No. LA Tech will be in the SBC before Texas State and UTSA are FBS/D1 schools. Tech was spared joining the SBC by the WAC unequal payouts and Boise's BCS cash. With Boise out of the WAC its only a matter of time before LA Tech joins a more regional conference.
-
The 12th spot in CUSA was between UTEP, UNT, and LA Tech. I don't see how with a new stadium and baseball on the way we wouldn't be considered in another opening came available.
-
The SBC is now a better conference than the WAC. Boise skewed all of the favorable rankings for the WAC, without the Broncos the WAC is a really bad conference. The Belt is still a better fit for NT. LA Tech should be really worried about Boise's move. Without the BCS cash the WAC's travel schedule is going to take its toll LA Tech's budget.

Because we're a D1 team in an FBS conference with image problems. The SBC encourages its schools to play a full FBS schedule to help boost the reputation of the conference. Other conferences and schools don't have these problems so they can dip down and not hurt their reputation. Also big schools dip down and play these body bag/fcs games to avoid playing landmine FBS schools.

Yeah, I'm a dummy. "Despite the multi-receiver sets, the spread option is a run-first scheme which requires a quarterback that is comfortable carrying the ball, a mobile offensive line that can pull and trap effectively, and receivers that can hold their blocks. The essence of the spread option is misdirection. Effectively, this is the old triple option except that it utilizes spread sets. In particular, the quarterback must be able to read the defensive end and determine whether he is collapsing down the line or playing upfield contain." So if we lose our the running threat at QB, are we going to be able to open up the seams necessary to "spread" the defense?

Are we going to be able to run a spread offense without a running threat at QB?

Yes after this season I will be singing a different tune. I will buy season tickets and start giving to the University again, because Dodge will be gone and the program will be going in the right direction.
-
5-31. Dodge has to win 7 games to pass the Dennis Parker's record. And that's with an extra season, and one extra game per year. The Dodge Era is the worst in school history
-
Pssst. 1. The Dodge era is the worst in school history. What jury are you waiting on? 2. Vizza was the better option, but Daddy didn't see it that way. 3. Dodge will be fired mid-season, but will stay on the rest of the season. The same way they did with Dickey.
-
Let's see. I said Dodge wasn't the right hire for us...and I was right. I said Riley... was too fragile to play D1 QB...and I was right. And I say Dodge will not be back next season, but I will be. Because being a fan of my school doesn't mean blindly accepting this bad product. If being a fan means always saying the coach is right, then all those Dickey haters have some explaining to do.

Dodge is done. The only questions left are if RV fires him in week 7 or 8.
-
Not really. Vizza should have this job. But our high school coach wanted to go with his kid. The Dodge Era is the worst in school history.

The coaching renewal is what prevents me from buying tickets.

I like the schedule. Easy October, tough November. 4 straight weeks at home. If Dodge can't get it done with this schedule (which he won't) then he shouldn't be the coach.

The big difference is the Todd Dodge grill blows smoke somewhere else. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jkXO1Pic3uo

No. He's the worst coach in school history. He'll be fired by week 8. We are just riding this year out because we've got to much money tied up in the new stadium.

Sweet. When do we get a coaching upgrade?

Psst. We have a high school coach at the helm. Recruits aren't coming here.

What Was The Greatest Football Season...
shaft replied to Side Show Joe's topic in Mean Green Football
Wasn't 2003 the year we blew up Baylor and Cobbs won the rushing title. -
Nah, RV will fire Dodge after the 7th or 8th game, but let him finish out the year as HC. We'll reassign TD for year 5 to keep Riley around and so we don't have to eat the full cost of the buy out. The stadium has the program cash strapped, which why we couldn't afford to fire Dodge at the end of this season.
-
That's why 2010 is a double edged sword. It's one more season of the worst coach in school history, but its also the year he gets fired (or at least demoted to QB coach to keep his kid from transferring.)
-
How? I love the Belt and all, but what objective standard are you using?
-
I could edit the post, but I don't really care and I have a crappy public school education. The Dodge Era is the worst in school history.
-
Really? Getting your kid to come to the school you coach at to run the only system he's ever played in is a big score? The Dodge Era is the worst in school history.
-
Clap your hands if you believe in Dodge. Come on kids, clap your hands or coach Dodge will die. Your an idiot if your believe year four of a coach is about "buying in" to his system. The Dodge era is the worst in school history.
