole in the team. People graduated and there was no depth. The decline happened the season before, but the Sun Belt was so bad the record didn’t show. The rumblings for the high school coach had already begun and “we” quit investing in the current product. Diet Cokeboy got cocky and didn’t try as hard.

As previously stated “Leach” over achievered at the middle of Big 12 sh*thole in West Texas. Also “Leach” played the most candyass OOC schedule he could to run up the score & stats. Everything about Texas Tech sucks, and any UNT fan that says otherwise should have their fan card pulled. Happy Thanksgiving and quit talking about about those racist, classless, sheep touching, SOBs.

DRC: Is UNT having the best season of G5 programs in Texas?
shaft replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
No, we lost to SMU. We’re having a good year. A conference championship or a bowl win will make it a great year. Both will make it a top 5 season. -
The answer is House of Pies.
